I do the same thing except I use a curling wands and pin the curls to my head to cool and they can last for up to 4 days depending! My hair is like down to my lower back so it's heavy and VERY thick and I try not to over heat process it

@ChytheKittyCat Yes I have been doing it with a wand for around a week. Just use plenty of hairspary and hold it for around 50 secs. However the next day curls are very loose yet pretty :) I love 2 day curls :D

you're not supposed to wear your hair in a hair tie when you sleep it causes a lot of breakage! the hair tie rubs against your hair on your pillow its really bad to do!

I've heard that before, but it is not 'major' damage and breakage really. I have done it for a while, and at the moment, I barely have split ends, and I would know since my mom is a hairstylist. Good tip though. ;]

so many people are mentioning that they can keep curls in with a flat iron, it's the total opposite for me! i can go for 4 days with my hair staying curled using a curling iron, only hairspraying on the first and third days. whenever i use a flat iron my curls look great, but then drop out by halfway through the day, it's so confusing! it's not like my hair is hard to curl or anything, and i'm using a ghd. maybe i'm just doing it wrong!

@Mathildemar my hair is ULTRA long, and at night I stick it up in a extremely loose bun and hold it with those new Spin Pins. They come in a pack of two, and they are spirals, you just spin them into your hair and they hold really well. I use them every night! And whenever I want to do a bun of any kind.

Elle! You could just curl your hair with a flat iron and lightly spray it with hairspray, it lasts a lot longer than if you curl it with an actual curling iron, i wore it for 3 days straight and it goes from a tigh-ish curl, to a natural looking waves and the third day its just soft curls, you should try it out!

I watched your beachy curls and decided to try it one day and I loved it! you are so right about how it holds better (when I curl my hair the normal way it only stays that way for two hours max even with hair spray) and I really love how it stays for another day because I have quite long and thick hair so it takes me around an hour to do my whole head

I have naturally curly hair and I've finally figured out how to keep my curls nice so I don't have to straighten my hair too often. I used to wish I had straight hair, but now I'm thankful for my curls because I wouldn't want to have to deal with heat to straighten and curl my hair, but kudos to those who do that and still have healthy hair xD I may make a tutorial on how I get my hair to stay nice for 2-3 day soft curls before having to wash it, but for natural curly heads. ;)

OMG, this is exactly how I curl my hair and it lasts for 2 or sometimes 3 days. I think it's the way of curling that makes it stay "done" for so long (wrapping the hair on the upside down iron instead of clamping). BUT I sleep without putting my hair in a loose bun. I tried doing so but it didn't end up nicely for me. I guess it depends. I recommend this hair style to everyone, I get so many compliments every time with this style even on the 2nd or the 3rd day.

@Kaiti625 I think you should try using dry shampoo. :) And also if you start to wash you hair every second day, you hair will stop being as greasy and there will be no need to wash it everyday. You just have to last the first couple of days when it's a bit greasy and stick to washing it every second day. :)

I have greasy hair when I straighten it, but because I only wash my hair once a week when I straighten it, it only gets greasy near the end of the week and I just manage to fix my hair to make it less noticeable until I wash it on the weekend. Washing your hair too often makes you produce more oil, especially if you're using a sulfate shampoo. I use a sulfate-free, sodium-free shampoo and conditioner. Much healthier for your hair (and scalp).

@ManeeshMaya she used a very thin hair tie almost a rubber band sort of and she didnt do a tight bun it was very loose...if u use a thicker hair tie or if u do a tight bun u will get that kinky look to ur hair ....hope that helps :)

I really like your "upside down" curling technique!! Thanks for the tip!! Unfortunately, I doubt this would last 2 days. There were barely any curls left at the end of day 1.
