That is a generalization, not all Gnostics considered him evil, the Valentinians had a fairly positive attitude towards him.

I'm a Christian Gnostic, I'm studying Gnosticism and am very new to it all, but am growing to believe it, it just makes sense to me. I've been reading the Nad Hammadi in particular, and don't see how Crowley came up with this stuff, but I'm still looking into it. My major problems with the EGC mass:
(1) it's a Marilyn Manson style ripoff of Catholic liturgy;
(2) the priestess is, without exception, physically hideous -- her disrobing does not in any way provide a moment of 'erotic beauty'
(3) the 'cakes of light' recipe usually involves semen or menstrual blood. Yuck. I would prefer not to eat yr spunk.
