You should figure out how to do '3D Pictures' using a still capture from kinect, and maybe get auto texture generation working that would be awesome!
That okreylos guy got it working great, though his program doesn't allow you to save a 'snapshot' of it and use it in blender. Combine his and yours and get an instant 3d scanner.
@embraerss I'm assuming because of how frequently the coding in 2.5 changes. Trying to build a plugin for it is a friggin nightmare, because you have to change it almost nightly to keep up with all the builds.
Could this be used to make kinect function as a cheap motion caption system?:D I'm really interested if the kinect is accurate enough to do facial capture?
That's pretty awesome! For anyone else who'd like to try this out, I ran this in Ubuntu Maverick with a compiled version of the latest libfreenect, and as long as you run blender with root privileges - sudo blender - it works flawlessly. Nice work :)

Like if you clicked to see this video because you thought the Kinect was going to be put in a blender..

Dylan! Awesome... I'm having trouble getting it working tho. I have libfreenect installed so I'm at a loss at why it won't run.
Thanks.

isso é algo inutel vendo pelo lado do jogo
eu sou daqueles que preferem o controle do que apenas fazer movimentos com as maos vazias
mas vendo pelo desenvolvimento de um software gratuito esse é um grande passo para o blender
