The real reason of the prohibition comes from 1910. Try to read about William R. Hearst, or Harry J. Anslinger. The cannabis is not just the marihuana that you smoke, it can be used to produce clothes, plastics, biofuels, food (the seeds of cannabis are higly nutritive),paper. Lets get informed!!

Of course Cannabis can cause addiction, but cigarrettes and alcohol too... here in Mexico car accident related to alcohol are the first cause of death between young people, more deaths than related to drug use. I think is all about education about addictions in general (you can become addict to sex, videogames, extreme sports, etc) many people dont drink or smoke even when they are legallized.. so its going to be the same with cannabis...some people will like it, some others wont. @elyury29 Nadie ha dicho que no tenga mal efecto,tiene malos efectos como todo en exceso en esta vida, y con un abuso..ya sea el sexo,las hamburguesas, o el cannabis... desde luego,lo que queda claro es que la marihuana no es el demonio que tratan muchos de hacer creer.Su consumo moderado tiene muchas ventajas, y debería ser legalizado, pues el alchol y el tabaco son drogas duras y la vedadera lacra de la sociedad. Of course you can get addicted. You can get addicted to anything. They say (later in this documentary) that it aint physically addictive, but rather a psychic addiction. Which means you get too attached to the feeling of being high, that you simply do not want to stop. For example, why watch a movie "sober" and like it, when you can smoke a joint and love it?

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you in one way. But I also disagree, since you CAN get addicted.

U need to smoke marihuana and try why cannabis is illegal. But, the last year produced in the US about 3.2 Billion in profit.

I do smoke every now and then, so I too think its redicoulus.

Its all about money (blame the medicine manufacturers), and also as you say, the independance. Controll is something governments want, and keeping marijuana illegal is one way of maintain controll.

But it wont save the world. Erase some problems, create new ones.

Thats what I think anyways, I can be wrong, I can be right. Only time can tell. I would support a decriminalization, unsure about a legalization.
