Nonsense. Doormen should be diplomats first, and fighters second. I hate nightclubs where the bouncers look like hulking gargoyles and dress like trash. Their job should be to maintain a respectable atmosphere and keep order, not to intimidate their customers. That being said, I do hope for their sake those ties are clip-ons.
Bouncers are probably the only security staff I still respect, and that's not because of their size or how tough they are, it's because they have to put up with drunken wankers every night so the rest of us can be safe to have fun! If it wasn't for boucners, there would be no pubs or clubs. The bouncers are probably the most important staff on a night out.

if nightclubs were generally cool places to go they wouldn't have door staff. Bathrooms are the most dangerous places in nightclubs. MOSt clubs that have that man in the bathroom in who sells aftershave is actually also employed to keep an eye on things in the bathroom

My mate Pete saved a bloke's life once. The guy had been literally bashed to death in the club's toilets. Pete gave him CPR until the ambulance arrived. A doormans job is to ensure customers have an enjoyable and safe night out. There are lots of great bouncers, but most I have seen just make you feel intimidated as soon as you step near the entrance of a club.

After working the doors for 12 years in some of the worst bars in the midlands ive never been marked or hit, & just one question for the lads in this vid while your all out side half way down the street who is in the bar looking after the rest of the public & stafftheir couldent have been a doorman in the bar at one point, bit naughty.
I'm currently working as a doorman, and I'm currently being dragged through the courts by the police for defending myself against a potential knife attack, the block came at me I told him to go home then a knife appeared.
Obviously I had to defend myself when he came at me again so in a pre emptive strike I hit him in the jaw one punch and KO'd him and then his mates thought otherwise and decided to run off.
I'm being prosecuted for a section 4, going beyond my job capacity. Crazy huh?
spot on video nice head cam footage. i worked the door for ten years. normal night for doorstaff. 2 qusetions tho why are two guys put out the same exit police would say if something serious happened door staff may have incited it. 2 why the hell is the guy wearing the head cam doin first aid with out any gloves on the guy aint in a death situation. my door staff had to have a pair of latex gloves on them in there back pockets as part of there uniform just in case but like i say nice video.

Another vital bit of kit that they don't appear to be wearing (judging by the lack of a outline under their shirts) is a ballistic & stab resistant vest. Better to wear one and not need it, than to need it and not be wearing one...

iv had trouble with bouncers before and they took it the complete wrong way. i hit a guy and a bouncer got my throte in a C lock and i wasnt even kickin off. yeah i do agree bouncers are there for a very good reason but alot of them do need to do the job properly and not think they can do what they like. respect to the ones who do the job properly. police are the fuckin pricks. hopefully ill be gettin a job in ibiza as a door man next year. peace.

i've been a doorman for some years now,i've worked plenty of doors in my time were just looking after you ..the public's interests and taking care of buisness,we go out of a fri/sat night to make sure you lot enjoy yourselfs...and put ourselves on the front line for that reason

I worked the doors on Bladwin st with some of these guys, they are some of the best guys you could ever wish to work with, true professionals who just want a safe night and put themselves in danger to protect drunken punters. One of the hardest jobs in the world! These are a special breed of people who deserve some respect and thanks for keeping YOU safe on YOUR night out.

My mate Pete saved a bloke's life once. The guy had been literally bashed to death in the club's toilets. Pete gave him CPR until the ambulance arrived. Another time I put a bloke down because he glassed a young woman. Right in the face. As I had this guy on the floor waiting for the cops a crowd of people like sza246 were spouting the usual crap about bouncers being thugs. None noticed the woman with blood all over her face. doorman have a hard job made harder by the police and some times by the very pubs/clubs they work for. i would love to see the police have their batons and pepper spray (or whatever they use now) and cuffs taken from them and dump on the door with no one to back them up see how long they would last

If bouncers only exist to start trouble, then why would the venues employ them? Think about it...surely that would be bad for business.
In my experience, most people only ever notice the last few seconds of any incident - especially when it involves violence. They never see the initial REASON why the shithead is being slung out. Most times it is because he/she was threatening or attacking another patron.

the door i worked alone at times i treated all customers the same. with respect untill the time came to remove them from the venue or if they attacked me first. i had a guy like u the other week even though his own friends called him a dick and told him to shut up cos he had no idea he still believed he was right i guess some people are born complete pricks ?

A doormans job is to ensure customers have an enjoyable and safe night out. There are lots of great bouncers, but most I have seen just make you feel intimidated as soon as you step near the entrance of a club.
Maybe they should dress like they are in this video, i don't know if its just liverpool but I hate it how they wear those big black coats and all seem to have shaven heads and ridiculously rough accents. Its like they are puropsely trying to intimidate.

I'm currently working as a doorman, and I'm currently being dragged through the courts by the police for defending myself against a potential knife attack, the block came at me I told him to go home then a knife appeared.
Obviously I had to defend myself when he came at me again so in a pre emptive strike I hit him in the jaw one punch and KO'd him and then his mates thought otherwise and decided to run off.
I'm being prosecuted for a section 4, going beyond my job capacity. Crazy huh?

spot on video nice head cam footage. i worked the door for ten years. normal night for doorstaff. 2 qusetions tho why are two guys put out the same exit police would say if something serious happened door staff may have incited it. 2 why the hell is the guy wearing the head cam doin first aid with out any gloves on the guy aint in a death situation. my door staff had to have a pair of latex gloves on them in there back pockets as part of there uniform just in case but like i say nice video.

I just retired from 20yrs on the doors in uk and ireland........thats just a normal kind of night in any bouncers night. Scum think they can do as they like. Im nt the biggest doorman and dont claim to be the hardest but if i have to get physical then so be it. Throw a punch and i'd let you have it back twice as bloody hard. RESPECT for any and all Doormen/Bouncers ...........and be safe its a shit life but someone has to do it.

Excellent video showing the type of scum bouncers have to deal with. Looks like it's been filmed on a (Head-Cam) one of the bouncers is wearing. A good bit of kit!!! Another vital bit of kit that they don't appear to be wearing (judging by the lack of a outline under their shirts) is a ballistic & stab resistant vest. Better to wear one and not need it, than to need it and not be wearing one...

Mcallister252 when you say these doorstaff are shit think about it first.The only reason you could see that the doorman was walking down the steps in front of the bloke he was kicking out was because he is wearing a head mounted camera and as you can see he was looking at him most the time and his two collegues were close by too.And your other problem with kicking them both out at the same time fuck em if they are fighting inside get them out so you dont cause problems for good customers inside.
