  • Serious drums...

  • needs more drummers. five should do it.

  • @2ndAsstJizzMopper Not only that, it needs more cowbell.

  • Eddie came to Japan to do 2 master classes. I was able to attend one in Tokyo last night. I hope everyone reading this understands that he is a genius. I was wondering for the past 30 years how in the hell someone in the early 20’s was able to come up with that shit (UK music). I mean all these chords with dissonant, diminish, major and minor and such a perfect symphony. That sound. He revealed it all last night in Tokyo.

  • He started out explaining how sound is made from vibration of a string and kept on explaining how harmonics work and 110 vibration per a second make A, but there are all kinds of harmonics to go with it and so on..

And this is Japanese audience he is giving all this lecture! So how many people you think understood what he was talking about.

This man in insanely dedicated to music. Passion and devotion. Eddie Jobson is genius.

  • In any videos i've seen so far i fail to see how the german drummer marco is supposed to be spectacular.

  • Eddie Jobson is a genious! Incredible arrangements. I could not explain myself why he isn't considered between the greatest musicians in the world.

  • When people ask me what musicians I like best, I'm hesitant to tell them, because they never know who I'm talking about. Holdworth, Bruford and Eddie Jobson are the first few I think of. And Vinnie Coliuta and Tommy Mars.

  • @pazzensutra

I hear ya, guy. I give 'em the 'ole "whenever you're ready, it's here waiting for you check out" along with a look ;)

Never got a chance to see UK live, but I got close in the late 70's ;) : Bruford Band with Berlin, Holdsworth, Stewart lineup and Zappa with Bozzio.

  • Seriously, we need to the original line up. Nobody can play it like them and nobody ever will. John Wetton, Eddie Jobson, Allan Holdsworth, and Bill Bruford are U.K. I still enjoyed the trio though.

  • @Yarsh52 Virtually impossible, as Holdsworth will never do anything but a solo gig and Bruford is retired. I agree that it was a great line-up (I like the line-up w. Bozzio, too), but it will never happen.

  • @Yarsh52

Terry Bozzio on skins for Danger Money album.

  • @JonP1961 Yeah, I know that.

  • @Yarsh52 aah you mean Bozzio on drums.

  • Trey Gunn is THE MANNNNNN!

  • Jobson was fantastic, the guitarist(on this particular track) was godawful, horrible dry sound compared to eddies soaring violin.

  • Great! A new reincarnation of King Crimson is born! :D

    Awasome music and awasome playing!

  • incoherent noisecore would sound better than this tripe

just goes to show even with a stage full of stars in aint always going to be spectacular.

  • Both drummers should be fired. Their styles are all wrong for this style of music. Terry's parts were perfect and both these guys crapped all over this tune.IMHO Simom Phillips over plays and his dynamics are lacking. The part in six is way too simplified. Eddie gets a real drummer I will go see him. He should hire me.:-)

  • Haha well Eddie's always had a love for over playing virtouso drummers haha.

  • @MikeHF Naturally...

  • @MikeHF

simon omitted a lot of the nuances during eddie's solo that terry did on the original, such as the hi-hat work. for me, it's ok, though, as i'm focusing on eddie there ;) he's still go it.

  • @MikeHF First off they need chops !! Flams, 32nd notes etc. and Bozzio's Roto toms where a perfect distinctive sound for UK....Crisp with perfect overtones.

At the same time Bozzio was beginning to layer cymbals to eventually comprise his distinctive dual china boys, a tight trashy white noise sound that is SO distinctively Bozzio.

Bozzio always has gone down such a different path, these guys could at least of challenged themselves to recreate that style and feel.

  • Thank you very much!

  • magnificent! whens the CD coming out ??

  • I haven't forgotten Eddie - I love him with Zappa, AND Jethro Tull's "A" Record (BRILLIANT! at his best!)

UK and Roxy Music of course too.

  • no one like eddie jobson, it is a shame he didnt do some more music, he was early at he's early 20's when he joined UK and he was a genius already, so imagine all what he coulded done

some times life is so unfare and virtuosos like him just got forgotten by the people

  • @roviprog87

These days, there's such a proliferation of utter garbage out there that attempts to pass itself off as 'music.' At this point, as a fan I'm just glad that there are ANY true musicians that still respect the art form AND are willing to get out there and gig or otherwise create.

  • Great stuff!

  • Chris Robinson rocks. From your biggest fans Hippo & Chick
