  • The Santa Claus-God parallel just doesn't exist. Billions of adults believe in God, and yet, why should they? If they believe that God is as fake as Santa Claus, then they are intentionally deceiving themselves.

There's a reason adults believe in God, and yes, atheists do become theists. There are good reasons to believe in God, and there are no good reasons to believe in Santa.

If you are an atheist, then you must believe that several laws of science were broken in order to form the cosmos...

  • I would never insult the intelligence of someone with an opposing world view even if I vehemently disagreed with them. "Irreparable brain damage", what a narrow minded world view.

  • @mikejpete A friend comes to you one day and tells you that they believe in Santa Claus, again. They once knew, without a doubt, that the story of Santa was nothing more than a fairy-tale, and now they are telling you that he is real. Now, replace Santa Claus with God.

Why is this concept so difficult for theists to understand?

"When one person suffers from a delusion it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called religion." - Robert Pirsig

  • @mikejpete "I would never insult the intelligence of someone who believes in Santa Claus." Really!

  • Keatrocity for some reason I am being blocked from responding your last comment

    here it is anyway

"WOW why so hostile? I was just pointing out a simple fact. Anthony flew was mentally disturbed when he turned to gods. Sorry I forgot that theists don’t like facts"

  • my years of worshiping an imaginary authority were horrible.

  • Imagine your eyes reading this.... Then imagine a HUGE EXPLOSION causing you to respond.........funny huh?

  • I was never told there was no Santa Claus. I figured it out myself when I saw the presents in a cupboard. It was the work of a few seconds to realise "god" was made up too. I hung with Santa for a few years though 8-)

  • Your claims are ridiculous, because i lack a belief that pen A is not on my desk, I leave and come home later to find pen A on my desk, I can feel, smell, compare, write with, and have 100% proof of it's location, you are claiming i CAN NOT (am not capable of) believing that it is there? You are also assuming we are concieved with full knowledge and have fully thought out personal beliefs of everything we believe to be true. I'm 100% atheist, this is just illogical

  • Comment removed

  • you're fucking pseudo-intelectual

  • Every child is born an Atheist because it doesn't know what a God is.

  • @victoneter Nope, every child is born cause God is.

  • @skunksnag Prove it, I'd say.

  • i find it strange that when someone claims god spoke to them, the one who is told to 'prove it' is the one who says 'no he didn't' rather than the one who says 'god spoke to me'

i only ask one thing of those who claim to be 'atheist-turned-theist'... what evidence converted you?

and i never get an answer. therefore i never believe they were atheist.

  • I never understood how one could go from believing in no invisible/supernatural beings and then decide to believe in one of them. There is no more evidence for one magical being than any other as far as I can tell. I can maybe understand one converting to deism kind of like Flew if they are losing their mental faculties or afraid they might suffer forever if they don't claim belief in something. Otherwise, I suspect the vast majority of those making such claims are just lying.

  • I thought that I was going to watch something intelligent, and I ended up here..... THIS HAS TO BE THE DUMBEST VIDEO. No facts involved, just 3:06 of moronic badgering. This video gets the thumbs down!

  • @rmaynard626 I did not like the song, the video or photography..... Of course no facts were involved . I believe it was asking you a question. As an adult you see now it is irrational to believe a fat man in a suit knows what you are thinking, punishes you and watches you and rewards you with presents when you are good. Now that you know this unless you were delusional there is no logical way you could consider yourself a St clause believer, could you? Would you?

  • @Downfurlife The video was moronic because it attempted to equate Santa Claus and the fairy tale Christmas to Jesus Christ. If this guy did any research, he would know that the life of Christ is fully documented and credible. This is so stupid, in that even secular scholars know of the numerous documented accounts of evidence for Christ. The problem is that people do not research, and make stupid videos as such.

  • @rm Actually, their is not a shred of contemporary evidence that suggests Christ was a historical person.

If you are suggesting it is a well documented and historical fact that a man named Jesus Christ died & came back to life I would be interested in seeing "non canonical" evidence0-33 CE. Even the gospels were written by anonymous authors well after the supposed "rising" of this man. The earliest gospel is dated to about 70 by most scholars

  • @Downfurlife What about the writings by the Jewish historian Josephus, who interviewed and documented for several eye witnesses of the accounts of Jesus, and the miracles that he performed.

  • @rmaynard626 Josephus wrote much after the death of christ. Most likely about 110. Many of his writings are subject to pious fraud and this is accepted in religious scholarship as well. Whether you agree with the fact his writings are in "question" the fact Josephus wrote much after the death of christ and makes it clear he is just repeating stories he had heard is not subject to skepticism.

So good luck....... Learn about history.

  • @Downfurlife That is a lie... Out of the three writings of Josephus, only one was in question, and that was the "Antiquities of the Jews", which has been debated over Jesus's death as well as his ministry. It has been "debated" over amongst scholars not due to inaccuracy, or credibility, but due to a lack of corresponding points, in which they could test its credibility. As in the court of law, the burden of proof lies on the prosecution; and so, it is up to you to prove otherwise.

  • @rmaynard626 Google books:

Flavius Josephus on the Pharisees: a composition-critical study By Steve Mason

    The world famous:

Burton Mack - Who Wrote The New Testament

Jesus Interrupted by Bart D. Ehrman

Church father Origen (c. 185-c.254) appear in his Contra Celsus, Book I, Chapter XLVII(How about that one :)

The catholic encyclopedia and ready it is a quite in reference to pious fraud: ""The passage seems to suffer from repeated interpolations."

    I am only allowed Chars

  • @Downfurlife Josephus was born a couple of years after the death of Christ Jesus, which would make him a "historian". A historian deals in history, and Jospehus was that, not journalist. Secondly, You have to understand the jewish politics at that time. By Josephus making these claims at this time would subject himself to harm. Many Jews at that time would have stoned him to death for heresy.

  • @rmaynard626 ok question if they really wrote about jesus. how come the only people writing about jesus were christian or members of the church. how come there was no random person that so happened to walk by and write about him.. why is it that only people from chruch wrote about jesus but no random people. i would think if i saw jesus performing miracles and rasing people from the dead. i would write about it so my children could know about him. but no only christians wrote about him.

  • @xGoDzNoToRi0us Good Question! You have to remember that in those times anyone who did not side with the Pharisees, Saducees and abide by Roman law were automatically ostracised and killed. Jesus was mostly considered a rebel, and by the Jews a criminal. Anyone siding with Jesus were killed. The early church was brutally and systematically eradicated. The Roman Emperor Nero took pleasure in killing the early Christians. It would've been like writing a Jewish newspaper in a German Nazi camp.

  • @rmaynard626 Actually Jewish literature did arise in concentration camps. Just a couple of years ago, a document was found within the walls of a camp, and it had signatures.

One person who survived had signed it, and he discussed how they did it.

  • @scienceandmusiclover I never said it was impossible... It was simply an analogy as to how hard it would've been for an individual, as well as the obstacles that one would have to overcome in order to stay true to the faith. Why would a person knowingly put themselves in that situation if what he/she witnessed and believed in were not true? This was not one account but thousands of Christians. Heresy was and is not taken lightly within the Jewish society.

  • @rmaynard626 Not true, there is no evidence or documentation of Jesus (the bible doesn't count, it's all hearsay testimony written by people who never met the non-existent Jesus). NOBODY ever wrote about him during his lifetime. No secular scholar would agree with your claims, you are seriously misinformed.

  • Reading the bible confirmed that it is a load of BS.

  • @beyondbeyondness Yes, I agree reading the bible does prove it is a load of bullshit. Dangerous bullshit at that.

  • Never believed in santa , never believed in god.

Trying to understand why people need to have a belief in god.

    Doesn't make sense to me.

  • The proof you would have of someone being an Atheist is to read what the believed. You can't just make the assumption that they were never Atheists. Anthony Flew was believed to be an Atheist in his time, was he really deceived all along?

What's the harm in admitting that he really was an Atheist and now is no longer? Brain damage? Come on! Prove i!

  • many people keep comparing God to santa claus.. but i wanna know from you guys, have you ever believed in santa claus? i mean,it's like many people make an impression that kids do believe in santa claus.. i live in the equator, so the thought of having santa coming down the chimney in a winter is never in my head.. =)

  • You can prove a higher being, called god, exists out of the universe. Yet that changes nothing. There would still be no afterlife.

The meaning of life is 42. That is all that matters

  • The maker of this video is Stupid!!!! or has not thought this claim through completely.

I am an Atheist, though If im provided with proof that a god does indeed exist, I will be forced to reconsider my position. I will no longer be an Atheist. From the moment I am provided evidence to support the existence of a god, which can be tested be any individual and yield the same or similar results, i will have to accept it as a fact that a god does actually exist. I will no longer be an Atheist.

  • there must be a part of the atheist brain that is missing!!!!! all of it !!!!!!!!!!!! how can anyone believe in nothing???? do you believe this way to rebell?? why? you stupid bunch of idiots !!!!!! jesus christ died to save us from this stupid way of thinking!!!!! you've got to be full of demons and devils!!!!! thank god you bunch of creeps won't be in the kingdom of heaven!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @walter42194 i hit the like button on your comment because your stupidity made me laugh until i shit myself. Stupid ass Christians thinking you'll "Live Forever after You Die" Don't you even recognize the irony of that belief.

  • @walter42194 Think of it this way - I call it the reverse pascal wager. If their was any evidence for the truth claims of the bible, and the bible displayed impeccable logic and morality in its positions, and the bible did not contradict itself, or evidence of the sciences about the world we live in - WHY WOULD WE REJECT IT, IF IT MEANS SPENDING ETERNITY IN HELL!?

See, it fails on all these criteria, so why should we accept it as truth?

Fear makes you to accept it as truth, bravery sets you free

  • BACK!!!! YOU SPORN OF SATAN, I REPREMEND YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS. MIGHT A 1000 PRAYERS BE SPILL OVER YOUR DIRTY SOUL. MIGHT YOU BE SAVE AND NOT SUFFER AS MUCH AS YOU DESERVE IN THE DEEP CRAVISES OF HELL. I PRAY THAT THE LORD AND SAVIOR TOUCH YOUR DIRTY FILTY SOUL TODAY, RIGHT NOW AND MIGHT YOU AWAKE IN THE PRECENSE OF THE LORD AND ASK TO BE FORGIVEN. .THAT WAS DEEP AND I DONT EVEN GO TO CHURH. BUT FOR REAL DUDE YOU NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP AND PRAYING. BE BLESS.

  • THE FUCK AM I WATCHING

    WHAT THE HELL IS THIS

    I AM SO FUCKING CONFUSED

People learn things. I fail to see why one can't "learn" that a god exists, even though one doesn't, because they previously thought it was wrong.

  • @AntEyeTheist

...first person who comes to mind: Anthony Flew.

    also Lee Strobel.

The fact is any world view is susceptible to alteration, abandon, apostasy, and conversion. Granted it would be unnatural and an indelible sign of flippancy to do so more than twice but knowing the argument like I do, I know there to be convincing cases on both sides.

You speak very much like someone who prefers to condescend and caricature your intellectual opponents than to engage them in honest debate.

  • @Keatrocity

You speak very much like someone who prefers to make snap judgments about people you know very little about.

  • @Keatrocity yOU ARE SOOOOO FOOOLLLL OF POOP. GOD BLESS YOU AND MAIGHT HE FORGIVE YOU.

  • @Keatrocity yOU ARE SOOOOO FOOOLLLL OF POOP. GOD BLESS YOU AND MAIGHT HE FORGIVE YOU. i WONDER WHATS SO WRONG ABOUT DOING THE RIGHT THING AND HAVING A BELIVE IN SOMETHING PURE AND RIGHTHEOUS? WHERE DOES THIS HATE COME FROM AND WHAT BOTTERS YOU SO MUCH ABOUT PEOPLE HAVING A HEALTY BELIVE SISTEM? IF IN FACT THERE WAS TO BE NO GOD SO WHAT? WHY NOT STILL BELIVE IN A LOVING IMAGINARY BEAN? NO HURT COMES FROM IT FOR THE MOST PART BUT TO TRY TO LEAVE A GOOD SAFE LIFE. SO LET IT GO SATAN. BE AT PEACE.

  • @juniorisclean WELL SED

  • @Keatrocity Anthony Flew is a perfect demonstration of this video

anteyetheist states that full realization atheism is irreversible unless one suffers brain damage.

Anthony flew was crazy by the time he discovered gods, that’s not just my opinion but the opinion of people who knew him

my opinion is that any one who believes in gods is crazy

  • @hawkertruffelsnout I understand the insecurity felt when someone witnesses their cherished belief abandoned by another, an insecurity exastorbated when the one abandoning it helped define it, helped give it a name. Instead of whining, educate yourself. As it stands you are the midget kicking shins, interupting the discourse between adults engaging their intellectual counterparts. Crazy; seperation from reality. Denying reality Himself is the surest way to break from reality.

  • Atheism is just like some childhood concept/idea that doesn't stand in the light of day with you confront the eternal. Once you drop that make believe world of atheism then you will start seeing the truth. Remember this; When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Time to grow up atheist and get right with God. Time is getting shorter. But well done on the video construction.

  • Well... I think everyone is/was an atheist. A person is atheist until it learns about religion&god. Then it's whether the person will or will not became a person of faith... personally, I never had faith and it took me years to understand why do people believe.

  • Excellent vid! 5K*

  • The person who made this is the person I once was. It's a strange perspective I have now. I have said a prayer for you my friend. I care for you now as much as I cared for the person I once was. God bless.

  • @SabresPoint

If you were ever like me, writing something like this would be completely out of the question.

You were probably a bad person or thought you were, and now you have found god, or, as I see it, acceptance from other people who look to judge you.

When you bow to god you bow to people, because it is people who create gods.

BTW… God Bless = Fuck You, to an Atheist, "Potty mouth!"

You have not thought freely, "my friend!"

You are however conforming quit well though I'm sure.

  • When I hear people say they found belief after being an atheist, I am extremely critical; however, it is not impossible for this to happen. After all, we're all (implicit) atheists before we attain belief in the first place. Even explicit atheists--whom I believe you are calling Full Realization Atheists--can believe after hearing a convincing argument. Remember, we atheists are incredibly heterogeneous: we're not all intelligent, learned in philosophy, or cemented into atheism.

  • @ultramerton I think the key word here is" Realization" how much reality would you have to suspend to go back to belief.

The "James Randi Educational Foundation" to this day has not lost its $1,000,000.00 wager.

  • @AntEyeTheist

This depends on to which belief you are referring. I could never believe in the Abrahamic gods, as they have far too much convoluted and unsubstantiated characteristics attributed them. However, I don't think reality would need be suspended at all to have faith in a deist god; just consider philosopher Antony Flew's recent "conversion" from atheist to deist.

  • I like this video, and agree to an extent. But don't you think you're opening yourself up to the No True Scotsman fallacy? I mean your points are entirely valid, but I don't think that line of reasoning to get there is valid. You could simply assert that rather than having been atheist in the past, they simply had not examined the viewpoints in detail. Any educated atheist today arrived at that conclusion in a full-realization event (i.e. your video). I think that line of reasoning works.

  • @snoman99991

Not being a true Scotsman is far more subjective than not being a true Atheist.

Better yet, not really a Christian vs. not really an Atheist, apples and oranges don't you think?

Full realization Atheism is understanding Gods creator and why God was created.

You can't come back from that.

Once you learn the truth about something or the untruth, you would have to lie to yourself to believe again. So, it’s either you didn't find the truth or you are lying to yourself again.

  • @AntEyeTheist

I hear ya, and I'm glad you know how to rebut that if a Theist throws it at you.

  • @AntEyeTheist Way to make a false dichotomy. I am an open minded Christian and two of my best friends are atheists, but the difference between them and you is that they imply logic and reasoning in their arguments. You have just presented a false dichotomy with what you have just said. I don't mind having a discussion over such topics because I like developing an understanding for why people believe in the things they do, but I ask that they do so intelligently.

  • @jlangston23

    A false dichotomy?

Whether or not you are an atheist or a theist is a black and white issue.

When you understand that Santa Claus was a lie told to you by an authority figure with uncanny parallels to the lies told to you about the existence of a god, you cannot go back to believing in a god.

To argue the existence of a higher power is worth arguing.

But, let’s be clear. You speak of a god created by religion.

You have no argument, you've already abandoned reason.

  • @AntEyeTheist How many fallacies are you going to make? Refrain from lecturing me about reason when you cannot even make use of it in your own arguments. Yes you did make a false dichotomy. "Either you don't believe in God or you are a Theist. You believe in God so therefore you much be a theist." Disregarding the fact that there is the option of being neutral, believing in the absence of God.

  • @AntEyeTheist And then, if that wasn't enough, you end your argument with an 'Ad Hominem', the most common of all fallacies! Where is your logic? I have yet to see you imply any form of logic in your statements. Furthermore, you have also stereotyped me by drawing an illogical conclusion about what I believe and have thus discredited my argument, without any sort of sufficient reasoning for doing so. Next time, try to make a non-fallicious, objective argument. Thank you =)

  • @jlangston23

Improper use of the word "Ad Hominem" reflects your inability to argue intelligently.

I would be a fool to argue with you.

As for stereo typing, you got that wrong also.

Being a Christian is not a stereo type.

Calling yourself a Christian implies many irrefutable truths about you.

As for reason and rationality, religion puts the kibosh on that.

If I could reason with religious people there would be no religious people.

  • People only say "I was an atheist" to try and give their argument more clout, such as the banana man sidekick Kirk Cameron.

  • I'm not an atheist, I believe in Gods, every cell is a god, all my trillion gods communicate with each other to control my body and my mind.

    I worship everyone of them.

  • @saintpine

Well at least that's a prettier belief than a god that kills for not publicly worshiping him.

  • even though there is no difference. i can set you an example to contradict what this video says. Santa doesn't bring you presents as a jolly fat guy every christmas- true

Santa Doesnt exist- false, saint nick was a living person.

does the bible explain life perfectly without any imaginary contradictions-no it was exaggerated and is full of parables

does god exist- of course god exists, because the big bang is scientifically impossible, and due to the law of decay time isn't infinite.

  • @zepeterinma

Big Bang is IMPOSSIBLE! A universe CANNot CHANGE IN size!!! It

it could, that mean there was something else SURROUNDING the universe when it was smaller!! WHAT WAS SURROUNDING IT?!? God.....of course! Got a better idea, atheists?

  • im not an athiest. i believe in god. why was that comment directed to me? the video said god is as fake as santa. which i agree with because santa is real. and because santa is real, god is real too. Saint Nicholas was a real living person look him up

    -.-

  • @compsciguy

    Yeah, it's called Quantum Physics.

  • Hello Youtube,

Everyone who is reading this comment, please click on my username for my videos I made about the The Truth of the World. I have found out what the truth of life is, the truth of the world, and the truth of God. Please, I really want people to watch and listen what I have to say. No more living in false reality, no more living in illusions, no more thinking there is no way out......its time to lead your life into The Truth of the World!!!!!!!!!

I love our Lord!!! God bless!!

  • good video

  • oh the lolz i shall have tonight

  • There are no Christians anymore.

  • I love Jesus, my God!!! :)

  • Haha. Anthony Flew changes his mind to deism, takes a couple seconds to answer questions about a nearly incomprehensible subject, namely God, which he doing from his knowledge on biology not anything else and atheists say he has dementia!! wow. Atheist turn on someone they've admired for decades because he disagrees with them. haha

  • @116Phanatic So, Uncle Bill gets dementia from Alzheimer, so, you tell Aunt Ruth that Uncle Bill has Dementia and Aunt Ruth says, "Why are you turning on Uncle Bill you've admired him for decades."

That's some twisted logic you have there, 116Phanatic.

And by the way, all your Ha! Ha's! mixed in with your sarcasm makes you seem a fool.

Any fool can believe in God, in fact most fools do.

  • @AntEyeTheist

Are you saying that there are some fools that DON'T beleive in God?

Atheists can be fools too? That's offensive, don't you think?

  • @116Phanatic I've now read some of your comments to other videos and have determined that you are a simpleton.

Study evolution, the human brain and history, not the Bible, and I will take it back.

Simpletons wrote the Bible you know.

  • @AntEyeTheist

That has nothing to do with what was stated. Quit avoiding the subject, please.

You come off as a simpleton. And PROVE to me that the Bible was written by a simpleton?

  • @116Phanatic re Antony Flew - "atheists say he has dementia!!" . Yep. Guilty as charged. Suddenly believing in the supernatural at age 80+ is as tragic as wandering around the streets in your pyjamas having forgotten where your own house is.

  • @116Phanatic Did you miss the part of the clip about brain damage?

  • Anthony Flew suffered brain damage?? i think not.

  • this is the biggest reason why I want to move to Norway someday, 70% of folks there regard themselves as Non-religious. The folks that say that the vast majority of norwegians are Lutheran convieniently forget to mention that norwegians are enrolled automatically into the state sponcered Lutheran church at birth unless your parents opt out.

  • Nice, another rational critical thinking person posts a vid. Atheism and rational thinking pwns all.

  • What do ye not like me rhyme about the amazing dandyline(dandellon),

Which is God's pure example of masterpiece in design.

Aw but dang it Bob I forgot about 007,

He's that English gent that says there is no heaven.

Damn and blast it Bob, James Bond says there is no God,

And those who think so are so frightfully odd.

You don't need to think hillbilly, cause Richard Dawkins will do that for you,

Aw shucks Bob, come on now, compared to him, your place is in the zoo.

  • his opinion and his opinion alone...shame on this anti-theist...do you not have anything better to do with the time on your hands????

  • Many Atheists feel that it is important that we all live in reality and that is why many of us do what we do.

Little good come from those who say, "God told me to do it".

  • his opinion and his oinion alone...shame on this anti-theist

  • Did ya not know the story of Robert the Bruce Defeated in a cave from which he broke loose Twas a little wee spider that set him on fire To never give up from wire to wire But I found my spider although its a bird Inspired me big time this should be heard She flys non stop over sea and land Coromandel New Zealand is her flight plan She leaves from Alaska never missing a beat 11,500 kilometers such an incredible feat God made her ain't she amazing Sets you on fire spirits a-blazing
  • The Victory was 7 years in the making, Nelson was 7 years on shore a'waiting. Both were born in the same year, One with wood the other without fear. They say it took 100 acres of oak just to build this great one, On three decks,104 was the number of gun. And 2 foot thick was she at the waterline, But she wasn't a ship without design. Twentysix miles of rope to rig her is true, To get her anchor up took 72 men times two. I will destroy this taunting infidel, Stick around time will tell
  • Moksha is earned, not given, and that is the essential difference between Moksha & Heaven. One can beg for Gods mercy, grovel like a dog, and then be allowed to taste the pleasures of a flesh-happy heaven, but one cant beg for Moksha, because Enlightenment is acquired thru knowledge. Even if the Teacher takes pity on a student who turned in a bad paper, and passes him, it doesnt mean the student had suddenly acquired the knowledge. Reach for the Higher goal, reach for Moksha

  • I cannot tell you what you must do unless you ask me.

  • Is there anybody here who will turn their life to Christ

  • @Paul:Amen brother. Say the words and the Holy Spirit does the work. He's touching hearts in so many ways we know nothing about. Jer. 33:3

  • A Fishy Story

Beneath the waves I spied for me a sea school of flying fish,

oh to have that energetic life if only I wish.

And I marvelled at the way that they all moved as one man,

so pristine like and flashing by this marine life silver band.

Jesus Christ said that God was he who made these silver creatures,

but Mr. Dawkins and his cohorts say that they are better teachers.

  • Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' That will no doubt enrage atheists, but I hope you are prompted to ask God for proof of His existence and deliverance.

  • There are so many things that the Bible could say that would convince me of God's existence, yet, it says none.

  • To AntEye: I wonder why you would say that if you've spent any real time in the Word. Isaiah 55:1-3 gives the invitation. What it tells me is that I can't buy it, or work my way for it. Rom. 10:9 "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you WILL be saved." Intellectually believe and experimentally know. Peter realized, "Lord, to whom shall we go?" Once you've met Him, there is no one else. Peace.

  • Since we're quoting bible verses,

    Ezekiel 23:19-20:

Yet she increased her whorings, remembering the days of her youth, when she played the whore in the land of Egypt and lusted after her paramours there, whose members were like those of donkeys, and whose emission was like that of stallions.

That one is always fun to read to the kids.

  • @ Atheistvs...and your point would be....

Jesus said, "I, if I be lifted up, will draw all men to me'" Go to the light - go to the light!!!!!

  • My point is that quoting scripture doesn't do anything but influence believers. Quoting the bible is just a big circle jerk for Christians. You can quote that "The fool says in his heart, there is no God", but it won't get you anywhere with non-believers.

  • I disagree. There's a divine element at work. When you have a sense of need in you life, that is the evidence that Christ has wrought upon your heart to be sought unto, to do for you through the endowment of the HS, those things which we cannot do for ourselves. It's the real deal. Take the offer. Peace.

  • I disagree, there is no evidence for anything supernatural, you dont believe in the righteousness of Buddah, Mohammed do you??, You have been brainwashed like a child to believe in Christianity. As long as you dont force others to follow YOUR personal moral standard (Not even Christians all agree on what is moral and what isnt), the rest of us wont have a problem with you.

  • You won't find me FORCING my personal moral standard on anyone. I will plant the seeds that there is an alternative to atheism to consider. My advice is to keep an open mind. The confusion in Christianity comes from the author of confusion and lawlessness. One day, soon I believe, the truth of eternal realities will burst upon our senses and all will be clear. That truth will be admitted to by those who've chosen it, followed it, and by those who've fought against it. It will be undeniable.

  • @InHimAbide Hear Hear I like your way of saying what you have said

Those that are wise will heed what you have said.Thou art a good wise man.

  • @InHimAbide:Atheists are closes to God. God doesn't care which religion we belong to nor whether we are believers or not. That's an egotist proselytizing God. Atheists do good without expecting a reward, something we Theists cannot say. Learn to live like them.

  • @rama: Can't agree with you there.

  • Hell is a vile, abusive, disgusting concept. God buys love & loyalty with torture? A Gandhi, Teresa, Mandela would never think of torturing their enemies, whereas a Saddam, Hitler, Stalin would. This is the company that God keeps? Karma & Rebirth is the better, non-violent way. You are not punished, nor are you simply forgiven because you begged enough. The most important aspect of Karma is that you are held accountable for your actions, you are reborn, given another chance to make amends.

  • To : ramara: Hell has been misrepresented by Satan in an effort 2 cause us 2 think God unjust. Hell, everlasting torment; are expressions converted from the original text that mean the RESULTS of separation from God is everlasting. Think about it, why would a God of love want us 2 live eternal life with Him all the while knowing our unsaved friends and loved ones who chose not to serve Him, are writhing in pain for eternity? We'll know for a second and the tears will be wiped away. Rev. 21:4

  • @InHimAbide: Heaven & Hell going PC? lol - and what is this criteria for going to hell? religion? God is just a proselytizer. Rama's arms are open for good Atheists, he doesn't care about your religion, just your character.

Besides, if you hurt someone on earth, do you simply forget about them? You know they are suffering & in pain, all because of you. Heaven or Hell is right here - it is upto us to make this a better world - don't walk away, come back & help make this a better world.

  • I'm with you. I'm here to help.

  • According to a study from 2001, 76.5% of Americans (159 million) identify themselves as Christians. Sure, that was 9 yrs. ago, but I disagree with your statement that the USA hates theism. In fact, I see many young people converting. Atheists can remain in peace. Just keep an open mind. God can be the judge of whether or not I'm wasting my time. You shouldn't mind that because you don't believe in Him. And for the same reason, you won't mind that I pray for you. Peace.

  • Consider Eccl. 12:13,14:

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:

Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether it is good or whether is is evil."

  • An Atheist always knows when he has won an argument with the Pious and that is when he is called the Devil.

BTW, We don't believe in the Devil or Satan either.

    Peace

  • @AntEyeTheist You know maybe you and I could have had an interesting discussion but you blew it bugsy by telling lies about Walter Vieth

Yeah I like to talk to people but when you prove yourself to be a fibber

    Well I'm not that desperate

And if you don't get that then we might have to get you a bigger blackboard

    Thats life huh

  • @paulwilfridhunt "you blew it bugsy by telling lies about Walter Vieth"

Since when has someone's opinion become lies?

Did you think I was his psychiatrist?

What do you call someone who distorts the truth?

    Who is the fibber?

People are fallible and it is only people that present a notion of God.

This is what you are pinning all your hopes on.

    I wish you well.

  • @AntEyeTheist No no Pal you were telling lies or else I am simply forced to arrive at the conclusion that you are indeed demented.

There is no way that you can say that Walter Vieth is a nut case without being demented or a liar.

You are talking about a very brilliant man and I repeat the word brilliant

If I should put those who do not agree with me into the catagory of the mad then am I not by so doing putting myself out there in la la land for being so pathethic.

    If the cap fits huh

  • The very essence of deception is that you don't know you're being deceived. Satan has you where He wants you.

Acknowledge God now! Avoid the rush at Judgment! Check Him out now, or at the next crisis in your life - He will lift your burdens and your heart will feel light.

"God has exalted Him (Jesus) and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow...and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." Phil. 2:11 A future event!

  • I believe the example/analogy with Santa Claus is interesting, but even more interesting is the fact that we don't believe anymore in Zeus or the other Olympian gods (as western society) and they too are dismissed as fables, so nobody says: "I was an atheist and now I return back to believe in Zeus." Which would be the accuse moved to some Greek philosophers of the past.

This is how strange the human mind is, and how easily exploitable by these parasite religions like Christianity or Islam.

  • Great video. Religion is all about brainwashing.

  • Religion is about admitting there's more to life than the selfish one I indulge in....me, me, me.

  • Hi Dad!! Nice comments! I love the wording! I've been praying for the people in this discussion and I've been prompted to share this verse: "Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."" -John 20:29

  • Best Wishes Croc. I'm tired of debating and my answers seem to land on minds made up. As I've said before, don't take my word, or any preacher's word for the truth of the Gospels....you must have a look for yourself. I pray God will soften our hearts and do whatever is necessary to convince us of truth and with that prepare us for the upside of life after death. I wish you well.

  • I agree with most of this video, especially the role of brainwashing in cultivating belief. However, I'm a little skeptical of the claim that "Full Realization Atheism is irreversible unless one suffers brain damage," it just sounds too much like the No True Scotsman fallacy to me. It's conceivable to me, however improbable, that one could go from honest atheism to theism. I don't think such a switch would be justified intellectually, but humans are not exactly rational animals.

  • I am curious though AntEyeTheist: what exactly do you mean by "Full Realization Atheism"? I think I have an idea, but how would you define it?

    Cheers.

  • @croc: The "switch" you mentioned? It's happening more and more every day. I wish more brave people would tell about it on this site. Don't fear the bashing, the sting is momentary and meaningless. The weight of your testimony DOES lead to a change in people for eternity.

  • The key words are "justified intellectually," InHimAbide. Since such a "switch" would not be a rational, well-informed decision I cannot stake my life on it.

Please substantiate your claims that human life is eternal, without quoting the Bible. Or, if you wish to quote the Bible, first establish its authority to validate metaphysical assertions.

  • Jesus pleads before God in our behalf, saying: I have taken the sinner's place. Look not upon this wayward child, but look on Me. Does Satan plead loudly against our souls, accusing of sin, and claiming us as his prey, the blood of Christ pleads with GREATER POWER!

  • Whatever may have been your past experience, however discouraging your present circumstances, if you will come to Jesus just as you are, weak, helpless, and despairing, our compassionate Saviour will meet you a great way off, and will throw about you His arms of love and His robe of righteousness. He presents us to the Father clothed in the white raiment of His own character.

  • AntEyeTheist: "To surrender to ignorance"

    Me: "That's your assumption"

  • AntEyeTheist, this whole video is your assumption. What little you know is still very little indeed.

  • "Assumption?" No,,,

    Theory? Yes...

"What little you know is still very little indeed." This is true, "indeed."

The difference between you and I is that, my mind is open to reason and rationality and yours is open to superstitions and mysticisms.

Dogma is the antithesis of conversation and that is your platform from which you speak.

To surrender to ignorance and call it God has always been premature, and it remains premature today. Isaac Asimov

  • @AntEyeTheist Wanna go 15 rounds with me I'll begin with soft puches sing you a lullabye dance and sing then hit you with a freight train are you up for it? Here is the question it requires a simple yes or no Is there or is there not design in nature? Yes or no Just plain old yes or no No palava just yes or no Anybody can jump in
  • @paulwilfridhunt No to design in nature.

Now for my question. Define design?

  • I prefer the dictionarys definition for design which is essentially a plan.

We could go on about plan but perhaps you will be content with that for now.

I asked you is there design in nature and you say no.

I find that an interesting answer from an intelligent guy.

Blame it on my bumpkinitis but I see it differently.

Maybe you can help me out here teacher.

Suddenly I don't know what to say.

I say that I see the sun and you say no thats not the sun.

    I see design

    but you say no ????

  • @paulwilfridhunt Evolution, involving natural selection, adaptation and mutation.

I don't pretend to be an expert on Evolution but, there are many on YouTube, take a gander.

You cant answer the question of who designed the designer.

Please educate yourself on Evolution at least as much as I have and you will see why creationism is ridiculous.

Science may not have all the answers, but its not going to make shit up, theory, doesn't allow that.

    Respectfully,Ant

  • @AntEyeTheist When it comes to evolution I get my lawyer Walter Vieth to speak for me.

    He used to teach evolution

His only stipulation is that you watch his videos and then decide if you still wanna talk to him.

  • Yes, take the word of the (one) or very few that justifies your belief and discount all others.

(Natural Selection)- A natural process that results in the survival and reproductive success of individuals or groups best adjusted to their environment and that leads to the perpetuation of genetic qualities best suited to that particular environment.

Why is this so hard to understand?

With the use of Occums Razor, Design gets cut.

    I'm sorry, you fail.

  • Walter Veith - Is a mental case.

Seriously, hes not the scientist you should be listening to.

Pick another one from thousands rather than from maybe, a pool of ten?

  • @AntEyeTheist Now I know you that you are either a secret satanist or you are the one who is the nut case.

Nobody but nobody would in their wildest moments call Walter Vieth a nut case.

But its the sort of thing that a sneaky satanist would say to discourage others from making their own independant enquiries.

  • As a fellow atheist I wouldn't call Walter Vieth a nut case... I would say he believe's in fantasy, like all the other religious folks in the world, but calling him a nut case isn't deserved or justified.

  • Walter Vieth a nut case?

OK, I may have used these words instead of delusional or worse a deceiver of truth, a Charlatan maybe?

You cant really know if he truly believes what he preaches.

As an Atheist it is incredibly hard for me to believe that an educated person could propagate this deleterious dogma to humanity.

  • @AntEyeTheist We all give thanks to God on high that you are not a judge

God forbid that such a thing should ever happen whereby someone with your own special breed of insatiable appetite for those things that are not wise should become a judge.

You would have no doubt been happy with the women knitting away as they cheered and watched heads fall as Madame Guillotine did her work.

Has destiny been unkind to you. Do you regret dipping out of being a good Gestapo officer. You are well qualified.

  • @paulwilfridhunt- The narratives you accuse me of are words found in your favorite book.

    Have you read it?

    Atheists have no such books.

We don't have books that speak of violence, death and destruction.

Paulwilfridhunt- Why dont you just call me the Devil is that not what your book teaches you.

Nurse! Schedule this man for a Cranial Rectal Extrication STAT!

  • The Pious has gotten a free ride for far too long saying things that are "NUTTY" and not being called on it because its their religious belief and we should respect that.

It's time to put an end to this NUTTY notion.

If I said that I saw Elvis eating hotcakes at the IHOP you should be free to call me a nut case.

  • @wb8594 Well with all due respect to you I can tell by the flavour of your writing that you are not in the high IQ league of Walter Vieth. Notice how Mr Dawkins intelligence comes shining through in his written words and to see it doesn't require great intellect. He would never say what you have said not because he is polite which he is but because he sees and respects the brilliant mind that resides in Walter Vieth.

Lynching parties are no longer in any more

Try on the unbiased hat for size

  • @AntEyeTheist Dear Ant, as to your other question of who designed the designer, I'd like to have a go at answering that myself

Keep in mind that I am just another one of your Tom and Jerry's out there so please be patient with me ok

There are things which we find hard to wrap our minds around but nevertheless we know that they are true. Such as the neverendingness of space.

    Same deal for the designer

    Want me to explain?

Wanna talk about this a little more?

    Your servant Paul

  • Yes to design and yes to a designer. He's our maker, redeemer and supreme provider. Can't wait to see what's ahead throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity. "And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!" Rev. 5:13 -we all will undeniably acknowledge Him. The day is fast approaching.

  • @InHimAbide Thank you for your comment that there is design in nature.

I appreciate that even though you and I are on the same side.

I think that the way the great Abraham Lincoln reduced things down to their simplest terms is still a good way for us to operate today.

    The word design means plan.

People who say that you can have amazing plans without a planner are stating a nonsence.

Especially when these plans are superior to what man can make.

Think. Think. Think. Think. Think. Think. huh

  • How about a break from the selfish part of self and let some goodness come to the surface.... a random act of kindness, a smile...

"Who gives himself with his alms feeds three. Himself, his hungering neighbor, and Me."

    Best to you I pray.

  • The very essence of deception is that we are unaware we are being deceived. We either walk in the Spirit or lust after the flesh. Who has your heart? You can tell by the fruit of your life. "Let your beauty be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible ornament of a gentle and quiet spirit which is very precious in the sight of God". I Peter 3:3,4

  • I know several people that used to be Atheists, and have now been saved. Jesus said "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my diciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

    John 8: 31-32

I love science and the knowledge man has acquired, but it is Gods wisdom is what can open a persons eyes to the truth.

  • "I know several people that used to be Atheists."

That's like saying, " I know several people that used to be literate."

  • @virtualguitarist

People who say, I was an Atheist don't know what Atheism is.

Having a fight with your imaginary friend and calling yourself an Atheist does not constitute Atheism.

  • @AntEyeTheist Who fights with there imaginary friend? I don't have any imaginary friends if your talking about me. I also do not fight with anyone, so you might as well go find someone else to troll. You see, your religion of atheism causes you to assume things about people you know nothing about. I bet your parents are real proud of you.

  • @virtualguitarist Thanks for proving my point.

To call atheism a religion is like calling bald a hair color.

  • No commitments, no consequences, no reaping what we sow...? We subscribe to one philosophy or the other...(1) "What About Me"? -self, or (2) "I AM my brother's keeper,-self-less. In a real pressure-cooker situation, whom do you serve? Nothing matters but the wellness of the one next to me who needs help most urgently. Are you that one? How can I help you? Be encouraged my friend.

  • So true. The only way I could ever become a Xtian again is to have a Lobotomy or an extremely dangerous blow to my head causing brain damage. That's why I need to put something in writing asap so no one tries to convert me against my will.
