I mean, if a troop accidentally kills some Iraqi because he had great suspicion that the guy was a terrorist or intended to kill them, and the Iraqi ended up dying because of self-defense actions taken by the troop, it's certainly not murder. It was a mistake, yes. But it wasn't done with malicious intent or as a "war crime."

Plus, only a handful of troops in Iraq, if even that amount, have been tried and prosecuted for 'war crimes'. This Winter Soldier seems like bs.

How do we know for sure these guys testifying are telling the absolute truth? They're obviously not under oath, so they could sugarcoat their stories as much as possible. I think at least a few of them believed in ending the war so much that they'd lie about what was really going on just to bolster their case. I'm against the war, but if some of them lied, that's the wrong way to go about it.

Besides, let's give them a little credit. It's a war zone, not the most relaxed area.
