This is great. Too bad most American middle-schoolers can't do something like this. It's because they're too busy watching reality TV, and trashing their ears with manufactured "music" sung by pop stars.
They guy that strums has the most boring job ever. Anyways, loved the performance! Had so much depth and sounded so full, eventhough they were only using guitars =)
Your arrangement was teriffic . You must have a wonderful teacher , and all of you should be proud of yourselves . Thank you for letting us hear your group . Please let us hear some more songs from your class in the future .
@samlacausa You are so right. I once practised a Vivaldi duet with my music teacher for months until perfect. On the day of the performance he decided to substitute his 'working' guitar for a Ramirez which so outclassed my own in terms of tone and volume that the duet was ruined. It was like matching a Bechstein grand with some old upright bar-piano.
But why is no applauding? Is it the mentality or a custom in South Korea? Or was no one listening, sounded like there was an audience, the coughs and so on.
This piece of music was, as I learned, originally composed as a funeral dirge. But when played at a different tempo, it is so beautiful that you forget it's original purpose. Played by this ensemble of guitars, it is so very beautiful. I haven't heard it played in an ensemble of guitars before and am so very impressed. You all should be very proud of yourselves. Music is an international language that needs no interpreter. Thanks so much for posting this sorjoo.
Just because one is of asian descen doesn't mean they are all geniuses. Most children born into asian families are raised in a way that motivates them to for example play musical instruments at a young age since that was an ideal for society. I just had to bring that up because it seems to put down other cultures (I'm Filipino by the way).
Anyways this was an amazing orchetrated group of middle schoolers. Guitar ensemble demostrates a beautiful sort of unity.
This is simply beautiful, Sorjoo. I like the way you began, by showing that big bass fretless instrument. And I could identify that lovely plucking sound, which gives a subtle point to the rich, rich sounds of Pachelbel's Canon.
This ensemble really sounds like a popular Colombian (my country) ensemble called "Estudiantina" (Student's orchestra) that plays Colombian Folk music. Awesome Job! Congratulations!

I think they did this good job for the South Korean Intermediet High school kids range between 12 to 14 year kids.
I think all listener should be appliciated about how difficult to assemble those kids to became one movement.
Teacher is not allow to abuse languages or beating kids like comminist countries.

guitar is hardest band match instrument because of its short tone.
if 2 guitars mist match note in 1/8 second, you can say it is harmony, like a 12 strings.
delay 1/4 second is not acceptable because your tone go behide the next note of others
if 3 guitars not precise match you will hear nothing but lots of noise.
they matching 30 guitars is hard to imaging. good job
