  • no offense intended. never met J-Rob. He is a great picker!!

  • That would be J-Rob Jason Robertson on the Mandolin.

  • The tune is "Big Country". Alicia Nugent is-as always-Beautiful! Mandolin-do not know. Bass-Jennifer Strickland-Banjo Sir Thomas Wywrot. Last, not least-The Ibma guitar player of 2009--Josh Williams. Congrats to Josh. Great pickin by everyone!!

  • Any one know what the name of this one is

  • @flatpikinguitar

the tune is BIG COUNTRY. have a great day.

  • notice the tony rice lick! love it hah

  • The song is Big Country

  • Thanks for the info. You guys are playing some

    goods stuff. Sounds great.

  • Now that is bluegrass;the guy on the Martin

    guitar is awesome.

  • That's actually a Kendrick guitar and the guitarist is four-time IBMA guitarist of the year, Josh Williams. The scary thing is that he is just as good on banjo, mandolin, and fiddle. I still haven't figured out if he's a better musician or singer. There are lots of videos on Youtube of Josh.

  • Actually, spbgma guitarist of the year not IBMA.

  • You're right. It was an honest mistake.

  • I knew it was just wanted to point that out. But spbgma to me means more. Ibma voting and stuff is so political.

  • No doubt. The lead singer of a very well-known and respected band who I'm sure you would know told me that the IBMA is "extremely political" which is unfortunate because the band of which I speak I believe to be far and away the most talented top to bottom in terms of musicianship, vocals, and song writing. Yet, as a band, they win none of the IBMA awards despite being nominated for Grammy awards.

  • yup he just won ibma guitarist of the year in 2008

  • I am Josh's big brother..and believe it or not, add harmonica, piano (self taught), auto harp, and my great grandmothers yukelele(sic) But alas, he wasnt always this good...imagine him at 9 years old across the room from me at midnight practising rocky top..thankfully Metallica drowned him out...but damn, look at hime now...very proud

  • The instrument that would get me is the fiddle. When it's good, it's great but early on, it's like two cats fighting while standing on a chalkboard. He's a heck of a musician and singer. I hope his band finally takes off as he is way too talented to be backing up anyone.
