@0812201 Not the best technique with a steel boiler with expanded tubes , it can cause them to heat up unevenly and cause leaks. It is normal practice for most 4" to use a natural dfart off an extension which is how I steam up. Blowers are only needed for the smaller scales which struggle with fire box size for a decent burn.
Parts of it. It consists of some Modelworks Kits ( now trading as Steam Traction World) and the necessary bits to finish the build fabricated by John Rex Model Engineers.
If you buy all the kits on a pallet then its as quick as you want it to be, otherwise they try to send them out once a month for 24 kits so approx 2 years. Variations occur due to manufacturing issues etc. Alternatively buy one new from one of the many comercial makers or get a second hand one form a private maker. They will all cost roughly the same give or take a couple of thousand.

how long does it take to build up to 100psi

From cold it will be up to pressure in about 45 mins if there is a bit of a breeze. If not it has taken up to 90 mins which is a pain.
