don't think that jacquie was layzy. she probably just had a hard time in the group because keren and sara never gave her a fair chance. i prefer the lineup with jacquie. she was really great and good looking as well.

Yeh, I think I agree with you. I liked Jaquie a lot!! But sara and Keren have dissed her a lot in the recent interviews I have read in the gay press lately. Saying that she was always late to meetings and never made any creative decisions. Perhaps they had had enough of her. Perhaps they bever wanted her in the first place.

you're right. they never wanted her in the group. when siobhan left they wanted to go on as a duo, but it was stock aitken & waterman who wanted a replacement, as they saw Bananarama as a trio. read that in an article many years ago. it's so many years ago that jacquie left that i don't see any reason for sara and keren to talk badly about her now. that's somehow wrong and i honestly don't belive them - they just didn't want her in the group and gave her a hard time...

Yeah, I never could figure out how Pete Waterman supposedly got Jacquie into the lineup after Siobhan left--Keren and Sara (and Siobhan) always talked about how they were in control of their images, the dance routines, and the group itself. Makes you wonder why K & S just didn't tell Waterman to f*ck off if they didn't want a third girl. Who knows what really happened?

What I loved about Bananarama is they always seemed to be having so much fun never taking themselves seriously-they always seemed to take the idea that they were just having a laugh with being pop singers. Whereas artists like Madonna, Prince, and Michael Jackson take themselves seriously. The girls seemed to just take life as popstars as it came.

At that time, one of the reasons Siobhan left was because she couldn't stand SAW and especially Pete Waterman. Siobhan said in an interview years later that she wanted to do songs with SAW that didn't use the word "love" but she was shouted down and outvoted. :(
