I remember watching this exact report with my parents back when I was in high school. Ten years later I'm on my own and have a career. Watching this, it doesn't feel like ten years.
there was one msnbc intro where a woman was shown hugging a flag while crying into it; does anyone have that one? also, one of a black guy being interviewed; when asked about it, he said "terrible, just terrible", then turns his head and fights back tears.
This was the scariest Special Report intro in NBC News History. Especially on 9/11 every top of the hour that same intro came on that day. I couldn't even sleep!!!

The description of this clip is wrong. It's not the day after the attacks. It's the day of the attacks.

Don McClean sung about the "Day The Music Died". September 11, 2001 was the day that "the innocence died".

Aside from the content, these were the kind of special report graphics and music that made you feel like something of gravity has occurred.
