Hi, Thanks for your comments. I have seen the results of deforestation first hand, you are quite right. Brethren Disaster Ministries is aware of the issue, but that's not one of their core missions. They are primarily a direct disaster response agency, and do not normally do development work. There are other agencies of the Church of the Brethren working on agriculture and other development projects in an effort to reduce reliance on subsistence farming, and resulting deforestation.

That is wonderful work U are doing building houses in Haiti. Thanks 4 sharing the news. Are you also working with residents on reforestation projects? With the next big storm & run-off those new homes are in danger of being flooded again. I greatly admire your work, but you should also start a program with the women on reforestation and replanting those denuded mountains.
