  • Man, this song is lovely. Probably won't get noticed cuz ol boy talking about something and people like to hear garbage. Still, the melody is lovely. Jill Scott singing angelicly over it in the chorus, that's a lovely thing. And, his lyrics are just profound. Love that!!! And, I don't know why but this song mekes me think of My Way Home off that K West cd. Anway, I just love this song.

  • People don't remix songs. What rappers do is sample songs, Georgia, Hate it Or Love it, To Be a Diplomat, actually any rap song probably has a sample in it here or there. One person who exploits it is Kanye, every song is sampled. Lupe is just making a nice song. Even if someone already has the premice he makes it sound better.

    Hip hop began in NYC where poor kids wanted to make their own music and had rhymes but not beats to go along with it. So they'd mash up cassette tapes and records and sing over that. The art of sampling is what arose from that, and in this case Jill Scott re-performed the original song so it's not even technically sampled. It's not a remix at all.
