Imagine contributing $3 million to defend a traitor to your country, because you stand to make even more money if he is found not guilty.

So Libby has rested his "defense." Am I nuts, or did he just in effect give up? His lawyers called a few reporters who said Libby hadn't leaked Plame's name to THEM, and a Cheney staffer who talked about how busy Libby was with dangerous affairs of state. (Fitzgerald destroyed the guy with a single question.)

They concede he made false statements to the grand jury, skipped the memory defense, skipped the "they wanted to protect Rove" defense, and neither Libby nor Cheney testified.

Strange.

I hope Libby's mommy (if she's alive), feels that she's raised a sell out, chicken sh*t son.

Libby probably sees it as just the opposite, that he's loyally taking the fall for the true guilty party, his longtime boss Dick Cheney.

You're right. What boils my blood is that in the past, leaked identities have led to fatalities. He sold out his country by allowing the big boys get away with a crime, if indeed that's what happened.
