this throw, like any other, is a tool. in the hands of those who know how to employ it properly it is a deadly weapon, while in the hands of a fool it is useless.
No it will not, trust me I do this stuff all the time and the truth of it is you have just as much leverage as them but there is something you can do that gives you the advantage and I can tell you how to do it if you'd like
@MrSaroni it works all the time every time haha. my older brother used to do this to me on the carpet all the time and i could never stop it even if i knew it was coming.
@MrSaroni yeah it should the grip he has on the arm and neck/base of shoulder should turn the persons center of mass over, so even in a more stable stance ( in the midst of real randori) the momentum of you driving his body to the ground form those points should push him off his remaining leg)
@MrSaroni If you unbalance them properly. Judo is about unbalancing, then throwing. Pull him off balance, and about any move will work (Or that's been my experience). Osoto Gari is a favorite of mine, though usually in the clinch.
are they illegal mexican aliens?

@MrSaroni
Honestly, this is one of the easiest throws to get in people, especially if they are under the influence.
You have to mix it up though. Don't just go straight for it. Make them scared of the power punch, or irritated of the jab, THEN go for it.
Feel their sense of balance and use the throw that best suits the situation.

It also shows how much you can do to your opponent when you follow through.

Of course its not going to hurt on protect-of mats but in a really fight and you did that to someone it would really hurt(On hard ground)!
