wow, i'd LOVE to go to there with a metal detector! you could probably find all nature of bullet shells & ancient [stolen] auto parts... maybe even a buck knife!
Not sure if that's the charlie-rock. Did it have a cross carved on the top, and CM carved below the cross? I was googling for a picture of the rock, and found it, along with a picture of another seemingly famous Spahn Ranch tree. Google "this is the tree that Charlie supposedly punched repeatedly" ...LOL!
"This is the tree that Charlie supposedly punched repeatedly when he found out about Bobby's arrest in connection with the Hinman murder." Hahaha! Ouch!
Oh, I was just quoting what it said under the picture of the apparently "punched" tree on that website that you find when you google "this is the tree that Charlie supposedly punched repeatedly". Actually the picture looks to me like a cluster of 2-3 trees that have grown together--but they might just be close to each other. I can't quite tell from the camera angle. I can't see bullet holes on them as are apparent on the tree you videotaped.
have you seen the rock thats not too far from where the cm rock was that has a "X" carved into it? i might have it in one of these videos but im not sure. i wonder what the story on the "X" rock is?
I've never heard of the "X" rock. I googled and found a guy on charliemanson. net talking about it. But it turned out to be YOU, haha! I saw your picture of the rock. Kinda makes you wonder, huh? "X" marks the spot? Something/someone buried there? I guess anyone could have put the X there...but who knows? Wow, you got yourself an authentic bit of Spahn Ranch history in that "Motion Picture Livestock" sign! Hey, have you considered making a video slideshow of some of your Spahn Ranch photos?
hey ronnie. speaking of your pictures, i saw the ones on the 'last people to live at spahn ranch' blog...you suppose that cane you found could've belonged to george spahn himself? if he left one in his house [when the officials told everyone to leave because of the fire] it would have been a charcoal stick, but if he left one around the ranch AFTER that or threw one down towards the creek, who knows? well i'm sure you considered the possibility since he was often seen using a cane.
Bedpan, this week I got a DVD from Aes-Nihil that shows some smokey film footage of Spahn Ranch burning(!), and of course some shots of the ranch after the fire. Also, an interview with George Spahn in which the reporter is asking, "Well, what are you going to do now?" George was old, but he was completely coherent and seemingly senility-free. It's pretty fascinating stuff...to me, that is.
any chance you could put up that footage? maybe just for a few days? i've never even seen a PHOTO of spahn ranch burning - - certainly no video of it!
I'm shocked at how untouched this place is, are people allowed to walk around there freely?
