  • Thanks for the upload but the music is not necessary.

    God bless you!

  • great !!!!

  • where are you men. we were destined for greatness.

  • Christianity preys upon the weak.

  • @ZombehWolf Your right. "Christianity", the religion, is built on tradition based, empty Dogmas that prey upon people's weaknesses. That's the difference between Followers of Christ, and Christians. True Disciples follow after Jesus through there weakness and there strength. "Christians" seek on those parts of Faith that make them comfortable, and thus there weakness makes them a target for men who would seek to use that for there benefit.

  • AMENNNNNNNN

  • Thanks for the awesome awesome vid!!

  • great video . Thanks, but the music is distracting.

  • Brought me to my knees!

  • AMEN!

  • You put this to "This Will Destroy You"? You're my new best friend!

  • i think you have to understand the context of suffering. if it's according to God's will or for God's purpose. but i mean if u humiliate or offend me for my faith, it doesn't mean i'm gonna stop believing. if it's meaningless suffering, i'm not gonna do it. but if it's for God's purpose, if it would be to save people, to reach out to ppl, then that is a worthy cause. am i ready for such an endeavor? i'm not sure. But, if called upon, and the time comes, I hope that i would prove faithful.

  • awesome post! thank you! God Bless!

  • i love this song, my favorite song with an excellent messege

  • This song is called Three Legged Workhorse

  • I love the message, but does anyone know the instrumental name? Like the audio in the background.

  • salvation is a free gift but we can't pick and choose scripture verses and attribute doctrine to them. bible clearly states god chooses us, not the other way around.

  • What song is this by ''This Will Destroy You?''

  • Comment removed

  • It's a shame that a Desiring God conference is held at a church of who's leading pastor Rick Warren leads people away from sound doctrine. A pastor who uses " The Message" in his bestseller. A bilble "translation" with the phrase As above So below

A well known occult phrase. It comes down to pantheism

    But Jesus said

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. People do your research, it's the least you can do for you eternal destanation

  • @pandacrunch

I'm praying right now for you that you would no longer exchange the truth of God for a lie. That you will no longer worship creation, but the creator. I'm praying for someone in your life to step up and share with you the gospel of Jesus Christ and for your eyes to be opened. I'm praying for you, dear friend.

  • Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.

  • salts & lights are joyful embrace of suffering.

  • The salts & lights of the world: has this joyful embrace of suffering.

  • Amen!

  • Uhhhhhh... riiiiiiiiight.... how about we trying talking to God like a rational and normal human being. This guy is way to theatrical and insane. Whack job! Try Charles Stanley he's normal.

  • @mec554 But God isn't a normal human being. He should be honored as the Supreme being in the Universe. It doesn't sound like you thought about what you wrote.

  • joyful embrace of suffering

    no such thing

i mean if i finally met such a person i would believe it is possible and good. Right now i dont believe neither

  • @niinja2

a joyful embrace of suffering is legit. but only possible with Jesus.

which gives real testimony to how truly powerful He is.

    check this out: youtube.com/watch?v=kPF1FhCMPuQ

The woman in this video calls cerebral palsy a gift.

  • @mdwren88 Who would think cerebral palsy is a gift from God? Acts 10:38 says Jesus healed ALL who were oppressed by the DEVIL. If it's God's will for people to be sick then why was Jesus healing everyone in His ministry? If it is God's will for people to be sick, Jesus was dividing His own kingdom. John 10:10 says the devil comes to steal, kill & destroy. CP does all three. Luke 13:16 says that it's Satan who binds people with sickness & disability. I hope you don't think God wants people sick.

  • @polishdread I would see why you would say that, but in the same manner, Jesus heals a blind man- a sickness of sorts, unnatural and broken, and says that man's blindness was to demonstrate God's glory.

  • @polishdread John 9:1-3 says, "As He passed by, He saw a man blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him. "

  • @polishdread If God is sovereign He must be sovereign over ALL things. And God says in Isaiah 45:7, "The One forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating calamity; I am the LORD who does all these."

    God does all things.

  • @TheEntak FORTY SEVEN Translators working under the following rules article [4]" When a word hath divers significations, that to be kept which hath been most commonly use by the most Ancient fathers, being agreeable to the propriety of the place, and analogy of the faith."If you have never read the comments and prayers of the translators in the 1611 edition king James,...It is moving! The translation was never [Calamity] it was translated [Evil] By men that feared tampering with God's word.FYI

  • @niinja2 The suffering itself is not a gift. If a Christian rejoiced that he had cancer, I'd call him crazy. The way you rejoice is by saying, through all the pain and all the heart-ache that is really there, that God is still your all-in-all. No Christian desires to hurt, but their hope is that when the pain comes, they would be able to glorify God by the way that they continue to follow God, not leaving Him. It's a painful reliance and real hope in God that perseveres through deep pain.

  • @niinja2 Hebrews 12:2- "looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of God." That is a joyful embrace of suffering.

  • @vladdy3

    no that is quoting scripture

  • @niinja2

It's all about your perspective! Everything he's saying here is backed up in Scripture. Romans 5:3, Matthew 5, and James 1:2-3 all say we can rejoice in suffering!

Look at Paul. 2 Corinthians 11:23-28 shows many of the trials he went through. Yet in Philippians 3:8-10 (which he wrote while he was in jail, waiting to be executed), he says he counts EVERYTHING as loss! Why? "That I may know Him and the power of his resurrection, and may share in His sufferings..."

  • @shcottyb90

yeah its all nice and dandy while its in a book, but i would like to meet someone in person who can say he has suffered and it was joyfull.

  • @niinja2

I'm sorry you haven't personally known anyone like that. It's certainly a blessing to have godly examples like that to follow and learn from.

However, it's important to remember that the Bible is more than just a book, and those who wrote it leave examples behind that we can follow, whether or not we've met them "in person."

Check out what 1 Peter 4:12-13 says about suffering. With that in mind, remember Phil. 4:13 and where our strength comes from!

  • @niinja2 jesus. "fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 12:2 He suffered in this life, for the glory of heavenly life. He looked to God and looked at us with so much love, that He gladly would suffer and die for mankind, because He loved so much. It's like a mother who would gladly die for her child, because she loves her child so much.

  • @yelloputz

    yeah jesus did it.

is it honnest to ask this from people?

will you embrace suffering if i start humiliate and offend you?

  • @niinja2 well, like it says in the verse, Jesus is our pioneer and perfecter. He's our example, and also our helper. I think as we look to him, we gradually grow and become more and more like him. But it is a process. So I think that is honest and fair. And God and the Spirit works in us and helps us along the way. It is not by just self-suffiency, but surrender to and reliance on God.

Uhh, hahaha if it's online, in conversation, i don't mind. something more, i'd rather not...haha

  • @niinja2 -What I've found to be true in my life is that our greatest need isn't for our circumstances to change, but to actually meet with God and know the hope that is ours. It's something we all have to wrestle with to find, but it's there man.

  • @niinja2 I AM joyfully suffering for jesus, and I do not love my life even unto death

  • @Benzkopf and may god give me strength to hold fast until the end. Because jesus gave himself for me this is the only answer

  • @Benzkopf why do you suffer for Jesus , didn't he suffer for us so we dont have to?

    how exactly do you suffer?

  • @niinja2 because it is such joy and honor to suffer for him. he suffered so we will be saved from the wrath of god, but that means in this life we have to go through terrible fiery sufferings. Because we love jesus

  • @Benzkopf

wrath of god is suffering? no?

  • @niinja2 the world hates us because we are not of this world, because god has called us out of it...we are totally different, thats why we suffer. but one day there will be a great judgement and this wicked world will be damned and we will be in glory

  • @Benzkopf

you did not answer my question, is wrath of god suffering?

  • @niinja2 wrath of god is terrible suffering, yes, it is being cut off from jesus christ and eternal punishment, the smoke of people's terrible sufferings rising up forever and ever in eternal hell before the holy angels and jesus

  • @Benzkopf

Jesus saved you so you don't suffer the wrath of god, but you suffer for Jesus anyway?

  • @niinja2

What I am suffering is not the wrath of God but the birhtsufferings a woman has to go through so she will be joyful when she has the baby, so it is suffering, yet it is joyful, because it is such honor to suffer for jesus, one day he will come back and judge the living and the dead. Pray that God may show you what I am trying to explain to you, it is so great it can't be expressed in words

  • @Benzkopf

    I actually think i understand.

Can you tell me please what are fine details of your suffering, how do you suffer exactly?

  • @niinja2

Sure, people at school speak all kinds of evil things against me for the sake of Jesus, even one teacher ridicules and laughs at me, I WRESTLE with God in prayer, I lost most of my friends for the sake of Jesus, even my own family members at times rise up against me because of my faith in Jesus, but I take it all with joy, as I said

I live in a country where you at this time usually dont get killed for being as christians as in many countries, but I am persuaded it will come

  • @Benzkopf

dude, do not take this the wrong way and i dont mean it as an insult but i need to know: Have you considered the possibility that people persecute you because of your personality , not your faith? Im not saying this is so, but how do you know?

  • @niinja2 they would not speak all kinds of evil things against me if I did not believe on the lord Jesus, they would not insult them if I just participated in the sins this world loves, they did not do in the past when I wasnt converted

  • God bless you...

  • one person accidentally pushed thumbs down, its ok, we are a forgiving bunch

  • This is Beautiful.

  • Awesome video! : ) GOD Bless You!

  • @coffee4everyoneMD people pray for this man, show him the glory and love of our God

  • @onetruth146 pretty sure the song is quiet by this will destroy you.

  • Anyone know the name of the song?

  • It bothers me that there is nice furniture in the background. There are dying christians starving and living in poverty and "christians" in america actually spend their money on buying lavish things for their church. The church is US. In every christian, we are the church, and christ is inside of us and yet we spend our money on such things and are hypocrites.

  • @superdubman999 who are you to judge. were they donated?

  • @superdubman999 Dude, He is not saying you can have anything. he is saying the church needs to be free of stuff as in are we spending 90% on us or God. so on. It really is a condition of the heart. on the flip side of that You sound like you would like the book radical. great book and it hits home and is something we the church are having to work on.

  • @theghost201000 I mean i dont want to sound like your typical live super poor kind of guy. But i think where our money goes needs to be prioritized. Starting with the unfortunate

  • @superdubman999 I think Piper would agree with you. Piper is not rich by any means. He is one of the "Popular" preachers that will do anything for free. He never asks for money. Nobody is perfect though sir, he didn't build that church. He stepped into the pulpit of a church that already was established. Let me ask you if he went into the church and threw out or sold everything or if he went in and preached to hundreds and getting them not to waste their lives be more effective?

  • yoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • this is a sermon about worship.

  • Wow is all im gonna say!! Where are these radical christians? Why are we not radical for Christ?

  • @QuestionAThousand Yes Paul may have quoted philosophers of old. But that means nothing. He applies them, like you said, to God the Father which ultimately make them true. But only when applied to ultimate truth (something many don't believe). Secondly there is nothing wrong with philosophy. Paul is very philosophical in his writings at times, namely Romans. Many times it is a very relevant way to communicate with his listeners.

  • @renovatio1988

Oh, I agree with you completely! :) We are on the same side haha. I typed the last reply pretty quick and didn't mean to say the philosopher's sayings were true. The context for his question and my reply is someone's post negatively stating that the band for the background music is pagan and wore a shirt saying "burn the church". But I told him "just as Paul uses pagan philosophy to argue the existence of God in Acts 17:28, so I use this song for the glory of Christ." :)

  • @renovatio1988

(I've adjusted that last post which you're replying to) Thanks for the heads up and boldness to say something. May Jesus receive ALL glory forever.

  • No!

  • amen. just want HIM

  • the best sermon ive ever heard. Thanks

  • That was the second most beautiful prayer ever :)

    God Bless You :)

  • I absolutely Love John Piper! Glory to be God for this man..Jesus is the KIng of Kings and Lord of Lords...

  • Jesus, please...please...please be with me...and help me to count it all loss regardless of new age theories or youtube comments, regardless of "Christians" and persecution. It's in your name, Amen

  • rdor011....

What Piper is saying is to kill the very disease I am fighting....I will win the Battle...Because He is my VICTORY

That disease is the great I AM of ME..do you know what I mean?

  • Jesus Chrsit is the reason for your life my friends. He is the One. The One who created the Universe and its limitless wonders. He is the One who wrote the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai. He is the ONE who DIED! And SUFFERED! BEcause YOU & ME could not keep them. We are so inferrior and yet we think that we can live like we know. The most beneficial thing for you is to throw your Life away for Christ. Trust me my friends, the life serveing yourself is one that is empty. I pray you listen to Piper

  • I think you're misunderstanding Piper's message...

This is probably because Christians and the Bible have (at least) two different ways of using the word "world." Piper is talking about the ungodly evil perverted "world". You are talking about the system of created things. We are to deny the ungodly things of the world, and seek God with all our being. But we also are to enjoy the creation God has made.

  • We are not to deny the World we are to live in. We are to be in the world, but not of it! Our desires should not be on the things of this world: sex, women, cars, clothes, money. But centered on the One who created it. We should not fear suffering for the One, the Saviour, Jesus Christ. We suffer for Him because we love HIm and our sufferings will be rewarded with great crowns. Relize my Brothers and Sisters, your life will NOT having meaning unless you are willing to SUFFER for Him. He did 4 U!

  • @rdor011

    the old paths are better...

  • preacher1171...i used to wonder that same thing...is god an egotisitical brat? why do we think that's just wrong? because to us humans we hate someone who is selfish and "egotistical"...but if you really think about what "God" is...if He isnt for Himself (alone) then the the IDEA of God collapses..isnt God is the only perfect, uncreated being. he doesnt want nething. it's logical that He's just the ultimate desire, goal, of everything in the universe, including himself. dats not ego..

  • Gods word says that we are to put off the dead works of sin and sin no more.

It says if we sin,not when we sin,but if we sin, God is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins.

Mt 5:48 speaks to us from Jesus, and it says that we are to be perfect just as our Father in heaven is perfect.

any time we compare our christianity with people,we will live like the scribes and pharisees.

Jesus said that unless our righteousness exceeds that of them, that we will not enter into heaven.

    pure!

  • actually, it says, "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive..." also, the verse right before that says, "If we say we have no sin,we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." (1 Jn. 1:8-9)

the standard is perfection, yes. but we all sin. however, "For our sake He made Him (Jesus) to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Corinth. 5:21)

  • @narrowpathnarrowgate the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart soul mind and strength... I submit to you that you have never in your life been able to do that.

  • I feel like there is too much emphesis put on not sinning here. The fact of the matter is that humans sin. I'm sure that under the beleifs of everyone here God is the only perfect being. More emphisis should be put on doing good in the world rather than not sinning. If we stop worrying about what we shouldn't be doing and start worrying about what we can do to improve the world and the lives of others so much more will be accomplished and the world will be a better place.

  • Actually, this video primarily talks about doing good in a radical way. But in order to truly do good that radically, we must repent from sin and trust Jesus. Yes, we all sin, but as believers, we must be on a path of sinning less...repenting and trusting Jesus more fully.

  • Jesus Christ said my kingdom is not of this world. Christ didnt come to improve the world and the lives of others HERE IN THIS WORLD and not make the world a better place. Christ came to seek the lost and we Christians should do the same through preaching of the gospel

  • This is the only world we truely know of though. In my opinion saying there is a heaven is like saying it is going to rain two months from today. You might be able to hypothesize that it will rain and even support that hypothesis with some evidence, but you don't really know unitl that day comes. This is why I live under the assumption that there is no God or heaven and try to make the most out of my life. If there is a God can he fault me for trying to do good in the world?

  • "If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world."

    — C.S. Lewis

why u limit "what we truely know" to what you can feel or see? aren't thoughts real? it's the same brain and neurons but some neural paths are realer than others?

  • And you call yourself a Preacher? A preacher of what? You are living exactly the way the Destroyer, Satan, wants you to live. My friend realize that because of your sin, and the fact that you are obviously in love with it, will put into Hell for an Eternity.

  • @preacher1171 Man I know where you're coming from but I have to disagree with you. True and saving faith is one of adamant confidence in the existence of His kingdom. There is no covering your bases with Christ. Faith is trust. The only way to salvation is through complete surrender of your life to Christ. Our idea of 'good works' is nothing in comparison to the almighty mercy and love of God. He won't fault you for trying to do good but on the day of judgement they will be useless without faith

  • OH...your talking about that feel good preaching.... yeah cause thats what christians have conformed to. SEEK GOD AND HIS FACE. Get desperate cry out to him like your life depends on it. and ask him to fill you up with his holy spirit! you will be changed through him. We should be sensitive to our sin! IT COST OUR SAVIOR HIS LIFE!!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK ITS GOING TO COST YOU?? Take my life LORD USE ME. I pray that MY heart would break for the lost, my life would burn for you so they dont burn!!

  • AMEN BROTHER!!!!

  • YOU ARE NOT SAVED! Such words are those of Fools! DO you realize that sin is huge deal?!!!? Do you realize that Jesus Christ, the God in Man's skin, perfect, and holy, the Creator of the Universe DIED because of Sin?

The World will be a better place when people like you finally look at sin for what is really is. An abomination to God. Please pray and get right with God!

  • @preacher1171 A preacher knows the needs of his congregation, and hopefully receives his message from God and delivers it by the Holy Spirit. You must eliminate sin in your life before you can do good works. Good works are a wrought by God. Part of being a child of God and taking part of his righteousness is a hatred of sin, God despises sin.

  • amen.

May the praise and glory be unto our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  • AMEN !

  • where are the men who count Gods worth more important to them than their daily food?

  • Brothers and sisters, this is faith: faith is serving God above indulging in stuff and sin because we belive that heaven is our reward. We believe that Jesus is our only way to heaven, and we store up treasures for ourselves in heaven by the godliness of our lives: that is the radical sacrifice. We are to kill our fleshly desires so that we can serve God and store heavenly treasures. Jesus taught opposite of the world: dont live for this world, but for the next one to come. Lets serve God always

  • This is where Chrisitanity loses me. It teaches that God loves all people in the world and that Jesus died for our sins, but then Christians go out and proclaim that the only way to heaven is through Jesus. Will God accept and forgive a sinner who believes and turn away an athiest who lives a life of virtue? If so then there are only two logical explanations. God is either an egotistical brat who only cares if people believe in him and not of how they lived or that this God is a myth to scare us

  • The problem is that we are ALL sinners. Without Jesus nobody lives a life of virtue. Compared to the purity and holiness of God, our "good" deeds are like dirty underwear (Isa. 64:6) because they are polluted by and motivated by our sinful selves. No one is good (Rom.1-3). We have sinned against an infinite God, requiring an infinite punishment. But Jesus, being God (infinite) and man, bore our punishment so that all who come to Him will be called God's children, and enjoy Him forever.

  • Comment removed

  • My friend...why so naive? God wants us to come to Him. Because of His perfect holiness, no sinfull being can enter His presence. This is or fault, starting with Adam & Eve. God wants you to come to Him so you can be saved from HEll.

These other religons exist to decieve the people of this world. They exist because Satan loves using Religon as a tactic to distract people from Christ and the love he shead on the Croos, 2000 years ago.

  • LISTEN TO BROTHER JOHN HERE PEOPLE!!!

You should be tired of living for anything but God and for anything but the Gift we will receive. Stop living for yourself, start serving God. DO NOT WASTE THE LIFE HE GAVE BACK TO YOU!!!

  • AMEN BROTHER!!!!

  • could you send me this any way to my email so I could put it on my ipod?

  • This sermon jam is a great blessing :) thanks for putting this up bro!

  • its all about money for the secular...but for us...in the light of christ...it is about a new life...a glorious life..in christ...we back our views by the book the truth and its about spreading love, clean love...straight shooting love...so straight its not comprehendible by the worldy...because everything in this world leads to death and evil...but everything in the spirit is light, truth, and joyfulness, and it is eternal

  • amen ..this he teaches is straight from the truth the bible...so straight it is salty...amen

  • Hey David is a good buddy of mine and hit me with a link... I love what you doing brother. This video was so powerful and real and needs to be heard by every church out there. Keep it up... Be Blessed

  • this video is phenomenal. straight-preaching!

  • crazy that they are using this song for this sermon of his... i saw this band recently and the drummer was wearing a shirt that said,"BURN YOUR LOCAL CHURCH." this crazy guy needs to do some research

  • dude, just as Paul uses pagan philosophy to argue the existence of God in Acts 17:28, so I use this song for the glory of Christ.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • 1) nobody is making or losing any money off it. 2) if anything, it's broadening their fan base.

ultimately, you're only problem with it is that this song is behind Christian material...if it was under anything else, you would have never made any comments. if you think the Christian faith is absurd, why are you so offended and threatened by it??

  • Comment removed

  • i'm done arguing with the simple minded

  • @mdwren

Paul uses pagan philosophy.. May you please explain a little more?

  • @QuestionsAThousand

Wow...this is realllly delayed. But sure! One example is in Acts 17:28. Paul likely quotes from two pagans (likely Epimenides of Crete and Aratus's poem "Phainomena"), but applies the truths (which were originally directed to pagan gods making them completely against God and untrue) to God the Father, making them completely true and glorious. Paul rips them out of context and applies them to God to prove his existence.
