  • This and Memorials/Rebuilding Serenity scenes constitute two moments in films where I simply can't help but smile at the beauty of what I'm seeing and listening to. Wonderful stories, wonderfully made :)

  • I really wish they held that last chord for a bit more instead of ending with the joke. Oh well, great movie

  • "What was that?"

  • Beautiful. :')

  • Such a beautiful soundtrack. I could listen to it for hours.

  • @JSYBen could? You mean you don't??

  • @feathertopDT Of course i do :) Just trying to hide my inner nerd, and now failing miserably :)

  • I love the way it ends. The music gets to it's peak, then a panel of the ship falls off. Mal- What was that?

  • I'm not going to lie. This brought me the closest to crying i've been since i first saw 'The Message'

  • "You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as a turn of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' before she keels. Makes her a home."

Beautiful... Just... So god damn beautiful.

  • The last 15 minutes of Serenity are possibly the greatest ending of any movie I've ever seen.

  • Ummm, although the subtitles read "tells you she's hurtin' before she keels," the word Mal speaks is "keens", a verb meaning to cry out in a long wail, usually of sorrow or mourning, but could be pain. Or the anguish of pain. Definitely a sound of acute distress.

  • "You know the first rule of flyin'?"

"I do.. but it's good to hear you say it."

  • @TheLordofError The actual quote is:

Mal: But it ain't all buttons and charts, little albatross. You know what the first rule of flying is? Well, I suppose you do, since you already know what I'm about to say.

River Tam: I do. But I like to hear you say it.

  • Aw, that crescendo ... Wow. I love this piece. Love the movie, the series ... Thank you, Joss and company, for bringing it to us. :)

  • I miss this show something terrible.

Good job killing that which is an epic legacy.

  • But it ain't all buttons and charts, little albatross...

  • The Storm is getting worse.........but We'll pass through it soon enough....

  • too beautiful ... has me in tears!!

  • Love...

you can learn all the math in the 'verse,

but if you take a boat in the air that you dont love,

it'll shake you off just as sure as a turn of the worlds.

Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down...

Tells you she's hurting before she keels...

    Makes her a home.

  • I love this music... I love this show and the movie..

    Nothing could be improved..

  • So I'm just going to be over here crying, kay.

  • @6235river

    May I cry with you?

  • @underwatercookie We can cry together. u____u

  • @6235river *bawls unmanly tears on cookie's shoulder*

  • "this is your captain speaking, we going to experience some slight turbulence... and then explode!"

  • I also love it, in this show, when Mal says "You already know ti don't you?" and River replies with "Yes ... but I'd like you to tell me anyway" she just wants to be normal ... such a BEAUTIFUL ending to the film, amazing scene!

  • such a incredible film

  • keep flying, gorram right!!

The best t.v show and film ever commited to, er, film - is that 'Whedonesque'?

  • keep flying, gorram right!!

  • ... "What was that?!"

  • @Angelus12308

Couldn't be said better my friend. Well said indeed! Hope this gets 100 votes up.

    Remember everybody keep flying!

  • Fox showed the episodes out of order, poorly advertised this masterpiece of a show, and didn't even show the pilot episode for the longest time... I wish it would have started on SciFi... at least then it would have had a chance... I hate Fox for this

  • So overwhelming, so beautiful.

  • Too bad FOX hates firefly :(

  • They can't take the skies from us.

  • Best part starts at 0:49 Love it!

  • Love...

you can learn all the math in the 'verse,

but if you take a boat in the air that you dont love,

it'll shake you off just as sure as turn of the worlds.

Love keeps er' in the air when she oughta fall down...

Tells you she's hurting for, she keens...

    Makes her home.

  • brilliant. Joss Whedon certainly wanted out with a bang. And he didnt fail.

  • I wish I wish I'd seen this at the cinema. I love those characters so very much :(

  • "--But it ain't all buttons and charts, little albatross. You know what the first rule of flyin' is? Well I suppose you do, since you already know what I'm about to say."

"I do... but I like to hear you say it."

"Love... Know all the math in the 'verse but you take a boat 'to the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off sure as the turnin' o' worlds. Love keeps her flying when she oughta fall down... Tell you she's hurting 'for she keens.... makes her a home."

  • Keep flying

  • Beautiful scene, beautiful music!!

  • Wind blows northerly, I go north. That's who I am.

  • Perfect perfect final scene.

  • "Let me make one thing abundantly clear.. I do the job, I get paid."

We need more Captain Mal's in this world.

Serenity is, in a way, all our homes.

Never stop believing, never give up and keep on flying.

    Browncoats forever brothers and sisters..

  • 0:09-0:35.

    Amazing :).

  • "What was that?"

    Loved this movie.

  • My most favorite part of the entire scene is the metaphor of the storm on the planet, compared to the trouble they went through to show the truth of the alliance to the verse, "The storm's getting worse..." "We'll pass through it soon enough", it always makes me hopeful, keep flying.

  • @Res501MK uhhuh!

  • @Res501MK You do know that the storm metaphor is easily one of the most overused metaphors in movies and TV shows, right?

  • @TheRamen6378 You do know that you sound pretty douchey right about now? Just because something's overused doesn't make it not good in context. Look at Lux Aeterna - easily one of if not THE most overused piece of dramatic music everywhere, but it's still a brilliant piece of modern classical music. :3

  • @SerenityScore That's not the main issue I'm having right now. If something's overused, then people should, for the most part, know that it's overused. Res501MK's treating the storm metaphor as if it's something revolutionary, something that's never been seen or used in movies or the like before, when it's clearly not. Anyway, lets all just admit right now that Serenity, although I enjoy seeing it a lot, does have some flaws that make it on the verge of being your average action flick.

  • @TheRamen6378 I honestly didn't get that vibe from his post.

  • @TheRamen6378 I just like how its concise and meaningful, I use it often myself, I guess thats why I like it so much, there is a reason that things are cliche after all.

  • @Res501MK Yes, the last 10 minutes of Serenity are my favorite of the entire series and movie.

I especially liked right before this when Mal and Zoe were talking

    Mal: Think she'll hold together?

Zoe: She's tore up plenty, but she'll fly true.

Mal: Make sure everything is secure, it could be bumpy.

    Zoe: It always is.

  • @MCtargoon That scene always makes me think of Zoe, instead of Serenity. "She's tore up plenty" over her loss of Wash, but "she'll fly true." she'll stay strong. <333

  • Keep it shinny, fellow Browncoats...

  • Can't stop the signal my friend.... : )

  • Shiney, heh.

  • I love this score.

  • Truely one of the most memorable moments in my cinema experiences and the music makes it pop!!
