Just remember Poll tax, miners strike, hospital waiting list , school roofs falling in ,mass unemployment ,that was last time .God help us all if they get in again.
What did the white christians of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland ever achieve? What did they ever give to the world? What did they ever invent or discover? even athletically they are pathetic. The same goes for the WASPS of the USA.
All they did was enslave the only people who have ever been enslaved - African-Americans and Afro-Carribeans who deserve reperations.
we are righting this by taking some countries over demographically. things will be ours in 50 yrs.
Please know that I mean no personal hostility against you, ERICBELLEND. Nonetheless, ...
1 have you forgotten how much worse BT was at the point the decision was made to privatize it (for its customers, never mind for its creditors, for its owners the taxpayers and for its employees notwithstanding their being part of the cause)?
2 have you forgotten that the solution to any firm which fails to serve its customers, AND fails to give its owners (whether taxpayers or shareholders) their investment's worth (in fact, being a financial blackhole endlessly bleeding taxpayers/shareholders), AND fails to pay its creditors, AND fails its employees and managers as well, is to correct the way it is run and who runs it.
Anybody who seriously believes that the above entities were better before privatization is the type with such REMARKABLE MEMORY-EDITING-AND-EMBELLISHMENT talents that they have replaced in their mind every event in the years leading to the Winter of Discontent.
A scenario built on multiple assumptions which in the real world constitute contradictions:
1A: you assume that you have a PROFITABLE privately-owned company of which government can acquire a 51% stake--that having done so its prospects under new majority ownership are still attractive for private investors to want to hold the remaining 49%;
or 1B: you assume that you have a government-owned company which is at present, and is expected in future to remain, PROFITABLE enough for private investors to want to hold 49% of ;
2 you assume that private investors holding 49% would have no seats on the board thus have no say in actual management decisions;
3 you assume that it is in private investors' business interests to RE-EMPLOY "hundreds of thousands" of employees--instead of simply shedding them to cut costs;
4 you assume that there is one company which both fits 1A or 1B above AND has nearly- or more than a million employees--to accomodate your "hundreds of thousands of jobs shed";
5 you assume that profitability will not be adversely affected by "hundreds of thousands" of redundancies nor by effects on morale on those remaining;
6 you assume that a government which insists on 51% ownership, which would need to have more Socialist rather than Capitalist leanings, could shed "hundreds of thousands" of jobs in one company without triggering a revolution from its electoral base nor from its backbenchers;
7 you assume that "reduced pension rights and salaries" would nonetheless keep the "hundreds of thousands" keen on remaining with the same company group and retain faith in the Party in power;
8 you forget that 51% still means state-ownership and that a state-owned holding company/parent company still makes the newly-set up subsidiaries state-owned;
and
9 you forget that it does not make sense even for a Socialist government to have ministers sitting on the boards of subsidiaries but have nobody sit on the parent/holding company.
Were you playing truant or consistently dozing off when they taught the fundamentals in your Economics classes in university?
Were you likewise playing truant or consistently dozing off when they taught the fundamentals in your Business Management classes in university?
Or is your university degree from an online institution which recruits students through spam? Have you even been to university--which one specifically?
Can you read a university textbook on the above subjects and make sense of it?
Can you go through one issue of The Economist without dozing off, without getting migraines and without ending up admiring the cartoons and photos above everything else?
Yes vote for the bnp, the nutters party. Full of Scroungers and retards, who think by getting rid of all foreigners they'll get free housing and more money.
Socialist Scum, We've had one Socialst government we don't need another crap one. Tell me whats going to happen to the banking system the most heavyweight industry if your xenophobic no prospect guideless party comes into power? I'll tell you what they're all going to move leaving us out of pocket.
Remember the Thatcher years? God help us all if these tory cunts get in again. It won't matter if you're muslim, black, white or whatever, we'll all be out of jobs again while these twats line their pockets and privatise everything in sight so they can all be highly paid board members.
1 Remember the years BEFORE--which was precisely what LED TO--the Thatcher years?
2 You'll be out of a job whenever the industry in which you work is dying--public subsidies only delay the inevitable ... and those come from even-higher taxes squeezed from workers in other industries which, because of ever-increasing taxes, die, too.
3 Au contraire: incumbent government ministers cannot concurrently serve as board members in private companies--but they can do so in state-owned firms.
labour has been in power for over a decade, there are very few governments that carry on after ten years and still haave there popularity intact, still anything can happen.
Cameron why dont you have a debate with Nick Griffin on bbc question time .Lets see how your policys match up to the BNP's . Bring it on if youve got the bottle.
There are news reports that the economy is showing signs of recovery. There is a good chance there will be a noticeable up-turn, at the time of the general election.
If this is the case, then Camerons criticisms of Brown will be proved wrong. At the minute, Cameron is like the over-confident hare, but we shouldnt right-off the steady tortoise.
1 The "vast majority" are those who work hard instead of relying on the state for handouts; those who are too busy caring for their families thus have no time to obsess about other people's earnings and background, much less see anyone who has more as an "enemy" and "evil".
3A: "within" is not a magic tail which turns all that is mundane into something magnificent--why do you keep attaching it to this word and that? what are you trying to achieve or convey?
3B: the number of syllables in a word does not determine its value; does not determine whether it is the proper one to use to convey both meaning and nuance; does not necessarily make one sound intelligent (nor does it indicate intent to overwhelm the other side)
Nonsense. The huge sweeping statments Cameron made are so easy & convincing yet riddled with flaws. Politics is largely a balancing act trying to keep money in people's pockets whilst delivering public services. In an ideal world taxes would be non-existent and public services even better than they are now. Unfortunately the World doesn't quite work like that. It's simply impossible to keep everyone happy and on-side. Cameron seems in total denial to this.
I was at the Colchester Cameron Direct and I have to say, he did very well to start with but the last few questions he dodged aroud a bit. Still, he's definitely the best party leader at the moment.
He certainly talks very directly, and seems to have a good understanding of the issues.. he is keen to say a clear YES or NO.. he had better stick to it.
Sure, this is refreshing and change is needed - no doubt. I'll be voting for this guy, as I dont see a credible alternative. But isn't this how we felt 10 years ago when Tony was the bright light in British politics. Are more and more people just voting for the person rather than the politics?
Same as loveandkaos, I'm normally left-of-centre when it comes to politics. However, at the moment, I genuinely think this country needs someone with Cameron's approach to life at its head.

No I live in the Vatican with the Pope. You have no idea how a country works!
Go read up on countries that adopted nationalistic socialism as their ideology, they all went down the crapper. Let me give you a hint.
Germany (Hitler) - you know what happend there
Spain (Franco) - made the country a shit hole
Italy (Mussoloni) - haha
Uganda (Amin) - made it one of the worlds poorest countries
Zimbabwe (Mugabe) - Hyperinflation made everyone bankrupt
Catch my drift you smelly Socialist.

This Tony Blair clone has nothing to offer the vast majority of this country.
He is only interested in obtaining the keys to No10 and the 'Power' imbued within.
Once ensconsced within, will the people see the True policies that this clone has for the poorest elements within our society.
