loved the big breakfast...johnny vaughn was and still is very naturally funny...a gr8 comic talent...this reminds me off the 90's sooo much man...was watchin johnny in that 'ORRIBLE' on here...that was a damn funny show too...with the gr8 ricky grover...there's sumthin totally british about vaughny and his comedy style...CLASS!...i say bring back the big breakie too
Wow what a blast from the past. How dumb are those first two callers though? They wouldn't have got it if they had a whole minute! 190 - more tea vicar, 200 - more tea vicar, 210 - more, 220 - more etc. etc. I could have gotten it in 15 seconds like this: 300, 500, 400, 450, 425, 410, 415, 412, 411.
@automat3000 I know, it was frustrating to hear so many callers to this game not applying the simple logic of narrowing down the numbers through the right sort of higher and lower guesses. There were even many occasions when someone would play it right, narrow it down to within a short range then go mad and guess something ludicrously off the scale.
Got any footage of Sara Cox on The Big Breakfast? Loved the low camera angles of her boobs; as if standing to attention, as I recall, in the garden...?
Has anybody got a copy of the 'rave' game these two played. They wore puffa jackets and run around like coked up loons. That was hilarious, can't remember the namme of it though. I think Pete Tong was on the decks (or someone similar). =)
@birdy100 I'm fairly sure I don't have any more of this game. Can't think of the name, but the second character Denise played was an overly enthusiastic, tamborine jangling, religious singing hippie type.
@birdy100 No, it had been running for a few weeks by this point. I seem to recall that this was during the final week of it's first J&D run. To be replaced by Santa's Stockings at the start of December.
@birdy100 I'd say that's right. That would have worked out nicely for the launch of the replacement christmas competition, as Monday would have been December 1st. And this is from the same episode as the 'Vanilla' clip, where Phil Gayle says "it's close to christmas".
i believe it was called 'willing and cable',johnny played the camp nephew yeh wen he had to adjust the ariel so liza could see the tv picture.one of my favourites
Has anybody got the big breakfast where they used to do a sketch of a hairdressers? Johnny Vaughan was the hairdresser and worked for his auntie (denise VH) but I can't remember anything about it apart from it was piss funny. If anyone has it please upload.
That was thatch of the day - Johnny and Liza were told by Channel 4 that they couldn't do it anymore if they didn't calm it down - so, in true BB style, they got worse and were banned from doing it again!
i totally agree we need big brekky back i was late for school for it then late for work it was absoluteley genious!!! im gonna start pestering channel 4.
rainbowfairy420 - Sadly this show is no longer around, it ran out of steam when the guy in this clip left and was axed a year later in 2002. The only thing we have now is GMTV, which is all about outraged neurotic mothers. Vicar is an english term for a preacher/priest.
God I used to love this so much, he 97-98 era was fantastic. Not long before the 2 main nails n the coffin came along Richard Bacon and Donna Air <shudder>
why did it end

They always had a ball on the Big Breakfast.
THEE BEST SHOW ON BRITISH TV EVER !!!
In the 90's i always used to be late for school as i would not leave the house until the Big Breakfast had ended at 9:00.
9:00 is the same time i had to be at school for and i was always still at home at 9:00 and my school was a 1 mile walk away lol.

Denise kills it at the end.

When someone 'kills it' here in England it means they spoilt it.
I hope you mean the other meaning.
The rave part was always my favourite bit.
KevL75 2 years ago 2
Well im from England and when you say someone killed it, means they did great. A regional difference perhaps?

So what do they mean in football commentating when they say they killed the ball.
