@redsunflower67 You got it right. They had a series of commercials featuring a Channel 11 ad man trying to come up with "The Big Idea", and somehow he'd always miss seeing the Twin Towers. I'm 43 and fondly remember when my cable company here in northeastern PA carried WPIX. (I miss the Sunday morning Abbott and Costello movies!) I even remember when they featured a 3-D movie and the promos used a clip from "The Honeymooners" where Ralph says he's waiting for 3-D television before buying a set.
0:22--man, Channel 11 used to show the movie (and the actual show) "Fame" A LOT!!! I definitely remember that back in the 80's & early-90's. Just like Channel 9 (WWOR) used to show "The Warriors" all the time, Channel 11 used to air "Fame" the exact same way. Ahh...the good ol' days of NYC television. :-) Also, I haven't seen the movie "Angel Dusted" (0:13--1981 made-for-T.V. flick starring Jean Stapleton. And, a very young Helen Hunt) in a LONG time! Channel 11 used to show all the good shit.
@BrooklynEagle Yes! I remember PIX showing "Fame" for hours at a clip! Also, loved the "Odd Couple" repeats & the best was when summer came & I could stay up for "Honeymooners".
WPIX officially became "11 Alive" in September 1976, with a great jingle (which I've mostly forgotten- except the last part: "Hey, you can see it...we're really flying high! A change is coming on...11 Alive!"), and stayed that way for about 20 years. This is probably a February 1985 movie promo, initially seen at the end of January, right through the first two weeks of February.
I remember "PIX". I recall that the kids that went pixpixpixpixpixpix very fast tended to win more often. I cant recall the prizes that they gave out. I tried to enter and mailed in my name, phoen number, address, etc, but they never responded.
Ah yes, from the beginning of WPIX's transition back to the Circle 11 logo in the mid 1980s. Do you know that a lot of their stationery during the "11 Alive" period still featured the Circle 11, as did their ground floor and station office entrances in The News Building?

@BrooklynEagle Angel Dusted also featured Miss Stapleton's son John Putch, who is her image.

Dear TapThatt, The last time that I saw that Logo was in a back issue of a
NYC/NJ/Ct.edition of "TV Guide"..otherwise..I haven't seen it in
years. I'm sorry..I wish that I could be of more help to you.

Dear Tapthatt, The first logo that WPIX TV Ch.11 in NYC
ever had? was a photo of a human hand..turn the channel dial
on an old Analog tv set to the number 11.

@143AC interesting. have you seen that any where?

I remember TV PIX very well. It was fun. I wrote to TV PIX twice. But unfortunately, WPIX did not call me to play. Oh well.
Everytime I heard 11 Alive, I was like saying "Can't you just say channel 11?"
That's because channel 11 sounds a lot more representable than 11 Alive. Not to mention, the 11 Alive jingle was so annoying.

Does anyone remember TV PIX?
It was where contestants played video games on the air and to shoot aliens or whatever you had to say "PIX."
I think the winner got a Carvelle birthday party or some shit.
