This is one of the best MD80 videos on Youtube. Great approach, and the sound is great too. Nice to hear those engines spooling up on auto throttle during the base turn to adjust the speed according to ATC instructions.

It depeneds where you sit on the 737, but I reckon it would be whinier and with a louder reverse thrust. Why do you ask?

@WiiVideoFan2007 It depends on whether it is an older or newer 737. The 737-100 and 200 series planes had JT8D low-bypass turbofan engines just like the MD80. The newer 737-300 and all currently manufactured 737's use the GE CFM56 high-bypass turbofan. Very different sound.

I do not agree on the fact that MD's are difficult to land. Hard landings can be the result of weather or pilot skills or a combination of them. Some pilots who are quite good, prefer to land harder and others have the soft touch...it is most of the times the man not the machine

no ksea is right it can be seattle internal or seatac airport but it is all so ksea as a code name for the airport.
