  • It helped alllllooooot

  • hey, i do this but when i have a few put together the stick to each other olmost like velcro, help?

  • THANK YOU!! haha I've been searching forever to figure out how to make them.

  • Would it ruin a flat iron that can be used on wet hair? because i have one that you can do that with but i dont want to ruin it

  • @IWillEatYourHeart I'm thinking it would. you wouldn't want the "hair" you are ironing to melt to your straightener.

  • @starsurfer13 just kidding looks like she did it...

  • just attempting now my first time ever..and im usually so bad at crafty things and hair. but this made it so easy!

  • @MsWickedNinjette17 i totally watched this as i was making them.. it really did make it so so much easier!

  • I'm useing hair from a long blonde 5$ wig, because my mom wont buy me Kanekalon hair from Sally's down the street.. and the funny part is she's a hair dresser.....

  • I have troubles with my ''loops'' they're all fluffy and messy...

  • Will it ruin your flat iron? cuz I only have one and Idk if itll ruin it cuz I use for my hair..

  • @xxxBloodyGermanyxxx I bet it would so I suggest maybe getting another one,

  • @xxxBloodyGermanyxxx I've used flat irons, just don't leave it on for more than 20 seconds or it will begin to melt and stick. I have used flat irons for ironable and nonironable synthetic hair so I've got some experience.

  • does it smell like kanekalon when u do it this way?>

  • Thanks for sharing! love your videos!

  • Love your videoes !<3 But I don'e have a flatoniron D: Can I use a straigthner? ( I am from Norway, so sorry really bad English xD)

  • @Amor1348 Flat Irons og rettetang er det samme bare forskjellige måter å si det som fletter og fletter:) Beklager hvis min norsk er dårlig jeg bruker Google oversette: P

  • How many dreads can you make with one package of kanekalen synthetic hair?

  • OMG! Meet your master is playing in the background! That's my favourite NIN song :)

  • wouldnt it melt the synthetic hair when you just put the flat iron straight on the hair?

  • @ahhnikitaa it gives it a frizzier more dread-like look.so in actuality its a good thing.

  • what heat dose the flat iron need to be on ?

  • Thank you, this helped me so much, especially with backcombing, my dreads before turned out terrible, but they're so much more even now, thank you loads for the tips! :D

  • did you tease/back-comb the hair before twisting it?

  • This was really helpful!! Thank you!

Also,do you know how to make curly dreads? You should make a video if you do! :D

  • Awsome video i put in an order for some synthetic hair myself xD Gonna make some dreads for myself :D Thank you soo much for this vid!!! <3

  • Awesome videos! I'm totally going to favorite

  • this isnt really my thing but i would love to make some for some photos

  • Good tutorial!

  • How long does that take you to put a full set of dreads into your hair?

  • Mine are really hard.... Is that right? :p

  • Don't press too hard *SNAP!* Lol.

  • wanna make out?

  • This was uploaded on my birthday 8D

  • Very very helpful ^_^ love all your vids, so awesome ^_^

  • so I did what you showed and I failed 2 times I don't think I can do this :(

  • SO HELPFUL! Youre so cute!

  • I tried to make dreads before, but from watching this vid, I made alot of mistakes.....This was very helpful, thank you! <3

  • THANK YOU ! :*

  • the top and middle of my dreads always end up thin, I used the same amount of hair you used in your tutorial (where you made the white dreads), also I didn't put too much pressure on with the hair iron. Though I did notice your finished white dread was quite thin, then you flashed your candy cane and black and yellow dreads, I noticed they were a lot thicker... Is there a reason for this? Or is it something that happens over time (after wearing them a lot)?

  • @Poskywii I've been doing a ton of research on making dreads, and I don't know for absolute certain, but I'm pretty sure it depends on how much hair you use.(Not in length, but in width, if you know what I mean.)

Another thing is that if people use alot of hair, then they notice that they struggle to get thin ends. That's because they don't... I'm not sure how to explain it, but they don't 'mix' the hair. It's just a method to make the hair look how natural hair would.

  • i was wondering how many bags of hair does it take to make a full head of dreads?

  • @Magicallolitamomo you usually don't make a full head persay but like two pony tail amounts which i would say is two to three bags. Good luck

  • @Magicallolitamomo Depends upon how thick they are. I've never made these but I want to. I think it might take 3 or 4 bags at most costing you probably no more than $15 to $20 at most!

  • awesome

  • So, do you make different lengths for different parts of your hair, or do you just make one solid length?

  • Thank you for making this video :D I never understood how to make them until now... Now I just need to get a straightener and some kanekalon XD

  • " Cause otherwise its gonna woinwoinwoinwoin.. "

  • thanks for putting up this video it helped me a lot when making my dreads

  • This video is amazing and you are adorable. THanks for the tutorial. ^ ^

  • How would i go about buying some of your amazing Transitional dreads? :)

  • Very useful and very well explained!

  • Comment removed

  • Wut heat setting us ur flat iron on?

  • 3 people can't make synthetic dreads! XD

  • Man, I've been making these lately. I hope whoever's buying those paid you good. I don't think I could be paid enough to do hours of that for someone else.

  • I love your videos!

  • WOW! :D Thank You! :)

  • i love ur videos im watching them to make my own dreads lol :) and ur very pretty

  • you have a cool accent!

  • What is the song in the background? Not when you're fast wording but when you are talking?

  • What is the song in the background?

  • @maiasiag Meet your Maker By Nine Inch Nails

  • Thanks so much! i love those candy cane dreads :]

  • must take forever to do a whole head piece!!

  • Thanks so much I make dreads for myself, it is always great to see other people's techniques and tips and tricks! I never braided it to keep the loops nice, and now I will try using my flat iron to seal, I didn't know I could do that, thanks for the videos!

  • thankyou thankyou!!!!! :D

  • not to be mean or anything but u did say u was going to make a video on double ended dreads but u didn't do it

  • i love the green ones lol

  • Thank you. That was just about the best done of all the dreads / falls tutorials I've watched. I'm running a panel on yarn falls and dreads for a scifi con, and wanted to have multiple techniques to discuss, so I've watched many, far too many vids. Your demo is clear, the audio is not to quiet, and you're not running on until you're out of breath and panting. Good camera work, good presentation.

    Very well done.

  • lol dang mine never come out like that I don't know what im doing wrong :/

  • fantastic tutorial i love it !

  • your videos are so helpfull^-^ and your accent is so cute!^-^

  • Thank you soooo much for these video tutorials! I just found your channel and had to make a YouTube account just so I could subscribe. You're awesome, and by the way, the Nine Inch Nails in the background makes me adore you even more! :D Yay! I'm going to make my first falls!

  • i love the way you talk haha

  • jag har sett nån som har lockiga dreds. använder man bara en locktång då lr?

  • how long does the whole process over all take?

  • Just made my dreads and used this method :)

  • i have a question....okay I've been doing some dreads and everything is going fine and dandy but i cant seem to make the outcome of it puffy...when i finish doing the straightener part it seems to come out to thin....should i put more hair? should i leave the straightener on it for less time? should i comb it more with a brush before using the straightener on it? help! much appreciated! thanks!

  • NIN

  • If I use hair extentions from hotopic will they work? If not how to I get this type of hair?

  • @vinigure22

i can help you with that!

You can go to any hair store near you. Like sally's. and i don't really think hair extensions will work because their not made from the same material synthetic hair is made out of :)

  • @esasqueeky what about synthetic hair extentsions? bc i have old ones id like to make dreads out of. anyone know if this will wrk?

  • @sushiqt07 I guess so but make sure their from the same material that synthetic hair is made out of :)

  • thanks so much for posting this, you are amazing. in process on my first dreadfall for myself.

  • Great tutorials!

    I buy Kanekalon on Ebay.

    Happy Dreading :D

  • wow.... really it's so easy ??

  • does it damage the hair straightener ?

  • Hell yeahhh!!!!!

I`m thinking in making some dreads yor me now, and the amazing part of this dreads is that you dont fuck up your own hair.....

all i need naw is a place that sales that kanekalon hair here in mexico and start on this pretty things!!!!!!!!

" may be i can do some money with these ones... "

    jaja

thaks for the tutorials... also those transitionals dreads are amazing...and is the better way to seal them ...and easy too!!!!

    thanks from mexico...

  • looks some weird but easy XD

  • ty so much for this. and can u use something other than a flattening iron to seal them? i know some people use hot water, but idk if you will still get the thin ends that way.

  • where can you get the synthetic hair at? and what is the price range of it?

  • Where do you buy your synthetic hair?

  • Uhm,sorry but If I want a "soften" dread, can I twist the fake hair less than you?

    I love your work :)

Unfortunally in Italy is not so easy to buy fake hair :(

  • thank you for these videos, you've helped me out loads :) really thinking of making dreads now,,, i just need somewhere that sells that hair in the UK

  • Isnt it bad to straighten a towel? because i want to do this but im not sure if its okay to straighten a towel. if you do straighten it, nothing will happen, right? Please reply. Thanks

  • @kai4589 Well apparently its fine :P Thats how shes done it and its fine for her lol

  • This is sooo nice tutorial and very useful for give a twist to my looks, thank you so much! loved it <3

  • and now i finally know how to do tht shit

  • hmm i might try it your way because i tried a few yrs ago with green synth hair and it wouldnt lock and it stayed frizzy ;(

  • Thank you so much for making this. :D it's so helpful I've wanted to make these for a long time and you're so great. :D

  • Can you use real hair and do the same thing? Or does it have to be synthetic.

  • Synthetic I think, because it 'seals' with heat and that is how the form the dread :)

  • Great Tutorial!!! been wondering for years how this is done... only my flat iron fries the synthetic hair I have on wigs... my question is that this "kankekalon" synthetic hair can take the heat from flat irons? Is that the trick on making these? Using Kanekalon hair...?

  • Yes, when the heat hits the kanekalon hair it seals it and binds it together, and some people use boiling water to seal their dreads, or a clothes steamer. 100% Kanekalon hair is by far the best synthetic hair to use for dread making. Because it backcombs easily and also seals very well with heat.

  • nice i going to do some sune after this video :D <3

  • How hot do you have your straightener? Mine heats up to 410 degrees fahrenheit and I just seem to melt the hair when I touch it

  • im having a hard time getting the ends to seal. the dread looks ok but the ends fray out everwhere or i end up burning the dread trying to seal the end. any advice?

  • can u use wool instead of the kanekalon hair??

  • so thats how they do it amazing now I can make my own

  • Amazing... good job gurl :]

  • Hahaha "THAT looks like a dread! It really does, oh yeah!"

  • you are so amazing i love the dreads..

now im going to make my own.

Thanks so much for making this video!

    :D

  • How do you know if your dread is burnt?

  • you wouldn't really. your best bet is boiling water. True you may get little burns but its best for sealing the dread.

  • @annaalyxia

With Kanekalon, if it starts melting haha

  • Hey, where do you find the kanekolin hair to make dreads?

P.s. love your tutorials very helpful! :D

  • I recommend ikickshins. just google them.

most beauty supply stores carry the kanekalon hair too, but sometimes not in the colors you'd want.

its fairly cheap too. 1-4 bucks max. ^^

  • thanks : )

  • Wont it set the place on fire?! Water + electricity= my mom isnt happy. I just burned tooooo many dreads...they looked like cotton candy,...

  • I like the noise you make to explain how the dread is going to unravel :P

  • What temperature should the straightener be on..?

I wanna do this but I don't wanna burn the kanekalon. xD

  • Hey! This is a great tutorial, but I have encountered a problem in making mine (and I do it basically the same way as yours) . When I get to the bottom and put water then the flatiron on the dread, it burns the hair and it curls and stuff at the bottom. Any suggestions?

  • Is it the whole of the bottom or just stray hairs, cos ive gotten the stray hairs burning and curling but i just cut then off. perhaps you could only use the flat iron at the VERY end or hold it on for less time so it only slightly singes.

  • try dippong it in boiling water in a pot on the stove instead..

  • yeah..its 2 times better ...!

  • You may need to put it on a lower temperature. I've burned soooo many dreads before I actually realized what I was doing.

  • just wondering you said you were making one for the two different colors. did you post one yet bc i could'nt find them. or im just losing it lol thanks

  • what do you use to straighten your real hair with if you don't use a straightener??

  • she meant that particular one

  • great tutorials, i might try this if i can get my hands on some of the kanekalon hair =)

  • I just tried this on my nylon clip in extensions and it turned out ok actually, dunno what they will look like when they are in though

  • i have a lot of problems with the ends of my synthetic dreads. they always seem to come undone or never stay in the first place.

  • I love you. :)

    Your videos are super awesome.

  • thanks a lot!!!! ♥

  • question; does this ruin your straightner?

  • I wonder if you can use this method on real hair?

  • I wouldn't. You can really mess up your hair. It probably best to just use synthetic. :\

  • Thank you for showing how to make the dreads :)

  • how much is the kanekalon hair and can i get it from a store and not online

  • about 2:00 and you get a ton.....i bought mine at a beauty supply store like sallys :)

  • excuse me i meant $2.00 xD

  • any beautysupply spot has it in packs. they r 4-10 in new york depending on how much comes in each.

  • You can buy kanekalon hair at pretty much any beauty supply stores like Sally's(though they don't have many color choices..). They run about 1.50-10.00USD.

  • It's like, two dollars in the US and again, if you live in the US, Sally's Beauty Supply has it.

  • This totally helps! I'm about to start mine. All black, though. I may make a few neon colored ones, but the plain single loops just for kicks. Thanks! =]

  • How hot does the straightner have to be? if it's too hot will it burn the synthetic dread?

  • superbra! Tack för tipsen :P

  • can you do it with streightners?

  • i like yoursss wayyyyyyyy betterrr.the girl who made mine were fatt.and shitttt.and biggggg asssss looooooooop.

  • love the video, I'm gonna make black and red ones for halloween!

  • Tack för tipsen, ska nog ta och prova detta sätt:)

En fråga bara, hur varm skall plattången vara för att dom ska bli försluta.

  • thank you soooo much for posting this it's helping me out alot!! :D

  • thank you so much for the info on how to make dreads...your way is the best!

  • Thanks for making this tutorial, it really helps. I always messed my dreads up with the end bits.

  • can you make them for me?

  • i tried this with wool. NOT a good idea lol :P

  • why, what happens?

  • wool dosent seal as good as the kanekalon hair does... ^_^

  • how many times I can seal the dreads?

  • as much as u need 2 i think...unless it stars burning of something, well if thats posibabl...some other girl said that u can seal it as much as u need 2

  • in my area they sell this hair everywhere in in grocery stores 3 for $1. i live in miami in im black. we really dont use this anymore thats why its cheap

  • good to know! I've been going to the wrong beauty shops

  • i like ur accctsent lol its soo pretty were r u from, but its ok if u wont tell me lol

  • She's from Sweden.

  • your english is very good i think c: and thanx for the videos very helpful c:

  • is that a steamer or a hair straighener?

  • Hair Straightener. She says that in the first video.

  • Thanks for this video! and for the first too! Now I get it how to do these. :D

  • amazing tutorial. I've been wondering how to do falls for a long time now, thanks for sharing your skill with the rest of us :)

  • Your videos are so useful, i have a friend that made some and i though that it would be really complicated so all i need to do is find synthetic hair(where?)
