For almost Japanese, English pronounciation is so difficult since Japanese and English use totally different sounds and accents. Moreover, Japanese pronounciation is one of simplest pronounciation languages all over the world, hence, Japanese use really limited frequencies as the sound, and does not use accent generally.

So for example, it is difficult to distinguish between 'r' sound and 'l' sound for Japanese people generally.

its the fact that you can use difrent skins when playing...my guess is that they played a game(where the reimu user had the black skin) and then made a animation based on that battle...with a engrish song :D

The lyrics are not that bad, beside at 0:43, the English not bad. The clearness of his singing leaves much to be desire but that doesn't means he did not pronounce the words correctly. Its not clear but it was never wrong.
