there are some that need to be reached that will not listen to traditional church music, but will listen to this and when they grow and actually renew their minds they will grow to listen to less of this style and more traditional. I am one who hate traditional church any thing until I found love in all things that are God inspired and anointed by. Believe I know when something is not anointed by God - even the secular sound gospel music because it does not minster drawing you nigh to God.
The words make the song not the rhythms or harmonies. There are so many different genres of music and just because they choose to praise differently doesnt make it any less gospel than any other song. Sounds to secular its sounds like he's trying to please young people rather than God. Doing what the world is doing is not bringing people to Jesus. Love it!!!!! Detrick did it again with the help of God. I have a 15 year old who love his CD, I am gratful that detrick is showing the teens that are Holyghost filled that you can whorship God on a whole other level and still be called a christian. Deitrick has been my fav singer in all genres for years, Im all for gospel singers using bangin or what u call "wordly" beats..if that gets the attention of the secular crowd then good. A beats a beat, u glorifying God then thats what matters..if deitrick starts tossing money and pourin champaign on strippers in his videos then its time to be concerned.

there are some that need to be reached that will not listen to traditional church music, but will listen to this and when they grow and actually renew their minds they will grow to listen to less of this style and more traditional. I am one who hate traditional church any thing until I found love in all things that are God inspired and anointed by. Believe I know when something is not anointed by God - even the secular sound gospel music because it does not minster drawing you nigh to God.

The words make the song not the rhythms or harmonies. There are so many different genres of music and just because they choose to praise differently doesnt make it any less gospel than any other song. At least they're praising God rather than using there talents to draw people into the world. Their hearts are in the right place and it makes gospel music and exciting. It's about time someone stood up for the God's youth!!!

Sounds to secular its sounds like he's trying to please young people rather than God. Doing what the world is doing is not bringing people to Jesus. And I'm a young christian and I absolutely hate secular music with a passion so I wonder what makes him think that I or any young believer out would wanna listen to secular soundin gospel music when I just got away from secular music itself

@unblended31 Gospel hasn't lost its anointing at all..the anointing is carried from that individual and if the person hearing can't sense it then perhaps they need to pray about that.But Dietrick is awesome....I would much rather have kids banging to this than listening to Wheezy and Drake! @813carlie i completely agree!! It hasnt lost its annointing at all but instead its annoiting is being carried to a different group of people. We're suppose to save people- i take this music to school and im able to attract groups!Now the oppurtunity has presented itself for me to minister to them!! This kind of music gives kids a substitute for drake and weezy! now they have something with substance AND a good beat! KEEP IT UP D- HADDY!!
