And Ford is one of the most succesful rally manufacturers in the history of rally. Go to the WRC website and compare Ford's wins to any jap car.

@aserta That plastic bumber alone costs more than your car kid, that ploycarbonate is used in bullet proof glass, fighter planes, space shuttles etc... The company that provided the plastic is Lexan look it up.

@aserta You can thank the overly strict US safety standards for the polycarbonate rear bumper. Also it is there to help protect the differential, fuel tank, transmission etc which the Corvette team placed in the back to give the ZR1 a 51/49 weight distribution.

The Polycarbonate used is actually expensive it costs more per pound than aluminum, like i said it's only used so the Vette can pass the IIHS tests.
