i've noticed that in the description you put that Einstein isn't the famous one on tv but i have to tell you that she's pretty famous in my house. my son enjoys watching the videos of Enstein with his african grey that we call Roxie. they both think Enstein is funny and does silly things like hiding in the cupboard, repeating differant foods and her tribute to Elvis lol!
@Hitez04 We have not had any issues and no behavioral problems. Besides, she doesn't stay in the drawer all of the time. She has many other perches and places that we take her thoughout our home during the day.
wow, my birds are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO frigging boring, Everybody other bird has more energy then mine.
Looks to me she still has some of her wild instincts..good to see. She's finding hollows in the 'tree' for safety, refuge and nesting. You should get her a Mr. Einstein to nest with...
I own a double yellow headed amazon, hes very affection and has a good sense of humor, hes around 10 years old as of this year.
He is a talker, loves his showers and junkfood and when i rub his back and neck.
He squaks really highpitched when hes lonely, is there anything we can do to get him to stop squaking, maybe letting him out more and talking to him/ spending time wit hhim on a daily basis.
However i do not want him to grow dependant, as if he'll need to see me every momment of the day..
@420and666 I wish YouTube would allow links in these comments, but they don't. I have to refer you to an expert, Barbara Heidenreich. I am a big fan of hers and she is an excelent animal trainer. Google this - Stop your Parrot from Screaming for Attention Good Bird Blogspot The second result will be an article you need to read. I think it will help you. I also recommend you reading anything else you can get your hand or eyes on that she has written.
Actually, she not upset at all she's sleepy I own an amazon and conure and when they're sleepy they get the same look in thier eyes and puff up the same way. It's might be why she wasn't talking as much:) she's very cute how old is she?
Sorry for the delay in answering. Have not had the time until now. Your questions are very good.
Birds puffing feathers can mean a couple of different things. Birds puff up for different reasons. They can do it to make themselves look bigger if they feel threatened, to keep themselves warm if they feel cold, or when they are happy and comfortable.
Bite?

Einstein is so cute, smart, and very entertaining!! I love it at the 1:00 mark and after where she comes out slowly, eye first! That's a wonderful victory dance at the end!! Thank you for sharing this wonderful feathered friend.
What a clever little dickens! Dolly likes to open the kitchen cabinets, too. What would life be like without these entertaining, silly creatures? Dolly and I love Einstein!

You gotta be VERY careful when doing this cause if that drawer Closes she might get hurt Are you using like a stop or something in the drawer?
ruellersss 1 year ago 2
@ruellersss Yes, the drawer slides do have a stop that prevents the drawer from sliding in. Good point, thanks for asking.
