My favourite thing to watch is chat-shows. Kimmel/Fallon/Letterman/Conan good
But for me Craig is King. Not only is he funny as hell but he's a really good interviewer. He always treats the guests like old friends.
But it's more than that. When Craig speaks you feel like he's speaking to you. Obviously he's not but he has this great way of balancing humour along with intelligence and vulnerability. That is why for me he's not just a great host but a great man.
i see Craig's vulnerability i see myself... i see craig's achievement i see how much more i can do with my life... Craig inspires.... tats more than a successful life
Ok, first: What a dick! He said Craig can do whatever he wants because no one watches it with a straight face! *shakes fist*
Second: When Craig said " I don't know if I want to do this for another 5 years" I immediately looked at the date of the interview! :D Aw... his accent... <3
OH MY GOD, did this guy just said he thought Craig did his "father" monologue as a stunt to gain compassion??????? How Craig didn't walk out on that... I would. He has such class.
Michael Eisner is right, Craig has gotten better every night overtime since he began hosting The Late Late Show 5 years ago. His monologue is funny and so are his guest. He made The Late Late Show very cool. I did not feel that way about Kilborn. Ferguson is a great comic and his voice IS unique. His role models are Mr. Letterman and Mr. Regis as he has said. Craig is a great talk show host and I look forward to seeing what is next for him.
I actually am really enjoying this interview and find the interviewer to be quite concise and respectful. It is obvious that he is dubious over craigs attitude towards the letterman spot but I suppose as part of the industry he would be very focused on celebrities career advancement.
the interviewer obviously doesn't understand craig's audience...which are counterculturists who dont want craig to be dragged into mainstream success and the bullshit censors that come with it.
Eisher is a jerk. Craig is answering EVERYTHING with good self control and decency like he have. Respect.
I think Craig is good with the 12:30 time slot. We all have Malinky if we miss him. No other host have a freaking fanbase and channel in Youtube dedicated to their shows.. :) Plus everyone loves Craig the way he is and the way he is hosting, we dont need him feeling restricted or anything..
aaaahh, second time i have tried to watch this....anyone know how to listen to craig without having to suffer through Eisner's inane and often disrespectful line of questioning?? just another reminder of how classy, self-controlled, and elegant craig is. and why we love him. thank you for posting this, malinky.
All the overt hostility in these comments is baffling. Eisner is being pretty low key here and trying to draw out the reasons that Craig is doing what he's doing...or did what he did. It's just a *conversation* (albiet with 'prepared questions'). Clearly Craig devotees are unbelievably hyper-critical. I love Craig but see nothing wrong with this interview.
@Steppeponytail Yeah, I thought this is a good honest interview, I have no idea who Eisner is (I'm a fan of Craig) but I'm surprised by the hostility in the comments.
It's hard for me to sit and watch this... Not because of Craig, but because this interviewer is a real douche! If I were Craig I'd say screw this and leave.
In his interview with David Letterman, Craig's accent sounds way different :S He sounds more English than Scottish. I think this interviewer was a complete prick.
Integrity and honesty is so foreign to Eisner that he can't recognize it when it hits him in the face. I think that when Craig feels something deeply we, his unseen & unknown foster family members, hear about it directly from the guy. He has a gift of incredible talent coupled with ethics, integrity and values that he can't hide from us. Bravo to Craig - he belongs in his current time slot, knows it and it works for him and for us. Long Live the King.
it is interesting to me that craig didnt mean the point the everyone else got from his speech about britney, we learn from our own pain not to judge the others but to reach out and try to help them. i love craig, he's real!
Yes - he used to do stand up with the stage name "Bing Hitler". It was raw, but funny.
He then cleaned up his material a little and his stand up show "The Ferguson Theory" was on television in Scotland. There MUST be clips on YouTube if you search under the name of this show.

Man, Craig is either 1. Losing his Scottish Accent or 2. Hiding it when he does his show.

If by going to 11:30, Craig has to change how he handles the show, he doesn't need to go to 11:30.

Craig is great,
he is only tv host who is ready to talk about his personal life and be open about his feelings,
when i watched his monologue about his fathers death i cryed.

Craig is just wonderful

It's a serious Craig interview....
Is that crappy lighting or did someone go makeup happy?
The vest is interesting...for some reason Craig's outfit reminds me of the English neighbour from The Jeffersons--THE CLOTHES NOT THE FACES.
I wanna make that crystal clear! XD

thanks for this
i notice his accent was stronger in 2006
craig is the best

Thanks for posting this - I watched his early stand up in Glasgow fifteen years ago. Thought he was hilarious then too.

Wow! You saw his stand up 15 years ago?! That must have been just before he moved to the US.
