@anneloev Just a thought... How many bike riders have caused fatalities to car drivers/pedestrians as compared to car drivers versus bikes/pedestrians. When you ride a bike, you think mainly about your own life and most of the times see alot more of the traffic than car drivers do. Most of them know you have to use all your senses while riding, they are strictly busy with the road and traffic (even more at high speeds, whatever the law says). If you ride a bike yourself, u should know better.

I don't know if you are aware of this, but when a driver is traveling well beyond the speed limit, he is coming up on cars so fast that they probably don't know he is there, and they may pull over into his path. This is a big reason it is very dangerous to travel fast in traffic.

Yes, that all sounds good, except when a vehicle is crossing several lanes and moving so fast that they come out of nowhere and surprise you even though you cleared the lane change. I've had this happen to me on I-55 in Jackson, Mississippi. That was a car, too, which is easier to see than a motorcycle.
