I actually play "those Capcom" games but it's the way their new games have gone. What I mean is that you don't have to as skilled to play these newer games because of the points I made below to "hold your hand" while playing. I also do know what high-level play is.

@mariotaz another thing your looking at how the company has listened to the casual players ( and not the hardcore/tournament players ) and made the game somewhat easier for players but you are not looking at the other companies Namco put a power increase system in Tekken 6 to help comebacks, Midway/Netherrealm put the hyper rage in DC Universe to help other players every company has done it at some point so you can't just put that on Capcom

Capcom has a rich history of fighters, and it continues to build up. Mortal Kombat and KoFXIII are good games, don't get me wrong, but Mortal Kombat died out pretty fast and King of Fighters XIII is a difficult game to understand and how combo's work. Which turns off a lot of fighting game players. It's sad. And also a shame though.

I usually sit there throwin w/ her until she gives up & fights me b/c her fan combos arent workin. its simple, fans do low damage & are slow so on trade she takes more damage. fans are 7% if both hit & most other projectiles do 9%, on trade she cant combo btw. I dont always beat every Katana but they dont spam me to death either.
@chipenduck breakers are needed in ANY big combo game like this, KI, MvC. TvC held back b/c it was only a Wii game, also MK9 out sells present Capcom games by a good margin I hear. I play them all btw & plan on gettin UMvC3. If breakers ruin the game for you than I guess you dont like defensive tactics, period.
@mckinley1300 the only reason breakers would be needed is if combos did ridiculous dmg. mvc doesnt have breakers and its prolly one of the most balanced games as far as variety in character roster goes at top level plays. the problem i see with breakers is it literally stops the game and resets the fight. imo a mechanic like that, especially the way it is in mk9, destroys the pace of the game and makes it hard to get hype going
@chipenduck I don't agree. I think it adds to the hype. When a breaker happens, I always think "damn, what's going to happen now, who has the advantage, can this player still come back, etc". Besides, breakers add depth to the resource management of the super meter: spend your meter offensively or defensively? Do I break now or just eat the damage so I can use 2 EX attacks?

... Breakers are fine... it's a fair trade to give up meter... makes your offensive less effective.
And hey, in Tatsunoko you don't just give up meter, but also a portion of your life to escape from one of those long ass combos... which, if anyone ask me, is fair...
You can also defend on those "crashes" and you can attack just after they did them... a skilled fighter will be able to predict them and strike afterwards Royal Flush did it twice in a row.

MK9 is an amazing game but its not something that people will continue to pick up as time goes on. i think one of the biggest reasons for that is the dmg combos do and the way combo breakers work. u almost always save meter and almost never get an actual combo without someone breaking it instantly. its a lame mechanic imo and it completely ruins the pace of the game.
@chipenduck I don't see how the Breaker is a lame mechanic it stop your opponent from getting big combos off you and enable you to get in your opponent's face and do some damage.On the otherside it takes 2/3 of your meter to do it,a hefty price to pay to get him off your ass.so I don't see how's it a lame mechanic.
P.S the damage on the combos are just fine for this, game that's why people flock to it :)

TvC was actually a marvel like game with combo breakers and that was one of the things that held it back as well. it just ruins the pace when u land a clean hit to combo with yet its ur character that flies back. its pretty much a reset button, which obviously is terrible for pacing.

This is a great game to play with friends but sadly i dont think its going to last long as a tournament fighter. Because all you have to worry about is either blocking low or high there isnt much mix up opportunities. There hasnt been a "wow" moment where someone does something and it completely changes the way the game is played in tournaments.
@maxismydog101 there honestly are. When I go online, I get that feeling at least 10 times a day. This game just isn't streamed enough to give you those "wow" moments often enough. So, tbh, you are correct. Although if people play MK more and stream it more, we will get satisfaction eventually. :D
@shadowd63 I went to evo last year and watched Mk9 top 8 matches or whatever barrack it was, and after awhile it felt like the same game over and over. I cant explain it. There wasnt like a hype moment like SSF4 AE. And they streamed it on Wednesday Night Fights for the first couple of weeks but stopped because people lost interest. Its a fun game, but because the gameplay isnt as solid as other fighters, id be pleasantly surprised to see it played at EVO next year.

@RudeBoiz18 wat im trying to say is u barely ever see those high damaging combos because of combo breaker. i can respect that u see combo breakers as a smart mechanic that adds depth to meter, however, u cant deny that at the very least, it slows down of the game via almost a reset like way, though realistically (imo at least), it nearly makes meter sololy a combo breaker tool. tl:dr basically combo breakers ruin the fast-paced high dmging combos aspect of the game that u mention

This is a great game to play with friends but sadly i dont think its going to last long as a tournament fighter. Because all you have to worry about is either blocking low or high there isnt much mix up opportunities. There hasnt been a "wow" moment where someone does something and it completely changes the way the game is played in tournaments.

@maxismydog101 there honestly are. When I go online, I get that feeling at least 10 times a day. This game just isn't streamed enough to give you those "wow" moments often enough. So, tbh, you are correct. Although if people play MK more and stream it more, we will get satisfaction eventually. :D

@shadowd63 I went to evo last year and watched Mk9 top 8 matches or whatever barrack it was, and after awhile it felt like the same game over and over. I cant explain it. There wasnt like a hype moment like SSF4 AE. And they streamed it on Wednesday Night Fights for the first couple of weeks but stopped because people lost interest. Its a fun game, but because the gameplay isnt as solid as other fighters, id be pleasantly surprised to see it played at EVO next year.

I just hate when people call a good game bad, because it gives me the impression that they think they know everything and that everyone else should see it as they do. I hate those kind of people.

You assume so much based on so little, In 3rd strike I main Oro, in hd remix I play blanka, in UMVC I usually use x-23 Sent Spencer. In arcane heart I use gravity Kira, I don't have a main team in CVS2 since I don't play it as much.
And in SSF4 I main Dan fuckface, so why don't you take your assumptions and shove them.
