In the new branch, President Byers has already seen the potential for growth. "I have seen members share their heart-felt testimonies of the Savior and the gospel. I know that this branch is necessary for those members to grow and flourish in the gospel and to not hold themselves back for the sake of a language barrier."
Wonderful video series, but I have one question. What happened to part 4, the one about baptisms for the dead? When I follow the link in the post it returns me to whichever video I was watching with the message, "The video you have requested is not available."
I think it is great that these videos are out there to help clear up the confusion about the purpose of our temples. Good job.
The LDS temples aren't "opulent" by any means. Architecturally they are pleasing to the eye as you would expect such structures to be. Symbolically they remind us to reach higher ground. The interior of these temples are hardly a reminder of earthly wealth. They are thought provoking, peaceful, and, yes, beautiful tributes to heavenly ideals.
Thank God for apostles and prophets on earth today. The Lord sent prophets from Adam until Christ. If there was ever a time when apostles may not have been needed you would think it would be when Christ himself was on the earth, but even then, he appointed apostles...why would anyone think it would be different now?
"The Lord sent prophets from Adam until Christ." Really? You are mistaken. If you look back at the account of descendants from Adam to Noah there aren't any prophets mentioned. That was 1056 years. Oh and don't forget the time between the O.T. and N.T. there were no prophets and that was some 400 years. God has not always had prophets on the earth. When He did, they were ALWAYS RIGHT in what they spoke from God. No need for changes or revisions. Can someone tell me why so many changes to BOM?
Yes, the Lord sent prophets from Adam until Christ. Some of them He even refers to in the NT, even though we have no record of them in our much-rewritten OT. I expect it was the same for the 400 years preceding Christ's. As for the last, I am not aware of "so many changes" to The Book of Mormon, only minor revisions to correct errors introduced during publishing, which back then was extremely labor-intensive, hand-setting each letter, space, and punctuation mark, and so easily subject to error.
In this video, Between Heaven and Earth, religious scholars of various faiths discuss the importance of temple worship from the time of Adam and Eve to modern man
I am going to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Corinth, Mississippi this summer after 2 years of learning and study.
He is not the "main deity". Because of the angel Moroni's role in restoring the everlasting gospel to be preached to all the world (cf. Rev. 14:6-7; D&C 133:31-39), the Church placed a statue depicting him as a herald of the Restoration atop the Salt Lake Temple, and later on the hill Cumorah near Palmyra, New York, where anciently he had buried the Book of Mormon plates. Copies of the statue have also been placed atop several other LDS temples.
doesn't the trumpet also represent the restoration of the gosple ? sence the restoration began with Moroni after the first vision that is . I guess we all look at different perspectives of what is used as symble
The trumpet represents Moroni calling the nations to the Lord and to the promised land thats why all of the Angel Moroni's face west except for the Seattle temple which faces east calling the eastern nations. Its a symbol of calling the nations and people to the truth.
I am so glad you posted this. I hope all who are studying about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will see this. This video really touched my heart.

The journey before these pioneers was a 17-mile-trek, symbolizing the one their fellow Mormons and ancestors made nearly 170 years ago.
It is certainly atypical, said Amelia Banks, of Brookline. But it is a really good way to see what they went through and put us in their shoes.

Of course not. If that's what you thought after watching the video, you unfortunately missed the primary message.
I'd encourage you to watch it again!

Symbolism. Just as Solomon's temple faced east so Moroni faces east sounding a trumpet to announcing the gathering of Israel.
