Darth Maul's an idiot for using that two-blade thing. In real life you never see two-blade swords for a good reason: the most basic fencing techniques would end Maul in 30 seconds.

All Obi-Wan and Liam have to do is keep Maul on point, meaning keep their sabers stretched out with the tip at his neck. Keep stabbing, and eventually he's dead. He can't keep you on point or parry, so you've got the main advantage swords were made for.

The only reason people like this is Ray Park's a great gymnast.

@jprice7 i dont wanna sound like a nerd but jedi's have the ability to be able to detect what they're enemy's next move is. darth mauls double edged sabre can make him multitask and since hes a sith lord he is able to be very powerful in the force.

@jprice7 lightsabers > swords. They can cut thro anything except forcefields. And sith/jedi arent normal fighters, they have force to enhance their reflex and predict the opponent. :D

@MrBuc, my sentiments exactly--basically the one thing they got right with this film. The annoying kid as Anakin, Jar-Jar Binks, the stupid fight where they were throwing water globs at each other... this was perhaps the most disappointing movie ever when it came out, and even more disappointing when the coolest character died almost before he was introduced.

Darth Maul got over confident at the end. He thought Obi wan wouldn't of been as skilled as he was and that's why he let his guard down and got killed, and he would of had to of died because then Obi wan would have had to apprentice under someone else, so for the stories sake he had to die so Obi wan could become a Jedi Knight (showing he was able to defeat a sith lord and bring peace momentarily) and train Anakin and not qui gon gin.

No problems. Its a sweet move...very impressive to pull off.

This really is the single best lightsaber fight of all. Darth Vader may still hold the biggest badass title of the Sith apprentices, but Maul is damn close. He was the guy that you let off the chain when you wanted someone dealt with. Ray Park is awesome.
