most of the sri lankans are michael praid fans, because time to time they broadcasting the drama. i think more than ten times, and the finally people were too sad to watch that robin dies and they were not much happy with second robin(robert) role, the most handsome guy, even today he got old still looking cute,
@alphabetaxenonzzzcat This is very true. Robin of Sherwood with Michael playing the lead was by far, the best version of Robin Hood ever created. The music, the acting and the storylines were all superb. It rightly deserves to be held in very high regard, even to this day. Very special TV from a very special era. The recent BBC offering was a very bad politically correct joke and was totally laughable.
The BBC's 'Robin Hood' simply showed just how good Robin of Sherwood was! 25 years on, and it is still by far the best interpretation of the legend, even if you include the 'blonde' episodes :-)
Its a shame Michael Praed didnt move on to the bigger roles people expected, he was genuinely tipped as the next James Bond at one point.
Hadnt seen this interview before, so huge thanks for sharing.
Great archive interview! Thanks for uploading. Michael comes over as still very cheeky here and I enjoyed this more than some other interviews. Crown Prosecutor was a bit of a lark for him. Was Jake Lovell a villain? I don't think so. Maybe it was the sideburns and earrings?! That spikey hair was something else... LoL
funny over time history has changed a evil man who killed anyone who got in his way to someone who saves the poor and is a good person. if you knew the real robin hood you all wouldn't be so interested in him. the real robin hood was a bad man.
Can't you be interested in both? I believe it's folly to believe RH was any one person, but actually a mix of many different folk. The legends even have roots going further back to prehistory. But you're right in the respect we do often tend to hero worship those who really we shouldn't. How many times has this occured in history, that who we believe is a hero, is the opposite. Freedom fighters as RH undoubtably was, walk a fine line between being liked & disliked due to their drastic actions.
Agreed! What a load of PC garbage the Beeb has served up. No Friar Tuck- it might upset fat people, joke sets, poor plots, a wasted opportunity. ROS is in a different league-quality actors, superb plots, excellent attention to detail in terms of the sets etc. Sublime music.
Just like the new BBC version of oliver twist, were half of fagins kids were black or chineese. It was just dreadful. Maybe in 10 years, Fagin will be black and oliver twist son Muslim kid. BBC sure aint what it used to be. But i have lost touch as i don't watch TV much anymore.
Oh SO sad that Michael says all of the cast would have done more shows, for me and so many people it's a tragedy that it didn't happen :O(

I think Micheal Praed should have stayed on the series. If so the series would have gained fame and Micheal would have a lot of options.

Robin of Sherwood was superb. The best telling of the Robin Hood story ever made! Don't even mention the crappy BBC re-make!
Unfortunately it was made when ITV(namely HTV) were actually good, not the Jordan and Peter Andre rubbish they pump out now!!!!

@slewisedwards yea ROS was approx 300 times better than that newer Robin Hood series, funny how programme making has gone downhill in some ways.

Michael Praed is wonderful in his role as Robin of Sherwood. I'm sorry that he didn't portray him also in the third season.

Yes, it was a great shame they never made any more 'Robin of Sherwood' episodes.

It's got nothing to do with that, but whatever. You don't get it. There's always one like you, who HAS to educate others about what they know.

Thanks for sharing this - interesting viewing. An awful shame that those hopes for a revival of ROS never came around. =0(
Strange that Michael Praed kept referring to the show as Robin Hood but then that is what it was screened as in the US, with the sponsors - Showtime.
