The whole thing is basically a Jag XJ220 with with a Transit bodyshell on top, they wanted to test the engine in stop/start driving going through towns, cities and other day to day driving. However using a Jag XJ220 would draw a lot of attention and negative publicity if the car broke down. So they made a non-descript Transit instead that no-one would notice to test the engine
@TeratusVantian the car itself was only in production for 2 years and it makes me think how they managed to source an engine from a car thats rare as hell.
@1985SJW It was a test vehicle for the jaguar before it was in production, it was for testing the drivetrain, so the whole chassis is a jag, only the exterior is a transit :D
@motorgeek81 what jag r those wheels off of then? what engine does it have? is the chassis different or a modified transit modified, surely the hubs would have to be different cos the pcd and offset of the jag wheels wouldnt fit the transit??
@misterinley They're XJ220 wheels, from what I gather the entire drivetrain is from the Jag. I don't know how much Transit is left under there! I've heard a rumour that the van was a test mule for the engine when they were developing the car, although I don't know if there's any truth in that story...
@motorgeek81 thought they were off an xj220. be interesting to see this van properly... its too low to be on a transit chassis. cool vehicle to have though...

Now thats what you call a sleeper but i'm wondering how much just for the engine itself??????

@1985SJW I guess it depends how much you can find an XJ220 or a Metro 6R4 going for!

@1985SJW probably hell of alot now considering if my info is right but last i heard Jaguar dont make the XJ220 anymore or its engine
which really sucks for me since that was my dream car and I was really looking forward to buying one someday :(

@misterinley Sorry, forgot to say the engine is a 3.5litre twin turbo V6 making about 550bhp
