Heej, i got the same problem, with my pc,, i have to got to un-connected my hard-drive and connected again.... if that doesn't work you can always reset the hole systeem with pressing F8 repeatly... untill you see to reset etc....

Try this go into the COMS and change your SAT RAID config to another driver then save restart this might let the computer restart Mine did the same thing!

@TheAppleKid2011 i had the same problem 2. when i went to go fix it to a person who knows how to fix he told me that the mother board overheated and it will cost 400 bucks to fix it. luckily my dad had a friend that fixed it and upgraded it to a windows vista instead of xp for 100 bucks

i know how to fix it, go to boot menu and set everything to default and then try again if it fails change it to IBM in boot mode.

Dude your windows is toast, bad, corrupted, damaged.. I go use the recovery discs or original OEM windows,, partition the HD and format it and reload windows...I dont see other solution.

i have an old dell.. it freezes up.. and it doesnt come up with the option to boot from a CD drive.. the only thing it has is the main hard drive. and a removable dev.. the only rem. dev. it recognizes is a floppy disk drive.. i have 2 disk drives and cant boot from anything else? WTF

You deleted a system file and that was a mistake in the first place. When it says, DELL and loads up, hit F11 to restore it to it's factory settings. It should replace the missing system file with a backup copy. I deleted windows/system32/config/system­, but my HP computer saved a backup copy and I was saved. Shame yours doesn't. I feel sorry for you. If pressing F11 fails then you need a copy of Windows XP handy. If you don't then get one. You can try System Restore but that's pretty useless.

lol ik how to fix it.u have either a boot virus or your hard drive is just correupted from either beeing bumped 2 hard or power outtage.u have to download a copy of windows and put it on a CD and re install.its the only way it will work.u can download 1 from thepiratebay,org.just go to the website and download a copy torrent then download a torrent downloader and burn windows to a CD and make sure u have a key to.u can find keys on youtube

I know it sounds simple but it will work..........................­......The black screen is because it is trying to find the information and your battery has losend or the memory stick has become lose and then when back in .........make sure the tabs are pressed in on both to make a good contact with the copper.....................see ya

The sulution is as simple as this.....so you know what your memory stick is? it is the long card that is in between to white tabs......first turn off and unplug the computer.....then take the memory stick out and the little watch battery battery out......then wait about four minutes and place them both back in and plug it back in turn it on and it's done.......it is a system reset but doesn't take anything off of the hard drive or system........................­.This solution will work

if you have so much stuff running on your computer that's y safe mode is going slower you might have to scan your computer

put in the disc for windows xp. select the "repair recovery files" option. worked for me, and i didnt lose any of the memory. (hope that helps)
