@cd949604 The coolest thing is that our service is helping someone at a very troubling, maybe scary time. We bring families back together. We bring people home who fell ill on the far side of the globe. We bring people to specialists that may be thousands of miles from where they live. We save lives. We give hope. We give comfort. That is the coolest thing about air ambulance. Thank you so much for asking.
@AmJetsAirAmbulance You Welcome, Hope you guys injoy safe trips and helping other people who are in need. you guys do a wonderful job. God bless you and the people who are in need
We do long distance air ambulance...like Florida to New York, or maybe S. America to Florida. We also fly a lot of Canadian snowbirds (Canadians that winter in the US). If one is on a cruise and has a heart attack in Mexico, we'll get a call to get them back into our system where we have 1st class care and U.S. health insurance is valid. Sometimes its just to reunite a family across the country. Sometimes to a distant hospital for specialized treatment... you get the idea.
We use Lears for speed, comfort (altitude) and economy. Limited budgets, or insurance companies determine the size. Lears are the industry standard. For trans continental trips we could see a shift to larger planes in the next years. Most of our flights are 2 to 4 hrs.,,,...2 pilots, 2 medical, 1 patient and up to 2 family. Its tight when we are full and baggage is very limited. When cardiac arrest is a possibility, we limit to 1 family to allow room to work a code.

@SpassMacher2000 Thanks for asking. Usually one or 2.. Sample common profile: Go to Ft Lauderdale to pick up a patient. Transport to Toronto. (maybe) pick up one in Cleveland and transport to Houston... then home to S Florida. We often go to Central or S American or the Caribbean and repatriate to the United States.
@filippacamaj To be a Captain from 0 hours to employability is probably a solid 4 year project. You need the ratings and also some practical experience. Co-pilot 2 to 3 years. Nurses and Medics.. probably about the same as pilots. As for me, I am the Pres of the company. Started as a pilot/salesman then to VP, then to Dir of Flight Operations and finally bought the company in 2003. I had been with the company for 10 years at that time and had decades of other business experience. Thanks.
@filippacamaj We use Learjets. The interior is fitted in a medical configuration with the removal of 2 seats and installation of a stretcher. We also have an electrical inverter installed that puts out 110 volts AC like your home outlets. This lets us recharges the batteries of the portable equipment like ventilators, defibrolators, IV pumps, etc. Otherwise, the planes are not custom built and still have most of the trimmings of an executive interior. Leather seats, Teakwood tables, etc.
Actually, the song came from YouTube's library of free copyright music. I don't know the name of the piece or the artist. Sorry. But thanks for asking.
Generally "MedEvac" is a term for helicopters and emergency trauma. However, a lot of people do not know that transplant organs are transported in this manner - literally a life and death situation just as important as using a helicopter of "Life Flight" a critically injured patient from an accident.
Its from the copyright free library here. Thanks for watching. Join us on Facebook at AmericanJets Air Ambulance. We have some fun there and everyone is invited
Generally the insurance company is looking for 1500 plus with some multi turbine. We usually pull FOs from high time instructors. We try to upgrade from within unless we are in a crunch. Fro Capt's an LRJet type is required (ATP).
FOs 1500 TT w/500 Multi Incl 100+ Turbine Capt 2500 TT 1000 Multi Inc 500 Turbine Insurance company may waive some requirements if there are other strong areas I.e. less TT or Multi if there is more Turbine. Right now we are promoting from within and not expanding the staff.
My friends could have used your services to get home from Haiti a couple of weeks ago! This is nearly enough to tempt me away from my future airline career! :)
Haiti is a common stop for us. bad place to get sick or hurt. We have one or two ex-airline guys. This is harder work, but it has it's rewards. Then we have a few that never went to the airlines like they thought they would. And some that will. Thanks for your comment. We have a great video on our facebook page: American Jets Air ambulance Come visit and join.
Wow great pictures! What a noble job too... flying and saving lives, if i wasnt set on being in the navy, this is what i'd do. maybe after im out the military ill do this. and whats the song you used in this? it fits the video perfectly.
Thanks for the nice words. We are a for profit company (more or less), but the rewards is in the service we do for people. But... the Navy... now that is truly a noble cause.. especially now. It is American Jets that salutes you! The music came from YouTube's collection of copyright free music. We had something else that they booted off. But I like it this way too. Best wishes!
what exactly is the purpose of this aircraft? i understand that its for medical use but what exactly d you guys do? Bring transplant recipients to different hospitals?
Thanks for asking. We do a few transplant patients or organ recovery flightseach year. But primarily we are a long distance air ambulance company. We frequently repatriate American and Canadian citizens that have had severe illness or accident far from home and need advanced life support (Intensive Care) medical transport. Commonly from Central or S. America to US or Canada, or Florida to the NE US or Canada, taking snowbirds home to a hospital near their family. About 700 missions/yr in jets.
ok thanks.....I love the king air. My grand father has a super king air 350 and a beechjet 400xp and i probobly like the king air more...you cant beat the sound of those turbo props
Wow, your grandfather must be quite a man. I am type rated in the 350. I have about 3000 hrs in a 300. Beautiful airplane. Large cabin, high load capacity and very quick for a prop-jet. Extremely versitile and reliable. As we say: bullet-proof.
Sorry, I don't remember the name. It came from the copyright free page of YouTube. Thanks for the compliment and for watching our video. I love to show what we do and the crews that are on the front line.
This video is so fucking gay. Im going to track you wanker jet pilots down and beat you to death with a pillow case full of door knobs.
P.S. fatty in the self-shot at 36 seconds. . . . too many more burgers and you'll be in the back of that jet with a cardiac arrest.
