  • That Acme Instant Awakener is awesome!

I also love that scene where Ralph and the sheep keep removing disguises.

  • OMG!!! 3:56 wile e coyote is smoking a joint at break

  • @1625w162d He's smoking a cigarette, as I'm sure you're fully aware.

  • @AdmiralCSN no... holding it with the index and thumb (usually) signifies joint... also the dog is smoking a pipe so its safe to assume they were both taking a 420 break

  • why is the wolf smoking weed

  • @DarkShadowman11 He's not; he's smoking tobacco, as I'm sure you knew.

  • I really could use one of those Acme Instant Awakener

  • This cartoon was awesome! I grew up with Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner, Bugs Bunny, etc. I'd forgotten how hilarious these characters really are. I agree with roofdouble flip. "this is back when cartoons were quality."

  • So... Wil Coyote's real name is Ralph?

  • At 2:47 he looks like a walking pot roast. XDDDDDDDD

  • so ure basically telling me they go through this day in and day out? how muc does getting smack squeezeedblown up etc pay for? and im pretty sure he can get a abtter job than than like treating other coyotes or somethin that does not invole him in the same or a similar situation

  • @nejiiuyn He gets union pay and all the mutton he can catch.

  • I want one of those "wake up" machines for my house!

  • 5:16 Go Ralph! He really knows how to dance.

  • what's ralf smoking @ 3:55?

  • it is so funny!

  • I love Sam!

  • dumb question but who the hell pays them? cause i know wile e coyote has a high doctor bill unless his job pays for it .. but who pays them ?

  • @Mrdatbootie I hate to be the one to break this to you, but it's a cartoon.

  • The music is amazing in these cartoons. Absolute mastery of composition and orchestration!

  • 0:48 Apparently Ralph gets the Acme products that work

  • @blackdemonknight given that they both punch in in the morning, I would assume they do get paid in their particular universe.

After years of not seeing this, I have come to realize what a brilliant short this is.

  • I always wondered something about the Sam and Ralph cartoons. Do they get paid to do this? I mean there friends and they treat the whole wolf tries to steal sheep while dog protects them like a job they have to do and there are friends when not on duty.

  • I love how 1 o'clock whistle sounds and Ralph gets into position near the edge of the drop off

  • BE CAREFUL OF WARNER BROS PIRACY DETECTION!!! xD

  • i want an alarm clock like Ralphs.

  • Love these cartoons, but now when I'm a bit older, I can see that this cartoon reminds me of the broken window metaphor :p

  • average working day XD

  • I love how they have lunch together all cordial and such, and then Sam drops his ass off the cliff without missing a beat.

  • Sam and Ralph. Friends to the end.

  • Too funny

  • Ralph Wolf looks just like Will.E.Coyote.

  • 10 loves Ben 10

  • Haha. Ralph Wolf is so dumb. Same here with Wile E. Coyote when he always fails 2 catch Road Runner & Bugs Bunny. Sam Sheepdog is so clever 2 know what Ralph Wolf is being up 2. Ralph Wolf & Sam Sheepdog are good friends, but Ralph is always trying 2 steal the sheep & have them 4 dinner & Sam's job is 2 protect the sheep. I love watching those series.

  • clever writers and witty

  • che belli..................

    cartoon meraviglioso

  • Epic punch to the head at 2:40 :)

  • It's only business

  • why 1962?

  • love this, this is back when cartoons were quality

  • @roofdoubleflip got that right

  • @roofdoubleflip

This was when cartoons were handdrawn. It's the same with games. As they were container of pixels they were able to change in so many variable kind of things. So - 3D and Cutout Animation are the same side of the coin!

  • Wile E. Coyote is smoking reefer.

  • @readytosee No this was back in the 50's. It was OK and encouraged to show people smoking tobacco. That is what the tobacco companies wanted.

  • @Blackwater65

Yeah don't smoke it because other people smoke it.

Smoke it becasue you like it.

I watched to Popeye a lot and no I'm not even half to smoking.

  • looney tunes. cartoons beating each other senseless. now that's comedy.

  • Both Ralph and Sam remind me of Adam and Jamie from Mythbusters.

  • ralph almost looks just JUST like wiley!

  • love the cute little smile Ralph does when he is caught, just before he gets beat up

  • the wolf is exactly like coyote!

  • 2:34 that's what i call "eye contact" :)

  • Saw many of these cartoons on a black & white TV when I was kid. Didn't know this wasn't Wilie Coyote for long time.

I just figured Willie had a good talent agent to appear in so many toons

  • Where can I get one of those alarm clocks

  • The funniest thing about this cartoon is how the sheepdog and the wolf are the best of friends when they're not "on the job."

  • i swear raplh is smoking a joint at 3:57

  • @canadianbchinese05 It's called a pipe, fuck's wrong with you.

  • @valkyrio not the dog you idiot the dog is smoking a pipe fuck's wrong with you

  • Do they both work for the shepherd? They use the same time clock...

  • καντε αρεσκω οσοι βρεθηκατε εδω απο το "Προβατοκάτσια"

  • huh, they are best buds when there not working XD

  • very nice, these two are true professionals

  • that is one heavy duty spring

  • lolz

  • I want to wake up every morning like that.

  • awww, this makes me cry, I miss my childhoods days, damn it, those are the cartoons i grew up with, well apart from disney princesses and tom and jerry

  • Ralph has a red nose Wile E clearly doesnt so I think we can take it theyre not the same character, one's a wolf the other is a coyote.

  • I Love this cartoon.

  • Wierd. I rather Wile e Coyote over this wierdo.

  • So there's a Wiley and a Ralph Coyote?

  • Ralph is a wolf.

  • ? ? ? Well in this show a Coyote and a Wolf look exactly the same! O_O

  • You'd find plenty of look alikes in cartoons. :/

  • For my entire childhood I thought that was Willy E.Coyote

  • I love these cartoons. I like how both are like the best of friends outside of their work too.

  • I wrote a blog on the Top 100 Best Looney Tunes Cartoons, and I included this short for the scene at 3:43; easily one of the greatest moments to ever come out of the mind of Jones and Maltese.

  • I love how those two are so . . . equitable. In fact, off the clock, they seem to be quite chums, though Ralph still gets the worst of it on-call.

  • what's funny is the network cut the lunch break scene. they cut out the smoking part because they wanted to promote anti-smoking. and a bit like that would undo all their work. by work i mean complaining.

  • lol this looney tunes episode was chill, I liked the backgrounds too.

  • back then, smoking had style, today when people do that, its just wrong. where are the good times at?

  • @kyawmawthu smoking is for people that enjoy sucking dicks, so shut the fuck up and enjoy your cartoon

  • LOL they waited break time to pass to throw him down the cliff hahahaa!

  • I love how Ralph is curled in bed.

  • does anybody know the name of the symphony in the beginning starting at 0:14 sec

  • my mom loves this cartoon.. she says its so much like real life

  • their job is pointless!

  • funny the videogame ps1: sheep raider

  • 2:50. its the garbage guy on sesame street!

i love how sam raises his hair too see.

  • 2:50. its the garbage guy on sesame street!

  • this is my favorite looney tunes episode. I'm fifteen and this is AWESOME

  • While some people like Bugs Bunny the most, I like these two guys the most, mostly because it's like taking a look at nature, and turning into an everyday job for animals. I can see it now, the bunny and fox punch their cards in and go on deadly chase. Lunch break, they discuss their daily lives with one another. Afterwards, back to the adrenaline-rushing sprint for life.

  • These are cartoons

  • Lunch Break! I will never get tired of that part. XD

  • Love the Bobtail!

  • 5:30 = MINDFUCK

  • 1:13 Classic :)

  • I think Ralph and Wile were intended to be the same "character" (that is, the unsuccesful predator) but with a different name (and species, since wolves and coyotes are similar but not the same.) I knew somebody who had a VHS collection of Roadrunner/Coyote cartoons that included a Sam/Ralph cartoon as well.

  • @codafett its jus the way they show coyotes. Ralph is one, and so is Wile E.

  • Delightful characters. Indispensable.

  • "Music To Put Sheep Dogs To Sleep By" was a five volume LP set- available ONLY to wolves like Ralph {I believe if they joined the "WB Record Club", that was their "bonus album" for ordering "X' amount of LP's- though, if they also ordered Allan Sherman's "My Son, the Folk Singer", that also entitled them to a free copy of "Sing Along With Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. (Star of '77 Sunset Strip')" ;)}.

  • It's very simple, 'arbiter'. ON the job, Ralph and Sam are supposed to be "natural enemies", each doing their "job". Yet before and after work [including their lunch breaks], they're "off the clock", and apparently good friends (otherwise, they wouldn't be so cordial greeting each other at the beginning and end of their workday). I understand what Chuck Jones was trying to point out in these cartoons- what's "natural" can often become "the same old grind"..."just a job".

  • Wiley Coyote is rockin' the ganj....

  • They couldn't had made Ralph look different from Wile E.?

  • @codafett I feel like it is some kind of inside joke intended for us to say wtf to ourselves

  • @mysteryman64030 They did, don't you notice he has a red nose and white eyes?

  • @mysteryman64030 I always thought that they were related.

  • @mysteryman64030 they are brother I wikipedia this bitch

  • @mysteryman64030 i didn't think that until you just said it, and I have a feeling you are right. there's got to be a reason.

  • Comment removed

  • @mysteryman64030 well Ralph has a red nose Wile R. got a brown nose :D

  • @mysteryman64030 That's exactly what I said after the cartoon ended!! LOL!! These guys who produced must've been on something...

  • @codafett His nose is red, Wile E's is black :D

  • @codafett: I am pathetic to admit I have watched enough Looney Tunes to know this, but Ralph has a red nose. Wile E. has a black nose. So they could be considered different.

  • @codafett Ralph is different from Coyote...the nose colour is different

  • @codafett Nose and eye color are different from Wile E's.

  • @codafett I think they could have. But Ralph Wolf is supposed to be Wile E. Coyote's cousin, so I guess you gotta show some resemblance

  • @codafett Wile E has a black nose. Ralph has a red one.

  • @codafett They do look different. Ralph has a red nose, and Wile E. has a black one.

  • @codafett ralph noes is red, wile's is black there supposely cousins

  • I love it when Sam is about to drop Ralph off the cliff but before he can, the lunch whistle blows. Classic.

  • Wait if one balloon keeps you afloat, then Why does he have so many?

  • Weird. At 3:30 or so, Ralph's ears blink in and out of existence for a split second. Must be an animation glitch or something.

  • @InvisibleSandwichTM

Nice catch. Would have never noticed that.

  • You shoud think dat Ralph is Wile E. Coyote.

  • was he smoking weed ? wow they need more cartoons like this than gay one like spongebob. that show suck!!!!!!!! :p

  • I want one of those alarm clocks that Ralph has to get to work on time.

  • these were always my favorites

  • in the 60s, smoking was alright to people. it was their style, now it's not

  • Thanks for this :-)

  • Hilarious imagine you are the coyote in a "UNION" job lol both sides of the fence punching in sheepdog after you having lunch breaks together and you are trying to steal the sheep! funny...

  • this is almost as funny as Droopy and that dump wolf

  • i found the answer to life, looney tunes!

  • I always loved those angry red eyes from the sheepdog.

  • 3:51

looney tunes is better with weed anyway

  • "plesant dreams"

  • These cartoons are real cool man

  • There was a game about this...loved it.

  • lol enemies at work, friends after hours. priceless.

  • I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THE LOONEY CARTOONS...THEY ARE STILL THE BEST CARTOONS EVERRRRR....

  • come on people you cannot dislike that!!pleaseeee!!! i love coyote!! <3

  • sure wish there was a "love" button!

  • all in a days work to fuck your best friend up.....god i love looney tunes

  • Hey wasn't there a show involving a wolf like Ralph and a Ram? I remember it was about the sheepdog retiring and being replaced by an very badtempered ram. Can someone tell me what the show was called?

  • oh so this isnt wile coyote just looks like him minus the red nose

  • lol, so classic

  • the dog's got some serious skills.

  • You'd think this company running the whole deal would have trained the sheep too...

  • you know when i first saw these shorts i was like "so wil.e finally gave up on the road runner huh?"

  • What is the name of the song in the minute 0:15?... does anyone know?

  • @sammdie It's the opening of Rossini's William Tell Overture.

The other famous "morning" music is Grieg's "Morgenstimmung" watch?v=Tct_XDjk8cA&feature=related

  • Was it just me, or did anyone notice that Ralph wold looked alot like Wil. E Coyote?

  • Anyone besides me watch these old cartoons and stubbornly try to figure out how they worked? Damn cartoon Physics. Still Hilarious to watch though.

  • Love watching these old Sam & Ralph cartoons :D Just started to get back into playing the Sheep, Dog & Wolf game again - I used to love rushing straight into the flock and making Sam chase me just for the fun of it

  • What I wouldn't give for the Acme Instant Awakener! Daylight Savings Time has me all out of whack.

  • I wish Looney Tunes had more cartoons with Ralph Wolf and Sam Sheepdog (plus the sheep of course).

"Mornin' Ralph" "Mornin' Sam" best quick exchange in a Looney Tunes cartoon in my opinion.

  • @BrownBrother27 go watch Woolen Under Where, i think you'll get a kick out of it.

  • @nwojunkie

I have already watched Woolen Under Where countless times on YouTube. Thanks for the suggestion anyways :-)

  • @BrownBrother27 I"m totally with you there. best exchange!!!! when i need to escape my reality, i watch looney tunes. i wish i lived in their world.

  • aaah man this is what i call a good cartoons...

  • the last two theatrical animated shorts before he left Warners for good in 1963.

Yes,Chuck Jones was a genius in making great cartoons. No wonder he took the same style and production for the Tom and Jerry cartoons that he did for MGM in 1963.

  • back when cartoons were good

  • 1 dislikes go fuck yourself :~>

  • sheep dog n wolf videogame for the playstation is the perfect tribute of this animation (:

  • @xXdark6master6zeroXx Sheep hunter, i've still got that game!

  • Ha! on 2:42 he looks like a walkin stack of pancakes hehe!

  • This is one the few ones that I like that wasn't from the 40s or 50s. The new ones are really bad. They just don't capture that same spirit.

  • Mornin, Ralph! Mornin' Sam!

  • Mel Blanc is a genius doing all those voices.

  • I need one of those Acme instant awakeners installed in my bedroom.

  • 4:34 HUGE BALL SACK
