Some people are really confused about our church. They hear ''tithe'' and jump to the conclusion that they rake money for personal gain. That is false! None of our leaders are paid for their service, all of it goes to building temples, curches, humanitarian aid, and production of missionary material. Also, Chad Hardly was excommunicated for representing the church in a terrible and false light.

Mormon Mammon. When I learned of Donny Osmond being a guest host on the UK National Lottery Show, it shocked me. I couldn't understand how such an active LDS member would blatantly associate with such gambling. That was the biggest put off for me after all the hard work I did amongst family and friends to promote the church and its standards on gambling.

I realised soon after that Tithe Dollars are the only real standard for LDS inc.

As a caveat to what I wrote, a few minutes earlier, I will add that, although the Mormon Crutch church is very, very Gestapo-like, in their (leader-dog) methods, I--myself--would not promote any form of semi-nudity, like that.

In the "natural world", the average businessman knows that "sex sells". And, the subtle message of Chad Hardy is that "mormon missionary men are as sexy as the next guy". Or, in other words....SEX SELLS.

Mormon missionaries uphold very high standards. They are representatives of the Savior, Jesus Christ. If Chad Hardy's intent was to show good 'Mormons' in a more 'worldly' light then yes, he has succeeded...and all of that for a profit.

No ill will either...just wish he realized that certain consequences are possible when one tries to redefine 'well-known' standards which remain constant in the midst of the world's declining values.

Men don't set the standard, God already did.

Profit? You are kidding me, right? After publishing, design, photography, marketing and retail cuts I doubt there's much left. The missionary models didn't get paid, instead they chose a favorite charity to donate their 'share' to.

If Hardy does make any money off this, I doubt it's anything to write home about. I'm sure it takes a lot of work to manage this project.

As for everything else you said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

The dishonesty here is the LDS Church. They don't want it known it was the calendar. He was asked if had sex outside wedlock, trying to get him on anything.

When asked, Hardy told the truth. The church only gives a generalized comment.
