Conclusive evidence of Gods existence would destroy the idea of faith. Faith I feel is important but also feel there are many ways to look at the existence of God some could be argued as conclusive, as a set of ideals and moral choices rolled into 'God' then yes God is real. God as something that can be interacted with is a little harder to prove. However, it really grinds my gears when scientists act as though God has been conclusively disproven. As scientists (no pun) they should know better.

@moroney1 Things have happened to me lately on a personal level that have made me look at the Bible with more of an open mind and there is much in there that I must admit are changing my views somewhat. I was fortunate to film a talk on science and faith by some leading scientists not long ago and I really believe the two can co-exist. Also the Bible isnt the onle source that has changed my views, I try to keep an open mind and if I was to start claiming one source is right and one is wrong than that isn't being open minded. With my open minded approach however I have been able to look at religious text in a knew light, doesn't mean I believe everything I am reading.
@moroney1 Also faith can be placed in other sources of than religious text, you can have faith in a friend or a set of principles. Faith can help people, achieve, overcome or see them through harsh times so just having faith can and is very important for many people.

Actually, the Mat Dillahunty was wrong about one thing (right about everything else, but wrong on one thing). The Miller/Urey Experiment does show how life could've generated on Earth. It's just that when they first did it, they forgot to include several of the most important gases that were present on Earth 4.5 billion years ago. We've since repeated the experiment with a more consistent mixture and we find that abiogenesis is still in fact probable on Earth with its given atmosphere.

If you have access to peer reviewed articles you can look up research papers regarding abiogenesis. Miller and Urey have their paper published in Science (Vol. 190). Chyba and Sagan published a paper in OLEB (Vol. 21) where they discuss alternate energy sources that could've promoted abiogenesis. Also look up Episode 2 of Carl Sagan's "Cosmos." It's on youtube.

Conclusive evidence of Gods existence would destroy the idea of faith. Faith I feel is important but also feel there are many ways to look at the existence of God some could be argued as conclusive, as a set of ideals and moral choices rolled into 'God' then yes God is real. God as something that can be interacted with is a little harder to prove. However, it really grinds my gears when scientists act as though God has been conclusively disproven. As scientists (no pun) they should know better.

I was fortunate to film a talk on science and faith by some leading scientists not long ago and I really believe the two can co-exist. It is odd reasoning but I am still to be 100% convinced of the existence of God(s) but feel faith is important. Hope I am making some kind of sense.lolz

Also the Bible isnt the onle source that has changed my views, I try to keep an open mind and if I was to start claiming one source is right and one is wrong than that isn't being open minded. With my open minded approach however I have been able to look at religious text in a knew light, doesn't mean I believe everything I am reading.

We can neither prove or disprove God, mainly because we can not define God.
We do not know how life began, and because of this we can not know for sure either way.
Probabilities alone can not prove anything, and they can make something improbably but not impossible. Because of this there will always be the probability that God exists, and that it does not. It can not be proven either.

The only biological argument he could have made is that DNA cannot create itself and cannot self replicate. RNA can act as a catalyst, but can only contain so much. Therefore, DNA had to have been created by something or someone. However, saying GOD did it is using a "God of the Gaps" argument and doesn't actually prove the existence of God.

Actually, the Mat Dillahunty was wrong about one thing (right about everything else, but wrong on one thing). The Miller/Urey Experiment does show how life could've generated on Earth. It's just that when they first did it, they forgot to include several of the most important gases that were present on Earth 4.5 billion years ago. We've since repeated the experiment with a more consistent mixture and we find that abiogenesis is still in fact probable on Earth with its given atmosphere.

@BigBrothersWatching2 You can look up the Urey/Miller experiment for starters. They practically started the field of abiogenesis. If you have access to peer reviewed articles you can look up research papers regarding abiogenesis. Miller and Urey have their paper published in Science (Vol. 190). Chyba and Sagan published a paper in OLEB (Vol. 21) where they discuss alternate energy sources that could've promoted abiogenesis. Also look up Episode 2 of Carl Sagan's "Cosmos." It's on youtube.
