i assume this video was made before johnny cash's death. she does a great job. it would probably be difficult for rosanne to do this number now. i know she misses her dad. classy lady.
This is very beautiful!! I also like Emmylou Harris's version from her "Bluebird" album. This has to be a hard song to sing as it was a standard of her dad's. It was also sung on the TV movie "Wildflower" that starred Patricia Arquette. The movie had a fiddle instrumental of the song that was amazing!!
Not unless they are on a beautiful native chick :P Native women with colored contacts just look funny, especially when they try blue contacts they just look mutated or something. Just like dark skinned women should never have blonde hair. Just wish people realized they are beautiful just the way they are. Well make up's fine just not super rediculously thick...I digress...
She didn't even know her dad recorded "Tennesee Flat Top Box" when she was thinking of doing it. I guess she was angry a long time about his leaving....
@cabritorsss I read her book it's very good she does say things about her dad when she was a kid but I wouldn't say she really held it against him more like when she was a kid she didn't understand it as well. I guess when she got older and got a Divorce she probably saw more easily how hard it must have had been for her father.
I've always wanted to hear a version of this song where the last major chord of the verse--where it goes "..and I still miss someone"--the resolution to the major tonic sounds AWESOME when you go to the relative minor. It changes the while tone of the song to "melancholy"... She DOES do it in the bridge where she says "those arms that held me"
I wonder why she didn't record it that way in the verse?
he wore the black for the downbeat and the poor he would ov loved to wore a rainbow but in this world we live in there was'nt much chance of that was there rip johnny cash
Roseann she just puts that special touch to her Father's great music. Yeah I ALSO STILL MISS SOMEONE as I look upwards I can see her face along with Johnny and June. HUGS
I really liked your channel and this video. If you need any help getting this video exposed I use a site called tubeviews (dot) net It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position.
There is software im using to send atleast 30,000 text message a day advertising my online business...it is amazing. I think they have free demos to try as well.

I love this old song and Roseanne's unique voice and style make it so pleasant and unforgettable. Johnny sang it the first time I ever heard it but I am thankful Roseanne recorded it for us to enjoy. Does anyone know who is singing with her here? Thank you summer for posting this. - Paula
I hate when people compare Rosanne. She is so unique and fabulous that it's just a fantastic coincidence that she also has famous relatives. She is a wonderful singer and human being. I LOVE her!!!!
Loved it! This was played at my father in laws funeral and I wish I would have had this version. Guess will all miss someone with the death of Johnny and June yep will miss their talent. I still miss someone
i only heard this song one time on a movie called wild rose and i never forgot it. when my son was born i sang it to him everyday. thank you for posting this, it ended a 17 year old mystery.
The movie was Wildflower, a beautiful made for TV gem, directed by Diane Keaton. It was the first time I saw Patricia Arquette and Reese Witherspoon. The song, the story, each of these three ladies; when I see or hear any one of them, the others come right back.
Stevie Nicks did a version of this song in 1989. She recently lost her father, too. I think it would be a nice tribute to see both Stevie and Rosanne do this together.
