  • Fantastic song writing Justin you got it so right my friend we mere mortals all feel like that some times in our life s great song .

  • The score to my life. Great music! With all the hate on youtube you shine with people who really know the soul of music. I want to thank you for the positive comments on my daughter kiralee93 she is a busy girl. Her music is opening doors to the type of music I miss. God speed, my friend.

  • Nice job man, this is a great song. Really cool theme, the lyrics are really strong. Well out together as well, good build at the climax. And the backwards sounds were really cool

  • very nice and original song. congratulations

  • Wonderful! This is just absolutely wonderful XD

  • This is pure creativity, I have to return to listen your song several times, I can't help it. you've got talent my friend. Music and videoclip are awesome.

  • @alberzeta Comments like this make all the time and effort worthwhile. Thanks a lot.

  • @Oswlek I came back for another listen too.. One of the best original songs on here..

Never stop singing. Your lifting hearts..

    Jeffro - firm handshake

  • Really enjoyed listening to this. Thanks for sharing.

  • @yllekr123 Thanks for the kind words and subscription, Kelly. I really appreciate it.

  • Realy nice sound man, very intresting lyrics, thumbs up.

  • your production skills are getting a lot better! You're getting really good at producing your sound. Also your voice sounds awesome in this song! I love the harmonies throughout RM. Those reverse tracks are so awesome! You definitely tapped into an indie sound that i really enjoy! This is your best sounding song for sure in my opinion. The lyrics are really cool as well as i believe a lot of people have had struggles with god, and people can definitely relate

  • @shroomage34 You are too kind, Josh. I actually thought the subject matter would earn me a a few thumbs down, but it is apparently more relatable than I thought.

  • very awesome writing and music , i write and compose music too , its an awesome release for stress

  • great song.... well done.... good vocals to

  • @leobluesy Thanks Leo.

  • @CharmedQuarkZ99 Interestingly enough, I've quite a bit of experience with addiction, perhaps it shone through this song for those who can see it.

Thanks for stopping by and for the kind words.

  • quite the production indeed. The feeling I got from this song is a person at wits end with life and has hit rock bottom, wishing for a way out or a way up.

Waiting, day after day, praying and wanting more from this dismal existance on this forsaken planet we call home. I really liked the lyrics and the arrangement put all those emotions in me, nicely done.

This is a video that goes beyond your norm, usually your seen with the guitar in hand but this time without, it was pleasure to watch

  • @AcousticPhases You got it, my friend. I'm glad you liked the vid, it seemed to fit the concept and I thought the video simplicity was a nice contrast to song's complexity.

  • Nice song. :-)

  • I think this is one of best songs I have heard on YouTube. The lyrics are meaningful and well crafted. The backup vocals add so much and the timing of them is right on. I really enjoyed the production and the way the song builds.

  • @muzikizlife10 Wow, that's quite the complement! I'm thrilled my song impacted you that much, Carol, and I really appreciate the kind words.

  • I can really relate to this song. Love what you did. God bless you.

  • @DustinDaniel87 Thanks for the kind words and blessings, Dustin.

  • This is a truly beautiful song and great video!!!!!!

  • love this song..its just so lovely

  • @MissChocoLoco Thanks for stopping by and for the compliment.

  • Great lyrics and production - the opening few beats sound like a Neil Young song that then goes into some other realm.

  • @sillykidssong Thanks a lot. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Had to come back for another listen this evening Justin.... I just had to! Still relating and enjoying....

Hope the evening finds you and your loved ones happy and safe and warm,

    Rolland

  • @rbheiss Thanks Rolland. Glad to see you again. ;-)

I will be in contact with you shortly :)

  • Very lovely song. You have a wonderful voice.

  • @suuzzee5 Thanks Suze. Your comments are always appreciated.

  • That is a beautiful song from the heart. The darkness of it adds to the feel of the video and the message is a good one.

    Very well done.

  • @billysnoid Thanks a lot for the kind words. I'm glad you got what I was going for.

  • Very Deep Justin. Powerful!!! AWESOME!!! xo

  • @sistermoonshine13 Thanks, Sis.

  • I missed this one Justin. I love the whole atmosphere of this one. A little darker than your usual, which I like alot. Nice recording too.

    Paul

  • @PaulBradford13 Thanks for stopping by, Paul. I spend a lot of time in the darker realm, I just don't share too many of them.

  • this is pretty good. :) Im not that religious but i was liking the message. Nice job. Drop by anytime! :D

  • @TheDavetrevor Thanks, Dave. Truth be told, I'm not the most religious guy, but I know plenty of devout followers and envy the comfort they find in belief. Those feelings were a large part of this piece.

  • Justin awesome emotion and song mate :)

  • Hey Justin!

    Great song man!

Yes, you are correct in stating "not a run-of-the-mill project"! It never is when dealing with matters of the heart,, which is where the Almighty resides in my opinion. Reflection provides the Light, and introspection moves us towards it. Never an easy journey, but a necessary one nonetheless. Nice work my friend!

    ~Rich

  • @Resonantforce Thanks for the kind comment, Rich. I honestly worried that the theme of this might rub some the wrong way, but it seems to be more universal than I expected.

  • I really like this song, Justin and your voice on it. Really unique chorus and feel. Between your voice and the buildup and instruments, I really feel it. Cool!

  • @basicband Considering your vocal abilities, that is high praise, Tracy. Thanks for stopping by.

  • hi justin this a another work of art my friend wish i could write songs my self all the best bill

  • Hey Justin Ronb15 here

    Now featured on the TheMusicLadder

  • @TheMusicLadder You are too kind, Ciaran.

  • Another really great track,,, and once again recorded and mixed so amazingly well...

  • Really amazing!!

  • @monicasmix Thank you Monica!

  • You mix your tracks so well and draw the listener in to the song with your passion and "feeling". Did you consider a bridge going up an octave and putting some "pain" into it? Just curious - you're the master. Loved it.

    bri

  • @othercousin Thanks Bri. Do you mean adding a bridge? That I didn't consider since the song was already almost 5 minutes. I did try out several other vocal melodies to see if I could add some intensity, but I didn't like them. There are three lines now that I give some forceful treatment to and if I go to hard on others they don't stand out as much. Since my voice doesn't go up to 11, I couldn't add anything to then make those three lines stand out again.

    Thanks for listening.

  • @Oswlek - No critisisim my friend, I see alot of potentiel in it.., just my impressions. I think maybe I would try speeding it up a bit and drop/allter the 3rd verse to a bridge with an emotional cry crescendo. Then back to original feel and tempo. I'm saying run the whole gambit on it..hostile, angry, confused, and resentful to resignation, understanding , peace, desire, and thankfulness. It had an unfinished feel to it but still had enough meat to it to be good as is. Keep posting man!

  • Excellent song. Good mix on it too.

  • amazing original song

  • Excellent original song, Justin! The sound production is amazing! I'm just a bit disapointed by the video clip. I would have like to see you play and everything. But, hey, that's a song, not a movie! :). Cheers!

  • Wonderful song and singing! Top recording!!

  • very very good tune!"

  • love the melody , great sound , *****

  • Oh, Justin, this is so beautiful!!! The song, and the way you build up the music to it, just perfect!

What a joy it is to know people like you, who inspire us all so much!

    Roeleke

  • BEAUTIFUL WORK ....MY FRIEND!1..THUMZZZ UP!!.

  • two weeks is great time for such an intricately arranged and layered track! You definitely went all out my friend ad for that i tip my bonnet.

  • I can definitely relate to the message conveyed in this song, i believe it's one of your most heartfelt performance..Thanks for the share!

    Peace!

    Saal

  • Outstanding performance my friend and thanx for sharing.. God Bless always to you and yours:)W

  • Truly awesome, i really enjoyed it.Thanks for sharing..THUMBS UP!

  • Hi Justin.

I've been away on a road trip for my job so I am just now catching up to this. You are doing such fine complex arrangements now, a far cry from your earlier efforts. This has a later period Beatle-esque feel to it... The lyrics are bit surprising to me in some ways as it gets into the realm of faith, which I haven't heard from you before, or at least not this directly. It is a great creation Justin, my compliments. -Ron

  • @rhopen Thanks Ron, hopefully it is surprising in a good way! It is somewhat new subject matter, though I did delve into it a little in the song "Father" and the vlog I sent up at the same time.

You've been supportive since those "far cry" times, Ron, and I can't thank you enough for it. I probably would have left YT a long time ago if it weren't for people like you.

  • Brilliant song!!!

  • Justin, this is an amazing piece of work! I find myself relating in many aspects. I also understand that songs often have other ideas in mind contrary to our wishes and wills. Occasionally a song writes us instead of the other way around. As you said, this is not autobiographical but I think my last sentence will be understood by you anyway. In fact I'm sure of it.

    Take care my friend,

    Rolland

  • @rbheiss I definitely know what you mean, Rolland. That happens with virtually every piece I "create". They've all been written, it's just my job to find it.

    Thanks for stopping by.

  • You made an outstanding and wonderful song. Greetings! Martin

  • Now that's dramatic! What a great composition my bro Justin! It was haunting powerful in it's statement. You write really deep meaningful songs. I know what you're saying here. Beautifully written verses,we turn to God in our despair many times. I love the darkness of the vid while you sing by the window with some light. Well done my buddy! Wow you put all those tarcks on it? The music is like a wall of sound, swirling & fantastic! You sing it with great passion & feeling. Soul stirring! :))

  • Sensitive and powerful at the same time. This is what art is all about in music. Justin you should be a star,I mean a world star. You're already a star for us here my buddy! :)))

  • @cbrb40 Rick, you might be the most generous person on youtube. I'm glad our paths crossed. ;-)

  • This is awesome, well done and a thumbs up and five stars for you

  • Well done

  • Wow Justin! You're becoming quite the professional in all aspects. Very, very nicely done across the board man. Total package.

  • is a not at all simple song, but you made it special

  • Hi Justin...Hauntingly beautiful

Love the black and white-adds to

the emotion you show in your voice

    and expressions---All around Brilliant..

  • Very nice song well sung and finished off with a really good recording Tanya

  • Wonderful ! Really great job !!!

    REMOODS

  • Great song bro, love the sound and the production. Keep up the great work.

  • pray all night...I'll change my life...swear this time....ragged bond....

the morning will make it right...Bare bones Justin...excellent song...could stand on it's own with guitar and repentant Voice...the cry of us all...

    Michael

  • @reliablebow Thanks Michael, I thought you'd like this one.

  • like where you took this....

  • Your talent for production keeps growing Justin! The effort is very much worth it. All those tracks and layers make for a rich listening experience. The reverse tracks ( I think I'm hearing it at around the 3:20 mark) really gives an ominous feeling of the struggle of man and the almighty. Excellent work!

  • @nessyvt Thank you kindly, Vanessa. I appreciate the specific feedback on the reverse lead. Just an FYI, there are two other reverse spots as well.

  • Glad I could make you smile this morning, Justin. :) Coming up here to listen to your newest as well. Love the haunting, folk feel of this one. Absolutely one of your best! Love the spiritual struggle of your lyrics, going on my favorite's list....have a good one today! :) Janet

  • Really nice Justin, you're getting much better with the multi-track recordings. I wish I could say the same, have you been studying anything in particular or website? I have dreams of being able to do what our good friend bios36 does someday, I have ideas, but just haven't been able to put them together yet. Great job on this one and definitely an inspiration for me. Mark

  • @Maysey1 I haven't been reading anything, Mark. Its just a mixture of Rick's teachings, some developing experience and years of intense listening. Fay from channel Faevorite also had some good advice, slow down, listen from multiple radios and frames of mind. If it is a good song now, it'll be a good one a few months from now.

Thanks for stopping by, I always enjoy your feedback, Mark.

  • Interesting how one can set out with a simple idea and the song dictates other things happen. I always feel you have to be open to what the song is telling you it needs. You did a fine job of that on this song. Easy to see you are a song writer with some deep resources. Good work.

  • @archtopbrownie Thanks Lance. If by "resources" you mean "years of listening and writing" I'll cop to that. I think you'd be surprised at how limited the financial and instrument arsenal is, though! ;-)

  • @Oswlek Hah! Spoken like a songwriter who has stuck to his vision. Lots of heart... very little commerce.

  • Great moody song - well done!

  • Amazing! Well done! I absolutely loved it!

  • Spectacular!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!! Applause!!!!!! Favorite Video

Greetings – Dj Mario Afonso – Rio de Janeiro – RJ – Brazil

I love music, dogs, human beings and nature.

    Much music, health and peace.

  • Great job with the Justin!! The use of the minor chords really went along well with the feel of the song! The harmonies added so much as well! What a production!

  • @Cameragirl803 Thanks Jane. The interesting thing is, I didn't use a single minor chord in this piece. I just found other ways to darken the mood. ;-)

  • @Oswlek Wow really! humm maybe it was in the melody that made me think that then. Whatever you did worked really well to fit the mood of the song. I think we all have felt this way before, faith wise...You always write songs that make us think!

  • good idea to have a video that's all one continuous shot, i think.... somehow makes 'em more watchable.

kind of a dark song, but builds up nicely, and a big sound which i'm always jealous of in other folks' vids.

  • great work

  • Beautiful. Just beautiful. I can hear, that you invested much time and I know how long it can take to create a song, and Justin it is worth it. Splendid work. Cheers ΛNDЯÉ BERLIИ [ΛB►]☺

  • Love your work, great track, and video,

    atb terry

  • * * * VERY NICE !! * * *

  • It is definetily not a run of the mill project. Very creatively put together.

  • WOW!

  • Beautifully done...touching, and so revealing...Love it!!!

  • I think everything about this is excellent, Justin. The lyrics are powerful, as is the singing. Guitar sounds beautiful and the rest of your sound & effects are quite astonishing - some movie studio executive is going to come along and hire you! I don't know - a few comments just don't seem to be enough. Bravo!

  • @ImOfTheWoods From your mouth to God's ears, Sylvia. Thanks for stopping by, it means a lot to me.

  • Wow!! This is Amazing! I love it!! Excellent lyrics and wonderful and emotional vocals! Wow! Excellent playing and sound! Video is Superb! Two Thumbs up!

Added to fav's and endless stars!

    Alyssa

  • @Hollistergirl0731 Considering your experience with other accomplished YT songwriters, I really appreciate the compliments, Alyssa. Thanks for checking it out.

  • WOW!

  • @CherokeeNation16 Simple, succint, complimentary... Can't ask for much more than that in a vid comment! ;-)

  • Awesome!! Thanks for the share:)

    Grandma mary

  • wonderful song ..

  • nice recording job....

  • Been There, and go there every day!

  • Very nice ...some deep and thoughtful lyrics and lines ...wonderful arranged and played ...good job my friend !!

  • Wonderful... Simple and pleasant..

I like the sort of strange chord progression at around 2 minutes.

I'm not sure why this didn't show up in my subscriptions.. Youtube needs to get that sorted out.

  • Great job, wonderful videoclip. awesome original song.

  • very very nice

  • Awesome Work!

    Love the vibe.....smooth...

  • Bella !

    Bravo !!!

  • These lyrics are phenomenal! So well written. Your songwriting skills seem to continue to advance. And although the time between posts seems to have increased, It doesn't detract from my enjoyment of your songs. It's nice going back and listening to older songs, and getting a new perspective on things that I have missed the first few times through. This song is eerily humbling. (and going in my favorites)

  • @thenewcreatures Always glad to see your name appear in the comments, Andy. You have a knack for impacting me probably more than my song did you!

  • Very well sung, with feeling and sensitivity! Good lyrics too!

  • Nice! Thumbs up.

    Peace,

    Bobby

  • Nice song, Justin!! =)

  • Hi Justin this is really a good song. I love the lyrics very much and how you expressed them in music. The production is perfect like always. Favorited.

    Nice greetings by Anette

  • A beautiful production that was truly heartfelt.

Who of faith has not been to this place...?

Great video too ! Hell, this was great all around !

Oh crap, I hope I ain't goin' to H-E-double-hockey-sticks fer sayin that. NICE work !!!

  • this is a wonderful song Justin.. the melody is almost dream like.. I can hear this in a movie soundtrack.. the lyrics are deep and meaningful on many levels.. my kind of song to listen to.

keep up ur brilliant work. i wish i knew half as much about music as you do my friend !

  • @ronb15 "Knowledge" is nothing more than me having tinkered a bit longer than you, Ciaran. Your songwriting skills are second to none and I have little doubt you'll pick up the layering once you make that leap. If you need any help with equipment or techniques let me know.

  • You have been busy. These multi-layered mixes are working out wonderfully Justin. An interesting move into the second section, it's alternative without losing sight of the melodic bedrock. Good to see you acting out a person striving to stay on the ol' straight and narrow too :-) Actually, the reverse parts sound like the best parts in any of your songs period, and the ending is creeping toward industrial avant garde minimalism. I always enjoy hearing you get either more avant garde or bluesy.

  • @CurtisMateer "Best parts in any..song"? I'm taking that as a compliment no matter how you intended it!

I really appreciate you stopping by, Pete. We should do something together, if you have any interest.

  • @Oswlek Sounds interesting. Got anything in mind?

  • @CurtisMateer Actually, I do. I'll send you an email as soon as I can.

  • Wow... knocked this one out of the park! Great tune... great arrangement!

  • @jfknb Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • nice

  • Don't we all come to this point sooner or later...desperate to strike a bargain with God....hoping He will intervene in a dire situation and will grant us mercy and grace. It is a beautiful song, Justin and it touches me deeply.

    NAncy

  • @nllleonard Thanks Nancy. I actually expected to get more negative feedback, considering the poorly concealed tension between the protagonist and God. I guess those feelings are more universal than I realized.

    Thanks again.

  • Blown away by this Justin, have to agree with all the comments here, a true masterpiece, Faved!

    Cheers Brian

  • @dusstead If one of the best lyricists on YT is blown away, then I must have done something right! Thanks, Brian.

  • Wow, a really good song and a great production you have here, Justin. Congratulations.

    Bob

  • you didn't take the safe and easy route with this one Justin :) a lot of complexity here and because of that those nearly 5 minutes flew by, I'd much rather wade in the deep end of the pond than the shallow end :) well done, enjoyed it very much

  • @jugnutgut Thanks, Rob. As I'm sure you've noticed by now, I'm not much for kiddie pool music myself, though as a father I'm well aware of its charm!

  • I have now listened to the production 3x's & it keeps calling to me. Everything comes together so well & moving. I especially like the simplified video of you just singing, looking the part, & how you walk off. You have a habit of making a powerful statement with all that you do! What's a reversal??

  • We should all be grateful to those who have the energy, discipline and creativity to create works like this, and the generosity to give them away on YouTube. I look at my own page full of my little cover songs and feel like a slacker! Thanks for sharing your hard work.

  • @GibsonAndVega Thanks for the kind words. I am equally grateful, seeing as I'd be creating these with or without YT and our brethren. Having this community to share and learn from is a blessing.

  • Wow, I've seen some great songs on YT lately that have been impressing the hell out of me and this one sure falls into that category! Excellent work!

  • @Johnfern99 Thanks, John!

  • Very cool

  • A beautiful and accomplished performance. Love the lyric :]

  • I love hearing your songs man!

  • Epic build up Justin, superb production, I think people forget how much work you have to put into creating a produced product as well as writing it. My latest song Dreams comes in at about 20 tracks I thought that was a lot, lol.

A moving masterpiece my friend, faved and thank you

  • Haunting melody, Justin! I love it! I can see how this would stick with you to keep coming back in the writing process! I love in your comments how you honor the process with patience and listening and letting the song become what it is supposed to be. That is inspiring! And if my calculation is correct, in the last two uploads, you've introduced nealy 60 tracks that you've been working on in the background... Whoa! Where DO you find the time and patience, man! Amazing! :)

  • @BradPritts Thanks Brad. "Patience" probably isn't the right term for it, just hyper-self-critical-ness. Hearing all the flaws in uploads I was too quick with hurts more than waiting another week and making sure it is right.

Oh, and it is actually 70 tracks, but who's counting? ;-)

  • killer song! clarence

  • bravo Justin

    a wonderfull production

    super vocal

    go on

    beautifull melody and chords

    great lyrics

    jean

  • Perfectly beautiful, Justin! Ciao, M.
