  • Hey Lisa, I found you on the right-hand side of the screen, because I've been listening to Joni's version insistently, but now I'm clicking on your video just as much. AWESOME job girl!!!

  • god

  • Hi Lisa,

This is one of my favorite songs and I think one of Joni's best. You did it justice. Beautiful. You should try to make a CD. What is your guitar tuning?

  • Nice work Lisa - I love it. I was considering doing my own version of Joni's 'The Same Situation' - which led me to you. Will check out more of your stuff now. Regarding Same Situation, there's a nice chords sequence on the guitar (regular tuning) which you miss. Let me know, and I'll post you a tab. It's the 'send me somebody...' bit.

  • What a fantastic job. When I saw this video was by somebody other than Joni I said, "yeah, right" - but you made a believer outta me.

  • Pure velvet!

  • It is safe to say that Joni Mitchell, herself, would be pleased to see this. You got this song like nobody else but her. Thank you.

  • haunting interpretation...

  • very nicely done! -rb

  • Oy! I have always loved this song! And you sing/play it beautifully!

  • Haunting at times. Voice is very strong throughout. I notice that the tempo varies as you progress through the song. Whether intentional or not, you hung strong here and made it work.

  • ok, this is really really good. Love it. I play guitar too and I love figuring out Joni songs in open tunings. YOu play this wonderfully. And....your voice is really lovely. You really made my night here.

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs ever composed. May I make a request? Roddy Woomble's "My Secret Is My Silence." You'd be perfect for it.

  • absolutely lovely. thank you.

  • I love this song so much. good work young lady.

  • Very good! I discovered this beautiful song just few weeks ago and I wrote this words for it: The music in "Sweet bird" It seems to reveal the secret of a neverending blossom, like some plants that grow between the rocks near an higway, or in far away places across the mountains Something lost so good to restart our life A slight smile against any attempt of destruction and deceit hidden in the rumours Quietly waiting for the truth. Bye
  • beautiful voice

  • Wow again. Joni is my 2nd best ,after Sandy, and you've nailed it again Lisa. When are you touring in Australia?

  • "Guesses based on what each set of time and change is touching"....what a hypnotic and interesting line and it's so cool and interesting to see someone actually picking up that unique song to cover. Nice work!

  • what's the tuning ? nice work...

  • hey hey lisa - its zisk (franziska) from the bridge inn - got here via your myspace and i've got to say - wow. hope to see you there again - i think my dad and i are doing killing me softly the week after next - argh!

  • Hi Fraziska - thanks for your comment! Your set was great last night! Not many people our age seem to go to these folk nights, so it was wonderful to see you there. You have a beautiful voice - don't ever stop singing! :)

I'll look forward to seeing you at the bridge again in 2 weeks time!

    Lisa x

  • I'm wondering if you write any of your own songs, because you have such great taste in music. Anyway, thanks for the videos. You really are very talented.

  • i love your voice. and the simplicity you keep to your voice and guitar combined.

we're both in the same boat. we're not singing beyonce or justin timberlake, so we have much smaller amounts of views.

youre my first girl love on youtube. :)

check out mine, let me know if you like it!

    xxmorgan

  • just beautiful! thanks for performing -- and posting -- one of Joni's most beautiful.

  • elegant, understated and haunting. You get better and better.

  • you would win pop idle

  • Gorgeous as usual!

  • respectfully, 'sweet bird' is exactly right.. the vibrato in your voice is like birdsong
