@UrReadingMyName Thanks for asking. We haven't been invited to any event yet. We've done some hosting of some local metal shows, but in those venues, we're just introducing bands.
People do trip out on children, but I think that parenting is the problem. Bad parenting is the root of abuse (well child abuse), and no politician or activists will bring it up because they don't want to "alienate" the voters.
Television was my baby sitters, when I was a kid cartoons were my parents who were at work, but to actually go out and doing something sets me apart by those who don't.
@arreshavoc We appreciate that, man. If you're on Facebook, become a fan of our page and you can keep up with a lot of other stuff we're doing. Anything you can do to help spread the word would be appreciated... big time! Thanks again.
Total respect for you guys. It's a shame some folks didn't see your point of view in the first place
For most of my friends, the pictures are just a bit of fun, nothing more.. Why am I not doing it? I'd much rather do research, donate etc, I don't wanna fool myself into thinking it's an active step toward change. But as you said, it does spark up discussion, which is always good.
Awesome to see you being proactive and giving out worthwhile advice. That's what I love about MM,
You can't always protect your children, no matter how hard you try. Of course people are going to get their panties in a twist, but at least you guys are out there trying to bring awareness. I think sometimes people just jump on the band wagon. I'm a child/family study major for abused and neglected children. I hope I can make difference like you guys one day. Keep doing what your doing. Its awesome.
I must admit I changed my profile pic even though I thought - "How is this going to help!?" But, if it it helps in some small way -Why not? I abhor familial violence!
It's like the yellow/pink ribbons folks put on cars. The fact is most of those bought in dollar stores across the country aren't benefitting anyone at all charity-wise. So, they are merely raising awareness too... If you came down on those as being "slacktivism" you'd get some backlash too.
