  • The Wolf gets bit by Bolet just before the 2 minute mark as Bolet rightly corrected him and Manzo reacts with impish anger. As for Douglas, it appears he is the only one of the group that went on to actually record the Rach 3 on CD.

  • It's funny. As Bolet was saying that the score said "here it says a tempo and then here accelerando and then here rallentando", I was thinking to myself "God, that can't possibly be" and then I was pleased to hear him say "Well, forget about that. That just doesn't work" :)

  • Wolfgang's rebelliousness [previous segment] was when he played a passage very cleanly and was thrilled with himself only to be told by Bolet that it was --- well --- too clean! [hehehehe!!!] Yes, i'm pleased with myself - the discussion here at the end of this segment - the left hand was far too accented for the delicate right hand progression up the keyboard. Mr Bolet - I agree with you [chuckles] !!!

  • Douglas' fingers look triple jointed, if there is such a thing. The German guy was a bit rebellious, wasn't he?

  • They need do do more series like this. I would definitely watch!

  • not easy for the student though........

  • the dude in the beginning didnt take his criticisms very well

  • what is the name of the second student?

  • The second student in this video is Barry Douglas.

  • Quelle tête à claque cet allemand! Pas étonnant qu'on parle plus de lui

  • Jorge Bolet had one of the best moustaches in history

  • Haaaaaaaa!!

  • @davidweiner23 Jorge Bolet has an eerie resemblance to Adolf Hitler......

  • @davidweiner23 There are no good moustaches

  • unbelievable dynamic changes in the first 30 seconds here

  • do u mean that in a good way or a bad way? because to me that is bad for the orchestera

  • I mean it in a good way. I'm not sure what the orchestra is doing here, but I think the pianist might need to get softer as the orchestra becomes louder right before the grand finale.

  • yep :)

  • At this point, the students' piano has gone out of tune, especially the treble section.

  • They're both Bechstein's; he played that in Europe and Baldwin here in the US.

  • the student's piano is a Bechstein and Jorge's piano is a Steinway : not fair!

  • Jorge Bolet's piano by choice was always Bechstein, not Steinway, so in this case he gave the students the best piano in his opinion.

  • ah ok, thanks for the info, I didn't knew.

  • Agreed, I'm in love with this series, I'm enjoying this so much.

  • cool!
