The brotherhood and solidarity with Israel that the dialogue between messianic Jews and Evangelical Christianity have engaged in has been only beneficial and helpful to Israel. There are those who believe that because Evangelicals await the "final rapture", they desire to take over Israel. Not true. Waiting in faith is not the same as plotting a takeover.

Pretty amazing. Though, they are not singing according to any ancient Jewish melody. This is a variant of a melody composed by Austrian-Jewish composer Salomon Sulzer in the mid-19th Century - VERY different than how any of the ancient Jews, or the Jews of any North African, Spanish or Middle-Eastern country would chant the Shema. Still, quite an amazing sight to behold!

Judaism's message is one of universalism. Chosenness refers to those anointed by God to be a holy nation representing his will in this world. It has nothing to do with superiority. All peoples have a place in the world to come according to Judaism, Jews just have more responsibility to live a specific way as representation for God's message.

The brotherhood and solidarity with Israel that the dialogue between messianic Jews and Evangelical Christianity have engaged in has been only beneficial and helpful to Israel. There are those who believe that because Evangelicals await the "final rapture", they desire to take over Israel. Not true. Waiting in faith is not the same as plotting a takeover.

Because messianic Jews hold in reverence the same variety of deity as their Christian brethren, they are able to dialogue in a far more agreeable atmosphere and share Judaism's precepts with them.

I should also add a love for Israel means embracing the Jewish state and respecting the religions who are there. One does not need the gospel to love Israel / to be a Zionist. I respect Christianity and appreciate the warmth and support that Evangelists offer Israel from around the world but to say that a love for Israel can only come from the "power of the Gospel" is insulting. The Jewish people were in Israel long before Christ. Our link to this land has nothing to do with Christianity.

I can only assume this is a Jews for Jesus missionary or perhaps a SDA missionary teaching the Shema. As someone who has spent time in PNG and who openly spoke about being Jewish there was never any group claiming to be Jewish and I travelled through out the country. The talk of this being a lost tribe is pure nonesense. While it is novel to see this, the Shema has clearly just been taught to these tribe.

Only the ones who follow Yeshua as the Messiah are Israel no matter who they are (Jew or Greek). According to Shaul's letter to the Romans (Romans 9-11) both Jews and Greeks should be grafted-in to Israel through the faith in Yeshua Messiah.

@TheWatchman144K Shaul the Benjaminite was a Torah teacher. Being grafted-in to Israel is not a "new testament" invention, but it is based on the Torah and the Prophets. Not only natural born Israelites (12 Hebrew tribes) were called out from Egypt in Exodus, but a mixed multitude of people (Egyptians and other people). So, we see from the Torah that everyone who have faith in the God of Israel through Yeshua Messiah are Israel. The rock who followed Israel in the wilderness was the Messiah.
