  • this guy is entertaining as hell

  • Rob appeared in my dreams last night, handed me a bright orange bass and told me to keep rocking.

He's playing with the best now. R.I.P.

  • <3 you will be missed

  • You're my new hero!!

  • Yea, this dudes awesome. However, he reminds of Steve Little aka Stevie Janowski from Eastbound and Down!!!!!!

  • I've never heard of this band. I did like the playing, and yeah...it looks really exhausting.....wow! Great job.

  • Great and thanks. i didnt know anything about Mike Watt.

  • honestly this is one of your best covers. And I can imagine you were were extremely tired at the end of the last song!

  • Another smashing bass vid, ZIF. I don't know if they're your style, but would you mind covering a Maximum the Hormone song? I think you're one of the few bassists that could do them justice.

  • If they are who I think they are (the Japanese band), no, they are not my style. However, I had another viewer who sent me their tunes and I agree that their bass is pretty darned good.

  • nice one man :-)

  • Thanks, bro. I love playing Mike Watt's stuff. so solid, melodic, and powerful.

  • Awesome! Yet again great playing on these tunes. You seem to be really good at this guys style. But while I was watching I couldn't help but look at your right hand. Were you using your pointer and ring finger for plucking mostly? It kinda looked that way unless I'm seeing wrong.

  • Yup, those are my main fingers for plucking. the middle one is used 90% of the time only to back up the ring finger. I do occasionally play with the middle and index finger when I need to rest the ring finger, but none of these tunes are that demanding on my endurance pluck-wise (the slap is brutal though). It's not something I think about...just happens.

  • Wow that's pretty neat. I've only seen a couple bassists do that as there main plucking fingers. So with that rotation you save finger strength so they don't get tired. A neat little trick.

  • For a guy who started as a pick player like me, it is a matter of necessity when playing Steve Harris or such. You just run out of power and the other finger takes over....either that or blister like heck and start sounding mushy (as I did at the end of this video because I was pretty tired by the time I shot the sixth song)

  • I know what you mean I started as a pick player myself as well. I could see how your fingers could get tired, these songs seem like they require a lot of endurance. I've been trying to figure out some three finger tricks so my fingers don't get as tired quickly.

  • Nice work once again, Mike Watt sounds pretty good by the look of your covers :D

  • thats so cool you have new stuff to show me all the time i love it

  • You are a bass Ninja fella!

  • LOL.

  • One kick ass bass player you are!! Cool..

  • Thanks. I enjoy playing quite a bit, especially Mike Watt's stuff....it has a great feel.

  • You always do a great job with your videos, I love watching them! Can you please give me an honest review of your Schecter Stiletto Elite I am really considering of buying one but I am not sure whether to get that or to get the studio...Not too sure......by the way what finish is that on the bass its beautiful?

  • I love the Stiletto Elite. The neck is nice and thin for easy play, and it slaps like you would not believe. I would not recommend it for metal, but I would for punk or funk. The only drawback are that the pickups rumble a bit, but that can be EQued out. My finish is black cherry.

  • Thanks Rob! I am curious...do you know what is the main differences and pluses with the Studio and the Elite? Both are the same price.

  • I honestly do not know. I have only played the Stiletto elite.

  • Alright, well thanks for the help anyways :D! and keep playing that bass in the awesome ways you do!!!!

  • Whatever feels right to you is the one you should get. I think studio is more twangy and lighter, the elite feels like it is much more solid of a bass

  • Thanks for the interpretation, werf, and thank for having a good enough ear to tell that I changed my tone from tune to tune.

  • p@nK@K3Z!!1

  • Even though I have no idea what you said, thanks.

  • Awesome! :)

  • Thanks.

  • nice one ;) *thumbs up to you*

  • Much appreciated.

  • NOT FIRST!........awesome video Rob

  • Thanks, man. Been a while since I went with the funky stuff.
