robinsons190 well my dad told me cos he works with those cars cant give specific info anyway that there is a electric car with 2 ipads and luks like a normal car more info but not now
I bought this car because I couldn't get a Leaf. Leafs seem to only be available to celebrities and the well connected. I really like my Think City. I drove it about 1000 miles and it only added about $15 to my electric bill. It's not fancy and it does the job. I would like to use the pre-heat when winter comes, but I don't think mine has the feature. I'm waiting for an answer from their service folks.
Hybrid cars are actually better than electric only. If we change all the cars to electricity only we will have to burn a lot more petroleum to make energy and there are losses to distribute that energy. Besides that the battery is bigger and more expensive and the autonomy is shorter. Prius is still the answer when you think in smart drive. Two wheels electric vehicles are a good bet to the close future.
Under the current technology monopoly industrial business model, retail price range about 16,000 economic is non-existent. We need some one to hack this issue. Maybe some bare bone packages, on top of conversion kits, can achieve that. If we have some design standardization for this economic class, consumers can add new components to the bare bone as they like for improvement in the life time of their e-vehicle.
Think was originally a Ford project started in North America but the timing was wrong - Bushie came to power and this project ceased its existence in USA. However I believe that it was purchased by a Norwegian company. Now I'm not sure who owns it.
My only problem with this is the price. If you go to their site the Think City is about 20,000 Euro and plus theres a battery lease program. Doesn't seem worth it to me, however, I do rather enjoy the concept, but at a much more affordable price. Also, I doubt that the car would pass inspection here in the states. I'm not knocking it, just saying, it needs to be more consumer friendly is all. Other than that, I can't wait to see more, larger, and faster of its kind. =D
Zero Point Energy for the home to charge EV's are the missing link! Apparently a commercially viable one is already in progress in Australia for USD5,000!!! No more electricity bills and gas expenses... FOREVER!!!
If you could re-train people not to leave their desktop computers and plasma TVs on when not in use. That would help a lot, but is only a partial solution. Remember the VERY BEST battery chargers made to date put about 1/3 of their output into the battery, and need about 2 times as much electricity flowing in as flows out!
We also could help a little by putting timers on the chargers so that they turn off in the middle of the hottest days and the coldest nights, when usage peaks!
It is very safe, it was developed and tested in both the US and Europe. Ford owned the company when they first developed the model. It is tested and proven.
Simular to the Canadian "Zenn Car". Unfortunatly the government of Canada regulates how fast it can go so that it won't fuck up the oil industry. Perhaps California would allow it.
Looks good on paper. Problem is: In the larger markets like USA, China, Brazil etc, the electrical grid can only accommodate about 1-2% of the the total market in electric cars . Alternatives are, Massive upgrades of electric grid, or massive slowdown in charge times!
Typical brainwashed thinking. Wow, massive upgrades to grid? Seems to be keeping up with all these new power gulping flat panel tvs and computers everyone leaves on all day.
Hard to believe this technology has been around that long and only now coming to America's light. I hope the new administration will be more receptive to this alternative.
Furthermore, I hope to live to see the day when America no longer needs the Middle East's oil. What will they do then, eat it? Oil has been their source of wealth and nothing more for far too long. With nothing else to do their idol hands have become the devil's workshop, full of malice. Will we see peace finally?
I think that's such electric cars very good for our environment and also for their own budget are homemade. I hope the producers think of electric cars much revenue will make
Lol, it looks like it got the same rear lights as the 2000 lamborghini diablo vt

There is already technology that automatically charges your car while you drive. There is no need to charge. The Patent is on its way.

I would imagine the maintenance costs would be a fraction of a conventional car. I want one. I live in Canada. Any plans on bringing it here?

I think that you are right. This kind and size of car needs to be cheaper to accommodate the kind of buyer that it would have.

I agree.
I think that a price tag of around 8.000-10.000 euros would be much more suitable.

Well, when oil prices go up, the price will seem much more tempting. (driving will probly get more expensive in the future, though, I think)

I still think this is awesome and I like the sound it makes, but... you still have an electricity bill and a plastic car isn't very safe is it?

@clockworktoys "everyone leaves on all day."
Everyone?
Try using less arrogantly declaritive words.
I for one don't even have a waste of money giant tv... I have an old 16 inch, and don't even use it.
I have a computer, but it's off most of the day, and when it's on, if I'm not at the desk, the screen turns off.
I also turn off lights I'm not using...
