I am not an Obama supporter but you are right on the part in what he had when he got to office. But he as had the house and Senate all demorcate his first 2 years in off an nothing has happen. The Unemploment is just as bad when Bush was in office and not going to get better. The good news is Obama is going to have another 4 years. Dont see anybody beating him.

Correct, Obama inherited a very difficult economy. The question is this: would the economy have been better had the federal gov and the Obama administration NOT pursued the stimulus package, bailouts, and extensively expanded the regulatory framework. Would the economy be better off? It's hard to predict counterfactuals.

I just wish more people would counter the idiotic notion that Obama (and Obama alone) is responsible for the national debt. The Bush administration was the most fiscally reckless in history. You can disagree with the need for fiscal stimulus in a recession, I suppose, but you can't wave away the fact that Bush is largely responsible for exploding the deficit during an economic expansion.
